First of all, this is hands down the best horror game I’ve ever played. I was genuinely shocked when I saw the release date was back in 2016 that’s incredible! The atmosphere, the tension, the storytelling everything is top-tier. If you buy this game, I can almost guarantee you'll end up getting Layers of Fear 2 and the other versions too. It’s that awesome. Every second kept me hooked, and I found myself loving it more and more as I played. The gameplay time is around 4–5 hours, but it's an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Huge thanks to the developers, Bloober Team S.A., for creating such a masterpiece! Layers of Fear drew me in immediately with its dense atmosphere and clever tricks to subvert and skew your sense of reality. Sure, some jump scares are a bit cheap (and some hilarious), but that's by no means detrimental to the overall experience. Had I played this before knowing that Bloober would tackle the Silent Hill remakes, I would have been ecstatic to hear the news, this way around I can simply appreciate all the moments in Layers for how they informed the design decisions in SH2R. Yes, Layers is short, and the ending a bit of a letdown, but it's still a haunting horror experience that any fan of immersive psychological horror should play at least once. Also, it's highly replayable.

Layers of Fear is a masterpiece. It's a psychological horror, which slowly drives you insane as you start to understand what's going on inside the head of the main character. The plot is creepy and depressing and the way it's presented sucks you in and makes you keep playing despite the sickening atmosphere. 10/10 for me.

This is a game I used to watch all the time as a kid, and now I finally got the chance to play it myself. Even though it was released back in 2016, it’s still one of the great horror games out there. The atmosphere, tension, and story are all at the level of a truly excellent horror experience. The franchise as a whole is also really solid. It’s definitely worth buying and playing.

This is one of the best psychological horror games I've played. There are so many well planned jump scares that literally made me jump. The story is really good, but it can get confusing if you haven't gathered all the notes to understand what happened. Also, buy the DLC because it will add more answers to questions you may have with the story since it's from the daughter's point of view. There is no real danger since it's a walking simulator but the atmosphere, the music, and the imagery are terrifying at times. I really enjoyed playing it and replaying it to find all the files (the game carries over your collectibles/files into the next game you play). If you enjoy psychological horrors with a deep story then give this game a try.

Wanted to paint a masterpiece. Ended up arguing with walls, chasing ghosts, and screaming at doors. Art is pain, literally. 10/10 – would get lost in a melting hallway again.

Not scary nor stressful at all for me. You can feel the artist part of yourself during this - something crazy, stupid, but free.
