I recently finished the entire campaign, so I can freshly share my impressions of the title, which in my opinion is a great VR title that every shooter fan should play. But one step at a time. I tested the title quite late, as it was four (almost five) years after its release. Despite the passage of time, the game plays great, and I will definitely return to slap Germans on their helmets more than once. I was using: Quest 3 Intel i5-11400 @ 2.60GHz RAM 32.0 GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (8 GB) Wi-Fi via steam link. I don't use cables because they hinder movement :-) The game runs smoothly, although it could use some patch to improve performance. At times, it can languish a bit. At key moments it can spoil the blood a bit, but it happened to me rarely enough that I do not consider it a minus. As for the game itself, the entire campaign consists of nine episodes and is easily enough for a few intense evenings, because whatever you say, the fun is ahead. Graphically, it really makes a very good impression. HL: Alyx has set the currant very high. Given such a reference, MoH: AaB performs very well indeed. Even in terms of new titles, it has nothing to be ashamed of. The story is simple, but quite neatly presented. It allows you to get into the atmosphere of the story so much that you approach each new mission with excitement, because each one is different. The side characters are interesting and well-written (The Vino Brothers rule). It gives a nice feeling that you are not some lone wolf fighting the world, but a part of a larger whole. The missions are interesting and engaging. Personally, for me it was a bit tiring to fly and shoot. Although this element I never liked in shooters. Fortunately, after completing the campaign, you can skip these missions and jump into the action already. For that, riding a motorcycle or skiing gives you a nice adrenaline kick. There are a lot of beautifully thought-out elements that really make you enjoy like a kid wearing VR goggles. E.g. blasted train elements fly a few inches above your head. Other times, you're sitting in a foxhole waiting for a tiger tank to pass over you so you can hook up its load. Or in a cave you shoot icicles that fall on the enemy. Well, fairy tale. You won't experience it that way sitting in front of a monitor. The locations are interesting, well thought out and varied. We have charming French and German towns, Omaha beach or snowy Norway. We have open spaces, bunkers, rooftops, Gestapo quarters, warehouses and much more. Each location is brilliantly designed and pleases the eye. It's linear to the point of pain, but the action is so intense and satisfying that you won't even notice it. Interaction with objects is enough to give satisfaction. Some objects can be picked up, thrown (such as a knife at an enemy), etc. Glasses break - it's nice. The combat is enjoyable and the arsenal is quite large. Each piece of weaponry can be tested on the shooting range, which I highly recommend. You can have a wonderful time and listen to the groans of hit opponents of known origin :))) In addition, there are pieces of equipment that can be tested before each mission. This is a very good solution, so that you do not waste time later on wondering how to use it to move on. The clashes with the opponents themselves give a lot of satisfaction. Each gun has its own strengths and weaknesses. On the battlefield, they can be freely exchanged. Enemies can shoot accurately, also sloppy hiding behind a wall can cost you your life. They can also come at you from behind, regroup, or toss a grenade. This gives you a lot of adrenaline in exchanges of fire and forces you to act thoughtfully. If you get cornered in one place, you can and probably will get into trouble. The music is well matched to the locations and blends well with what is currently happening in the game. To sum up. I recommend this title 100%. It's nice that there are companies that understand the importance of the story being told. It is thanks to her that we are able to give ourselves to the game completely. To feel it with all of ourselves, especially in such an environment as VR. That's where all the fun lies. Once you're your whole self inside the events, make them immersive. Just “shooting something” in virtual reality is not enough. If you don't see a deeper purpose in it, all the fun quickly becomes boring. It is, after all, so simple, and yet good and engaging titles are still few. That's why I'm glad there are games like: HL: Alyx (a true masterpiece), Batman: Arkham Shadow, Metro Awakening or just Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond. It is titles like these that make me eager to reach for VR goggles. Because I can really feel like the hero of the story offered there.

It's actually really good. I'm not sure why it had so many negative reviews. It feels like being in a movie.

Overall, it's a pretty good game. Optimization is very poor though. HIGH resolution lags in RTX 3070, but MED is unplayable. I had to use Steam Video Settings for specific application to put my resolution somewhere between HIGH and MED. Put the game resolution setting to HIGH, then put Steam resolution to 80%, it gives a pretty good FPS.

Worthy of the medal of Honor name. Gave me the same feeling as playing frontline and rising sun as a kid.

This game does not deserve the hate it gets. Does it have clunk, bugs, and ridiculous dialogue? Oh absolutely. But it's one of the best (being that there's only about two on the market at this time) campaign driven VR shooters out there. While VR controls still haven't been standardized yet, this game does very well in that department. The story is compelling and the gameplay is very very fun. It falls hard into the arcade-y 'power fantasy' area, which is likely why some people shy away from it and how un-serious it takes itself. It definitely has its own historical biases when it comes to different equipment and events, but even that can be overlooked. I for one thoroughly enjoy this game and recommend it to anyone else who enjoys action oriented story driven VR games. I hope the VR market doesn't die out. If they made a follow-up game that takes on "MOH: Rising Son" the same way this one re-tells "Frontline", I'd be very happy.

I want to like this game as a long time fan of the series and Respawn, but holy hell. It's biggest problem is that it's from an era of VR games that just doesn't quite freedom of movement down like say something like Enter the Radius, at it's best it works as expected but not exactly fluid while at worst you will sometimes prime a grenade in the midst of reloading. I'm sure at the time of it's release, it was impressive maybe but now it's aged like cheese. The gun play also feels very floaty, almost like bullets are sometimes magnetized. This goes for both enemies and the player. It was cool that they did make you reload weapons how you would in real life... Kinda. I'm not sure they understood how many weapons had a slide release back then or maybe they just forgot to map it? Along side that issue, you have to always charge your weapon when expelling a magazine, even if there's still a round in the chamber. Interacting with the environment ranges from kinda Indiana Jones moments to "time to try that again because you didn't interact in just the right way". Environments are something to be desired of... Detailed as they are, it's weird what they do and don't consider props you can interact with. It's also just astounding that this game goes from highly detailed blown out appatments to mountain sky boxes missing textures becuase you turned around after you were suppose to be done looking at it. Speaking of before most missions, they let get a preview of things you'll see in the following level. Guns, uniforms, and other set pieces like vehicles or special objective items. Kind of interesting but then leaned way too hard into giving the armorer a quirky personality and not enough into actual information. For example, it's really odd they'll talk about how accomplished you old unit is (Rangers; or atleast your tab says so) but never actually name drop them or battles they've been in.Finally the writing... Holy shit. I don't want to use the term "marvel writing" but I have a hard time describing it as anything else whether we're talking about dialogue or plot. I saw someone describe it as Indiana Jones script a little back and that seemed accurate, but like a first draft for a Disney produced Jones movie. I wasn't all that surprised to learn in the end this game was initially intended be a normal FPS by Respawn before some suits at EA and Facebook collaborated and made them restart and make it for VR, in the worst way possible it shows. On it's best days, it feels like a decent game for a museum exhibit simulation but at 200gigs, insanely long load times, passable gameplay, and $40 it's not so great for home purchase Follow up post: Just finished the game. I was wrong. It rightfully earns the summary of MCU tier writing, it's no surprise you can't find a basic full synopsis anywhere but the wiki dedicated to MoH. I'm dumb founded that the same developers that gave me titanfall are the same ones that just had me clipping through set pieces in the slowest avalanche I've ever seen.

4 hours in I quit and uninstalled this janky tat from my PC. Numerous system crashes, getting stuck or mission event failing to trigger. Often got mission object stuck (one example: box of files landed upside down stopping me picking it up) numerous times I restarted after dying only to find my body still there. Numerous cut scenes and long winded dialogue scenes with very short gameplay sections. Just when you get going it's "victory" and another cutscene. Graphics range from good in places to poor in many places. Very naive VR implementation of vehicles and weapons aiming. Riding in side car doing big jumps in the air and going under bridges whilst trying to shoot a machine gun at this point I'm having to sit on the floor and try to aim with the controller between my legs! Overall avoid....I won't be installing again. Omaha Beach was really disappointing, it was empty (very few NPC) with the gameplay consisting of dragging a raft up the beach to plant explosives on hedgehog defences. Got to the tap killed all the Nazis but it kept telling me to "kill all the Nazis" went round and round in circles for ten minutes. Gave up....

If you like WW1 or WW2, you’ll probably like this. The co-op scene is basically dead, but it runs easy on a 1650 SUPER

Horrible overall, the story is decent at best but the way they handles weapons feels clunky and unfinished, you aim very weirdly and differently from how you usually are used to I.E Bonelabs or even Into The Radius, both games are so much better at implementing their gun/combat system compared to this game, if you want an immersive ww2 era game, this is NOT the one.

It's a very OK tech demo that for some reason is 200gigs. This would be an easy recomend to anyone on sale but 200 gigs for this? I've actually wanted to play it many times since I've purchased it and always decide not to when I remember that. Like today, where I wanted to play it on my new PC and new Headset and decided not to.

No teleport option? Unacceptable. I don't play VR games so I can get sick.

This game is definitely something... It's hard to explain but this game is basically just one of those arcade shooter games you'd find at Dave and Busters but with extra steps. It's not a BAD game, but I think the game's main draw is the sheer spectacle. Like it was awesome to be in a bomber, or watch a train go flying over your head, sure. But at the same time every mission is just walk through this part of the map and shoot Nazis and then watch a cutscene. So it does kind of get repetitive, but it's not bad. I think any WW2 nut would get their money's worth out of this game.
