Swords and Souls — fully completed. Started strong. Ended dull. Good game at first… until the grind hit. Early game? Fun. Training feels fast, upgrades come quick, battles are satisfying. You feel progress. You’re hooked. But halfway through, it flips — Everything slows down. XP feels worthless, upgrades cost too much, and the fun starts fading. By the time you're mid-game, it’s less about strategy and more about watching numbers go up. Still finished it. Not because I was excited — just because I already committed. It’s not a bad game. Just too grindy for how simple it is. If it were shorter, it would hit way harder. 7/10 Started great. Dragged itself to the end. Glad I finished it — not planning to replay.

"Neverseen? Never heard of it…" ...is what I would say if I didn’t accidentally sink 78 hours into one of the most surprisingly addictive RPGs I’ve touched in years. Between the charming art, grindable skill training, and arena fights that actually reward you for git gud-ing, this game hits the same part of my brain that loved Flash games and turn-based mastery. 10/10 would “Neversee” my free time again.

Having played the Soul games on Kongregate and Armor Games AGES ago, this game is awesome. Can't wait for the legacy collection to come out, but this is by far one of the most fun little gems I've played in a while.

This is SO FUN! I Loved the flash games as a kid, and i am OVERJOYED they made a full game out of it! This is UDNERRATED AS HELL, and i hope more people play it, it's so good! I Really hope they make a third Rogue Soul in a similar way to how they made this sequel.

Very cool game. All the advantages of the old game from 2015 are preserved, and new ones have appeared. I recommend!

I remember playing games from this studio back when I was a kid in school and messing with games in the computer lab. When I heard that they were releasing this game for steam, a new game in the series, I was so excited and bought it as soon as I could. After playing it on and off (and restarting due to an issue with my save) over the time its been out to now, I have finally 100%'d it. The gameplay, while different from the first games of the series, is still very fun. They decided to make the game a semi-auto-battler style turn-based rpg with some pretty cool mechanics and characters. If you wanna play this game just for the nostalgia and fun, this game is perfect... but trying to get every achievement is such a pain due to the endless mode stuff. In the game, in order to get stronger the quickest, you have to train during little mini-games for each stat you want to level up. This is fine, and fun to try and max out, but the endless mode makes it so you just have to grind the mini-games so much that it becomes so tedious. As a game, I give this an instant 10/10. I loved it. But for completionists, this is honestly a 6-7/10. I spent way too much time grinding this.

Played the first throughout high school and loved it. Played this and loved it. Probably my favorite pass the time game.

This was a super fun follow-up to the really fun flash game. I loved the additional mini games, collectibles, combat, and side adventures this one added. The mini games get insanely hard when going for the higher medals and later challenges, but are still super fun all the same! I'm looking forward to the legacy collection!

25 Hours spent on one character (the other hours came from saves long gone) It's a good game but GOD DOES THE ENDLESS STUFF SUCK The issue with it is that the training stops getting more worth it. What would take just a couple ten minutes would take hours (yes, hours) to be on par with the enemies you'll be facing. I got 40k in melee, 30k in ranged and soulcery, and 20k in defense and agility yet still got stuck on this one endless level. I relied HEAVILY on the potions to make it through, and made it out with a couple thousand hp from my 7 million. I know this game is dead so they're not gonna add any content, but it would've been nice to be able to upgrade the camp a bit more after each 5 levels. And it sucks because you're super rich at the end and can't do anything with it. So in all, it's not a bad game, and the first 10-15 hours are fun, but then the last 10 hours are going to be mostly training rather than progressing.

My rating on this game is actually pretty neutral. I wouldn’t say it’s a good game, but I wouldn’t call it a bad one either. It’s definitely a solid nostalgia trip, at least for me, since I used to play the original on Flash back in school. The gameplay is extremely simple with very little depth—you train to increase your stats through repetitive minigames, fight until you can’t anymore, then go back to training and repeat. It’s one of those games you pick up only if you’re in the mood for it. Nothing really stands out all that much, but I still managed to enjoy it a bit.

Amazing gameplay, love the challenges. They really nailed the progression and the endgame.

Nostalgia overload! But seriously it’s a 7.3/10 game. It’s more than a good game with ambitious ideas but it gets repetitive after a while.

I remember playing all of the swords and souls games on the web, and having a fresh, new experience to explore and get a bit of nostalgia from was great!

A great game from my youth. I played this many years ago when I was younger on on Armor Games and beat it there, and I was glad to see and beat it again here on steam. It was mostly nostalgia bait for me personally and it won't be for everyone, but that doesn't mean it is a bad game by far. If you want a fun little game that will test your reflexes in a great way then this is definitely it. Super rewarding feeling when you get your flow going. The funny thing is for myself personally, the most fun part was the training segments. There are five different ways to train which boils down to five really fun mini-games (save for one that I really didn't like back then or now) that challenge your reflexes and muscle memory without making it feel at all tedious. My favorite one out of them all being the melee training game. Least favorite being archery because it's annoying and slower paced than the other games. Combat is not very challenging since you can go through the whole game easily by spending enough time in the training mode, which you will have to do to beat the game but if you like most of the mini-games like I did then it won't be a problem. Since this was a Armor Games game originally, it is more or less designed for younger audiences. So the story is more on the lighthearted side. Overall definitely one of the better games that managed to escape Armor Games and find a home here on steam.

I had a great time until I didn't. The main progression becomes a mini-game grind. Not a bad experience. Just not interested in any more of it.

Yeah....it's not good. So this game has two main progress paths, training and combat. Combat is bog standard turn combat with Paper Mario style prompts to perfect dodge and perfect crit. Training has 5 different minigames that only have timing as a common theme to combat. Click with precision, dodge with precision, wave your mouse around with precision. The issue is that the game is something like 90% those 5 minigames. Progression, items, levels, it's all locked behind those minigames. The main game itself seems to be almost an after thought. If you've always enjoyed the hell out of those old timey flash games from the mid 2000s and wanted them all connected to some form of progression, this might be for you. It's not for me.
