Really cute 3D platformer! Controls feel a bit strange at first, but you get used to them. You can go very fast in this game. Game takes about 6 hours to fully complete blind, but is very enjoyable throughout. I can see myself replaying this game a lot. There are many hidden secret areas if you're willing to explore, this is aided by abilities gained as you progress in the game. Very good for a game developed mostly by a single person. Would love to see more like this.

Cute and cozy. Gameplay-wise, it's like if Banjo Kazooie and Tooie had a baby and it was short and sweet. Aesthetic-wise, it gives me Undertale vibes - mostly with how quiet so much of this game is and the little elements added to the levels.

Man, I really wanted to like this game as it absolutely nails the N64 Banjo Kazooie aesthetic and art style. Now, while I didn't expect this game to be a Banjo-Kazooie like, I was hoping for a decent indie platformer that hits some of the nostalgia highs from the N64 era. Unfortunately, Cavern of Dreams is simply not that game. I can't help but play through this and feel that something is sorely missing, from both the overall vibe, but also the gameplay. The levels are small and linear, and don't really feel like places you explore, but rather a linear path of 'get item x / hit switch y' to open up this door you saw over here. Now do the same thing in the next room, rinse and repeat. There are some minor puzzles here and there, which deviate between being brain-dead simple, to unintentionally obtuse or confusing due to poor design. What's really missing here though, is the sense of charm or wonder. The world and game/characters are just incredibly generic, and we're sorely missing the entertaining quips of say the British humor of banjo-kazooie, or even the tongue-in-cheek goofy humor of say Mario 64. On top of all this, the gameplay and platforming feels stale, and simple. There isn't any fun to be had here platforming or exploring, like you might find in BK or M64. The worlds feel very small and cramped, with zero sense of exploration to them. While I do get that this is the effort of a single dev, I just can't help but feel that this is a very amaterur effort, that fails to hit the mark of old N64 platofrmers. While it visually nails the mark, it's simply not a fun game to play. BK and M64 are a blast to play the moment you pick them up, with levels that are fun to explore, and platforming that is tight and precise while requiring just the right amount of skill. I encourage the dev to go back to these games, to really try to understand what makes them fun to play, as I could see their next effort improving quite a bit with more practice.

excellent game, perfect atmosphere and vibe. only complaint is that ropes/chain hitboxes seem a little thin but thats a nitpick. buy this game if you like platformers 100%

Cute little game with a charming world and soundtrack The low jumps need a bit of time getting used to, but it's very fun and has the perfect length to not overstay it's welcome

Charming and doesn't overstay its welcome. A slice of everything you'd want out of a game like this.
