Classic point-and-click adventure puzzle fun with unbeatable atmosphere. Submachine is so spooky and unsettling that after a while, it actually becomes kinda comforting and cozy. Maybe nostalgia has some influence there, but I think it's mostly just the lovingly layered worldbuilding the creator put into it. This eerie, haunting universe is so detailed, so alive, that you won't want to leave. Though, remaining trapped forever in the Submachine would be a nightmare... Guess I'll just have to keep replaying it every few years or so :)

One of the best weird, mysterious, mind-bending and tightly designed point and click puzzle games ever. Even if you dont particularly enjoy hard puzzles, these are fun and exciting everytime and neither too hard.

I've been a fan of submachine since the last game was The Lab. I enjoy playing through them from time to time and I was a bit uneasy if these were going to be the same games. They are a little differences but they are minor enough that they do not affect the main story line. Some changes I feel make the story and game play a bit more smoother and easier to understand. There's a few nostalgic changes that I miss but nothing too big that make me not like the games. I would recommend the game specially if your up for some fun!

10/10. what i loved the most: - taking notes to solve puzzles is actually fun - hand drawn visuals - the sound design goes hard - somewhat confusing and convoluted story but its perfect and fun to try to keep up, it always feels just out of reach - very cool worldbuilding - nostalgia

A classic flash game remastered for PC. (Rest in peace flash) It is exactly what it says on the tin. The classic Submachine series remastered with some extras thrown on top. If you love point and click puzzle games than you'll love this. Does suffer a little from 'Guide-dang-it' for some of the later puzzles. And chapter 10 is longer then every other chapter before it to the point where it can feel overwhelming. But honestly it is still a great classic flash game that holds up. Amazing art and sound design create a atmosphere that is both eerie and zen at the same time. Good luck, see you on the other side.

I can't believe how much I'm loving this game, the story is so bizarre and makes me scratch my head multiple times a chapter, the puzzles are fun and challenging and they really put me in a flow like state of playing when I start "getting" how this game works (final thoughts after I finish it :))

Incredibly good old style point and click puzzle/horror game series can be a bit convoluted if you are not familiar/used to the genre; Expect to break out a notepad to keep track of clues and have a guide available in case you get stuck. Played up to roughly 4~5 back in the flash era and was very happy to see this collection on steam

I've loved the submachine games for years. So many great memories as a kid with this strange world haunting me in the best way possible. When flash died and I couldn't play them anymore I was gutted, but I kept trying to look occasionally--and was rewarded finally seeing this available! This remaster is phenomenal. Combining all the different games into one, it feels so seamless. While some childhood memories don't live up to the hype, Submachine exceeds it by far. Being able to relive the feeling of playing them again for the first time has been a wonderful experience. So even for those who don't have nostalgia drawing them in to play this game, I truly feel that anyone who loves the point and click genre will enjoy this thoroughly. Time to look for all the secrets! :)

Submachine: Legacy is one of the most iconic flash-games of all time, and for good reason. In a sea of point-and-click puzzle games which were popular at the time, Submachine stood out as a uniquely eerie and mysterious game that clearly had so much more under the surface. And boy did it :) As far as puzzlers go, this one is brilliant at building an enthralling atmosphere, and allowing us to explore the complicated world and story through a thousand rooms and scenes. It is absolutely essential that any escape room fan play this game, if not for love of the craft, then for respect of the creator who spent 18 years telling this story.

This would be a perfect compilation if only you could access all the games from the start. Forcing the player to go in sequence is stupid. I don't care what narrative or artistic reason behind this is, I should be able to CHOOSE which games in a collection I play. I hate Submachine 3, I have always hated Submachine 3 and I want to skip it.

Terrible "puzzle" game, relies on disorienting you with a million unnecessary "rooms"/screens so you don't remember where you are or where that place you saw that the key needs to go to is. I hoped only the first chapter is like that but the second chapter does the exact same thing with an added "maze" that just repeats identical pipes over and over to confuse you and give you a headache. Easiest uninstall of my life. The puzzles themselves so far are not actually puzzles, just pick up everything you see and put it anywhere it could go..

I remember coming across Submachine 5: The Root way back in 2009/10 or so, and instantly getting hooked. The style piqued my curiosity and it's floated around in my mind ever since. Every few years for a while I'd remember it, and see that a new entry in the series had since been released. Purchased Legacy to finally get around to playing the whole series again. Absolutely worth it.
