All seems rather aimless. You can plonk down (huge) buildings with no bearing or relation to what's around it. There just doesn't seem to be any relevance as to where you put buildings. Yes, that could be seen as 'freedom' but there doesn't seem to be a penalty either. Just far too freeform and less about structure for my liking. I could build, build, build and I didn't run out of resources. It might be the mode I played it on, but I never felt any sense of achievement or reward, or any penalty. Maybe I've been playing too much Timberborn, but this just bored me.

Basically a less good copy of settlers with inserted dei. Somehow 3 decades later improving basically nothing, just a different (not even necessarily better) art style. Very uninspired.

A good successor to Settlers: Rise of an Empire and Settlers: Path to a kingdom (aka settlers 6 and 7). Zooming in is highly recommended, as it's really hard to tell which buildings from which at a distance. There isn't any distinct silhouette or visual cue for the basic buildings (farms, wood cutters, stone cutters, etc,,., ) besides the slight size and roof differences (brown vs darker brown). Heck, the height variations between buildings are negligible if you zoom out too much. Buy if you're really into the old settlers games, if not, wait until there's mod support to change the appearances of the buildings or until there's a visual updates. To the devs: instead of adding new buildings, how bout you add in the heroes system like back in 6 and 7 ? The heroes' buff adds a good layer of strategy while not bloating the game too much ( like having 5 different types of mine buildings for metals).

OMG, for an early access game it is pretty good. Looks like the experience of this game is similar to original Settlers. I love it so far.

This game is pretty good (although got carrier bottleneck in the tutorial which is dumb. needs to be a way to get more people besides finding them). Game optimisation for AMD iGPUs is non-existent as my RX 880M (which is roughly as fast as a GTX 1650) is never touching 100% utilised. Also can't move some settings above low. I have 8GB of VRAM assigned to the iGPU and only 2.7gb is being used. Overall still fun. Just needs some optimisations.

I miss when games had depth like this. Knowing more is on the way. Man I cant wait. This is worth your money. Plus plays well on steam deck. Big win
