Nothing too crazy but very enjoyable if you like exploring. Still managed to have lots of charm despite the desolate setting; which I personally fucked with a lot.. a bleak atmosphere + snow somehow became one of my favorite "genres" in games. My main exposure to Canada has always been Nathan Fielder so I'm glad to have broadened my horizons with the new bits of lore this game has offered. Still not a huge fan of French but this one will get a pass.

A mix between a walking sim and a survival game. The main story is relatively short but you can explore quite a lot and spend a lot more time than you actually need to. The narrator is hit or miss for me as he has a lot of unusual dry humor that is kind of inappropriate for the setting. There is a lot of supernatural elements going on and a lot of the story is found out by reading trough diary entries and notes collected. Which is really annoying at times. The highlight for me is the cave and house exploration as the tension grabs you. Also the final segment of the game is great until the ending. Still, the game is okay and there is a sequel. Buy on sale. Other than that I will not be replaying this

VIVE LE QUÉBEC! Really fun little detective game. Only 1 NPC you can talk to so it gets a bit lonely but the narrator talks a lot while you're investigating what happened to the town. It's really well made, pretty graphics, good story. Maybe a bit confusing sometimes but if you get lost just look up a walkthrough. I got it on sale for $2.99 which is a great deal for how fun it was.

It's ok. Average. Started twice and didn't finish because I got bored. Now the third time I finished it. It's relatively short. Maybe it will take you about 6 hours or so, story and most achievements without the
treasure hunt
. Some achievements I find stupid. Complete the game without using any vehicles, smoking, drinking. guns. This makes the game just tedious and not more challenging. Why create a game mechanic around items and then force the player to not use them? I don't get it.

Really liked the atmosphere and the setting. The detective work was fun and the narrator added a lot to the experience. Some parts felt a bit confusing or rushed near the end, but overall a good game

It is a love hate game for me to be honest. It was a bit cheesy in my eyes for the setting and beleivebility of some things. The entire town practically being dead silent besides one old man with a rifle wanting booze? Some things were hard to believe. And I am ignoring the wendigo. The game came off as too serious and also too satire at the same time with my blind play through the game. I was not too impressed with the half-baked survival system and the map only being half utilized... Was the game rushed? It seems like it had a lot of ways it wanted to go but was only able to take it half way? It was a strange game, yet I love it for being so strange, I love the setting, the narrator was actually nice, I am from MN, so this was just Minnesota winter experience. Also reminded me of twin peaks and X-Files. And I have a soft spot for those shows, In conclusion, this is a messy game imo, but... It has a lot of charm. I may get the 2nd game lmao

The narration is great. There are some annoying mechanics, its not really survival like you would expect it to be and the element doesn't really need to be there, so Kona 2 feels more polished and it seems like the devs listened to a lot of feedback. But overall the atmosphere feels good.
