Rune Factory 3 Special

Probably one of the most addicting games out there. The graphic update is such a treat and it looks and feels perfect on the deck. I never get tired of the conversations with the townsfolk as every character personality I enjoy in some way. Grinding the dungeons late game...the town worried about me on why I was gone for 3 in game days. Also, elf wife for life!

Overall, one of the best Rune Factory games for me, having played 1, 2, Tides, and Frontier. All I really suggest is get a programmable controller to get a much better experience since a lot of the game can feel tedious if you're into grindy skill-up games. What I enjoyed? Opening Sequence Story and overall writing is great - I especially enjoyed the Requests and am happy that they continued the dragon theme Much funnier than previous RF games Better voice acting than 2, 2 was truly terrible Good but not perfect anti-grind mechanics: Selling Materials in store, a certain Companion Seed, and easier recipes to improve stats Pretty challenging final dungeon What I disliked? Sooooooo many tiresome gameplay elements like: placing items in the bin one by one, having to collect lumber and fodder, I really hate the menu UI because exiting shop & crafting dialogue requires so many button presses When crafting, you're usually warned before you hit 0 HP but for some reason (maybe a bug?) you're only given the warning when you're at 0 HP

I wanted to play Rune Factory 5 really bad but thought I might want to play this one first. I didn't like it when I first started because I wanted to play RF5 so bad, but I am glad I gave it a chance because I am liking it a lot now. The Characters are all adorable and interesting. I'm really glad I gave it a shot. I have played RF4 some, and I was thinking this would be just like it or worse, but I actually like this one. RF4 is ok... but at the moment I like this one more.
