Painfully bad writing holds back a decent action game. The world building and dialog made me quit. Nothing makes sense or feels believable. Also, let me skip cut scenes you woobs.

I have issues with this game, mostly personal, I want to give this game a thumbs down but I cant honestly with a good conscious. The DLC (not the minisodes with the 3 villains) sucks pole.

I have no idea where all the hate is coming from. The game is pretty easy, yeah, but it’s still a lot of fun to play. There’s plenty to do, and just because it’s simpler than some other games doesn’t mean I wouldn’t recommend it. If every FC game was the same, people would just complain about that too. Variety’s what keeps things interesting, and honestly, being easy isn’t a bad thing. I think this game deserves a bit more credit than the negative reviews are giving it. My point of view, the game’s pretty decent. Hunting isn’t as awesome as in other FC games, but it’s still alright. The part that comes back every time is the AI, they do some goofy stuff. They talk a lot, and sometimes they’ll run right in front of your car. AI also swerves. Getting hit by them while you’re driving. It’s kinda funny, honestly. AI steals your car too lol.

I found a tank so I jumped in and it drove itself, so I rode along and shot everything that moved for hours. I then saw a cruise ship in the distance I tried to shoot but couldn't. I figured I was too far away so I stole a boat and went out to it and the credits rolled, so I guess I beat it? What a strange game.

The meat of a decent game is here, with the now standard Far Cry formula taking on the vibe of Just Cause. Consistently wild and funny, with some clever exploration puzzles being a weird highlight for me. Unfortunately, it all ends in an abrupt "fuck you for playing" ending. The people at Ubisoft just can't help themselves. Still well worth getting on sale.

This is a very soulless and boring game. Which is a shame, farcry used to be really good. Even farcry 5 blows this out of the water. Something about this game is just off. Everything you do just leaves you thinking "well that could've been good if they just..." Also no 3rd person in vehicles is awful. Some of us don't want next to zero visibility and a screen that bounces the entire time.

I bought this game for this year’s summer sale 2025, was even considering buying it before then and was really excited to play it. Sadly I will have to refund this game because you cannot even play it. Ubisoft seems to be having issues with their server and their Ubisoft Connect but I am not willing to wait potentially days or maybe weeks (seems like it was going on for a while for other people) for the issue to be fixed. I highly recommend not buying this game and I would also suggest steam potentially blacklist/unlist it from their catalog as it seems to be a cash grab for a broken game and feels like the company is scamming people. I’m not the type of person to leave harsh reviews because I love to find the good in this but this is definitely deserving of it. Don’t get me wrong I love some of the games they have like watch dogs legion, far cry 5 and new dawn and the assassin’s creed line as I’ve owned them on PS4, but that is not enough for me. If you want to risk buying it I suggest checking to see if their servers are down first or ask around. Will I come back and check at some point? Idk but as it stands the server is broken and the company doesn’t seem to know why just constant bot responses. Literally the 1 hour of playtime I have on this game is literally just from actually trying to access it with no luck.

Came back to finally beat the game after setting it down for a while and now the menu and cutscenes stutter and have audio glitches, making it far too annoying to play... even though my hardware hasn't changed. I thought games were supposed to get better over time... not worse. Shows what I know.

Graphics are VERY underwhelming. They tried to implement another way to move around the map- horses and it did not work out well. Animations regarding the main character (hands, etc.) are actually really well made but the rest is so bad that I can easily say that FC3 (2012 btw) had them done better- that's a 9 year difference and they cheaped out on the animations. Enemies are blind and deaf too :] The only nice mechanic in this game is ripped off the FC Primal- the Amigos (Pets) and it's good only cuz the animals are extremely cute, otherwise it also feels really wonky.

“Viva la revolución — and bring a rocket backpack.” Far Cry® 6 brings the series back to its political roots, dropping players into a guerrilla uprising on the fictional Caribbean island of Yara, a clear homage to Cuba. With a charismatic dictator, chaotic freedom-fighting, and an arsenal as over-the-top as ever, this is a bigger, bolder, and more explosive Far Cry than we've seen before — even if it doesn’t entirely escape the franchise’s familiar formula. You play as Dani Rojas (playable as male or female), an ex-soldier who reluctantly joins the revolutionary movement to liberate Yara from the grip of Antón Castillo, a dictator portrayed with chilling precision by Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, The Mandalorian). Castillo is a strong presence, though he's often underused — his screen time is compelling, but limited. His ideological grip over Yara, and his strained relationship with his son Diego, offer intriguing depth. Meanwhile, Dani is a refreshing change — a voiced protagonist with personality, giving the story more weight than past silent leads. The supporting cast is a mix of wild, memorable freedom fighters and satirical oddballs — including a wheelchair-bound weapons engineer and a cigar-smoking crocodile named Guapo (yes, you can pet him). Far Cry 6 doesn’t reinvent the wheel — but it does strap a rocket engine to it. Massive Open World: Yara is the largest Far Cry map to date, divided into regions each with unique biomes, cultures, and rebel factions. Resolver Weapons & Supremos: You’ll craft makeshift weapons — CD launchers, backpack flamethrowers, EMP blasts — making every encounter feel like a DIY warzone. No Skill Tree: Progression is gear-based; you equip clothing with perks, adding RPG-like loadout flexibility. Guerilla Gameplay: Outposts return, alongside convoys, roadblocks, and “military targets” — giving you plenty of ways to chip away at Castillo’s regime. Animal Amigos: From stealthy panthers to wiener dogs in wheelchairs, your AI companions are powerful, weird, and lovable. Combat is slick, explosive, and highly customizable. Whether you're creeping through tobacco fields with a silenced rifle or blowing up tanks with homemade missiles, the game gives you endless creative freedom. Yara is stunning, filled with dense jungles, crumbling cities, coastlines, and mountain strongholds. The world feels alive, not just because of enemy patrols and wildlife, but due to its political murals, resistance radio broadcasts, and civilian life trying to go on despite the violence. Voice acting is solid across the board, with Esposito delivering a menacing and believable performance. The music blends Latin beats with military drums and underground anthems, immersing you in the spirit of rebellion. Far Cry® 6 is a bombastic sandbox revolution — confident, colorful, and crammed with content. It delivers on the fantasy of leading an uprising, complete with absurd gadgets and cinematic flair. While it doesn’t break far from the series’ blueprint, it polishes that blueprint to a high shine. Its main flaw? Familiarity. If you’ve played multiple Far Cry games, you’ll recognize many of the same rhythms — climb, shoot, loot, repeat. But the personality, presentation, and player freedom still make it a thrilling ride. Recommended For: Fans of open-world action games, players who enjoy explosive creativity in combat, and anyone looking for a tropical playground with political bite. Avoid If: You’re fatigued by Ubisoft’s open-world formula or looking for a deeply nuanced political narrative. Far Cry 6 is a riotous revolution in paradise — not radical, but fiercely entertaining and impossible to ignore. Rating: 7/10

6/10 no spoiler review pros a nice gun selection, with good customization very nice graphics and a good map giancarlo esposito plays the role of anton so well, he is an amazing villain and makes this game alot better the gameplay is fun for the first 5-10 hours or so (it gets very repetitive quick) el tigre cons like 90% of the characters are just horrible and unlikeable. there were maybe 4 or 5 characters that i actually thought were well made. and the game handles deaths so poorly, only one of the non-antagonist deaths felt impactful. speaking of antagonists, why are they all so cartoonishly evil? there is no reason for some of them to do the things they do, its all so exadgerated. we understand that the regime is evil in like the first 3 minutes of the game they dont need to constantly tell us that. the antagonists are so dumb aswell (except anton), like one of them was being held at gunpoint so she decided to be transphobic and somehow expected to be spared. the gameplay loop is pretty bad, with most side missions and extra content not being worth the time and the main missions being lackluster. its pretty much just do mission, drive to next, capture a checkpoint/base if its on the way, maybe do a (tedious) treasure hunt for a unique gun, which is probably just going to be worse than the regular variant of the gun since it forces weapon mods and attachments onto it. i did hvae fun for the first part of the game and would probably say it was a 7.5/10 then, but it actually gets so boring so quick. i went at a slow pace on the first state, 100%ing both the western area and the tutorial island but after that it just all felt like the same thing over and over again. the game is way too easy, even on the hardest difficulty the army feels weak. after getting a good rifle like the AKM you can stealth every mission and base without fail, even if you miss the headshot on a soldier you can just take them out quickly and walk away without even hiding the body (its so rare that soldiers actually find bodies). i purposefuly nerfed the loadout i use so that the game wasnt so easy, its fun using a good loadout at first but after that it makes it too easy (like the triador weapon, you can literally get wallhacks and shoot through walls, taking out any base in 30 secs) what really ruined the game was the ending. i wont spoil anything, but there was so much potential for a better ending and some unresolved plot points (dani overcoming survivors guilt + diego actually becoming a good ruler). the game instead ends with danis survivors guilt just getting worse and diego losing the heir status a little early (no spoilers!!!) the ending juts felt so rushed, they could have easily made esperanza an entire other storyline like the other states. i was planning on 100%ing the game in a new game+ after i beat it, but the ending made me literally uninstall, so many hours wasted for such an unfullfilling conclusion.

Is this game worth it? No, not at full price, probably not even 50%. Maybe like 80% off then sure. Everything about the game is just rinse and repeat, it's fun for about oh idk, 2 hours then it gets boring. Besides the missions being the same thing over, the overall story of the game is just bland. Nothing is really noteworthy of the story itself. The game tries using some "humor" but the humor is just dry and actually quite annoying to listen to. Every single character including the main character is lame. The bad guys are also lame.

I bought this after having loved Far Cry 3 and 5; never got to 4, for some reason. Maybe someday. So, I thought I knew what to expect, but what I got was a very pretty downgrade. Seriously, Far Cry 6 is a beautiful game, but the controls are clunkier, the choppers are way less fun or intuitive to fly, and a lot of the player agency is deprecated. The game is more linear, for sure, despite the bigger map. Points of Interest can be captured... except for the ones that can't, and it's not always clear which can or cannot because they look the same on the map. Capturing POI works differently for each type, or not at all for some, or only during story missions for some, with no obvious indicator which is which. And it was clearly optimized for controllers only, with no care given to keyboard+mouse users. It feels like gameplay was sacrificed for graphics, and that has left me uninstalling this and putting Far Cry 5 back on my machine, just to mess around in New Game+ when I need a good time-waster. Outpost Master in Far Cry 5 is more fun than basically everything about Far Cry 6, if not as nice to look at. And that's a shame.

Another farcry and I love it. To each person it doffers which one they like the most. For me its 3 and 6 due to the setting mostly. Added bonus is that it runs terribly wel on steamdeck. Some say its less good compared to 5 and I simply don't agree. It really mostly depends on what setting you like more and what type of antagonist. It has coop so thata just super fun too!

Decent game with some frustrating issues. Far Cry 6 offers a solid experience with a fairly good story, though I personally found the earlier titles in the series to be more engaging. Graphically, it looks nice and the gameplay feels smooth and fun. However, one of the biggest issues I encountered was related to co-op multiplayer. When I tried to play it a second time with a friend, despite having a stable ping (20–25ms) and identical settings that gave me 120 FPS in single player, I experienced massive FPS drops in co-op mode — so bad that I eventually uninstalled the game out of frustration. That said, for solo play, I still recommend it if you focus on the game's strengths. But the technical issues in multiplayer really hold it back. I’d rate it 60 out of 100 overall. System: i7 13650HX / RTX 4050 / 32GB RAM.

pretty fun game for someone who hasnt played any other farcry game. i loved the action and how brutal it is. i really liked the villain in this game and i did enjoy most of the games missions. the optimization is really good not ever experiencing fps drops or something like that. i really recommend playing it as it is very lengthy and will take some time to complete it unlike some other games nowadays but from what ive heard it is that you will either like it or not bc (from what ive heard) it is pretty different from the other farcry games and the franchise has kinda shifted to something different

Honestly this game is kinda good This game might not be as good as 3, 4, or 5 but is in my top 5 far cry games. I really like the graphics and the details might be the second most detailed far cry ive seen, but of course far cry 2 is the best in detail wise. I really love the idea of a Guerrila fighting a corrupted Goverment even though far cry 4 had the idea first this one felt much more of a war rather then 4. Jasob brody is the best protagonist for sure but i really love Dani's character aswell. the villian was great as well not as great or iconic as 3,4,5 maybe 2 but still a great Villian. Overall i do give this game a strong 7 to a light 8. ( also including dlcs ) Not as good as 3, 4, or 5 but good game

Let me start with saying that I have been a loyal fan of the series since farcry 1. 5 was good, but after that things have been on a downward spiral. This game is the worst one yet... Absolute dogshit. Characters are extremely forgettable, dialogue is stale and cringey. PLEASE say GHEERRIIIIJJJJA ONE MORE TIME... Jesus... Just like a lot of games these days, Ubisoft games in particular seem to have their story and dialogue written by aged office-pepole that have read in a book that "this is what a game should be like". And as usual, Ubisoft can not leave politics out of games. Forced cringey woke bullshit all over the place with no logic to it at all. I dont know what I really expected from a studio like Ubisoft and their recent releases... But my faith in them is now completely gone. Oh and did I say bugs and glitches? Well, there is alot of them too... Save your money, I wouldnt download this shit if it was free...

While not the best Far Cry game by far it's very much more Far Cry. If you liked the gameplay of FC5 very little has changed apart from some weapon nerfs. A stealth playstyle will circumnavigate a lot of the new game +'s difficulty with ease, as bow headshots still reign supreme outside of the forced run and gun sections. Sadly Giancarlo Esposito's Anton Castillo is less of a force than previous FC villains, mostly because he is largely removed from the player. The actual boss characters of each area are also pretty forgettable which is a damn shame after FC5's great mini bosses in the Seed siblings. However the ally characters of each area are fun and have more development than previous. They tend toward more realistic vs past allies like Hurk but aren't nearly as 'boring' as I've seen people complain. Worth noting that there are several LGBT characters in the cast which is nice to see! El Tigre and Paz are personal favourites. The Amigos system is still excellent if a little overpowered if you stumble into the end game companion's early like I did. The petting animations are very fun and I always enjoy seeing my murder machines so happy. The Supremo Weapons system allows the PC to have what is basically an Ultimate. Very fun feature but can also be overpowered if you stumble into, say, the Triador as your second Supremo. Overall a good 7 or 8/10 for a Far Cry fan.

Definitely an improvement over Far Cry 5, the story (dialogue, characters, plot) is a million times better. However, the combat mechanics are somewhat not fantastic, they struggled to introduce new combat systems, which is a valiant effort, but feels unfinished (or perhaps rushed is a better word for it). Overall, it is a pleasant experience, plenty to do in the world, I would say it is worth the full price (always better to get it at a discount, but I am not sorry for paying full price for this one).

coming from playing FC3, FC4, and Blood Dragon, which are very fun, this one is way too dragged out with uncompelling character expo, pausing repeatedly during battles to change weapons and outfits, and lots of visit-once map space that makes exploration feel more like a chore than an adventure. I almost thought it was nice that there are small areas that can't be taken over so enemies always respawn, but you don't even get xp for kills so they're just an annoyance. maybe if youre coming from other bigger open world games with lots of crafting like GTA or Fallout this game might seem fun, but it's a far cry from being a good Far Cry.

I played the game in Spanish helped me learn some phrases, however the game itself so boring, something was odd about the game, you should probably stop making Far Cry series, and focus on some quality, yes you have so many companies and gamedev workers, I am myself trying to become one Game Artist, people always want to fix the art in the game by hiring and firing them, you should focus on programmers and level designer I believe, because most of the time game art is mostly at the pick, there are moments that I did not like in Ubisoft's other games, but this game felt so unfinished

It is a great game until you lose hours of game play due to a broken autosave feature that occasionally doesn't save your progress. No option for manual save and broken autosave? What were they thinking? And more importantly, why have they not bothered to fix it? This is a great game with a good story and some interesting characters, but is rendered unplayable by this bug. This was occurring in a two player co-op. Not sure if the same thing occurs in single player.

This game is the ultimate iteration of the formula started with Far Cry 3. It is a highly-polished open-world action adventure game with some socio-political overtones that can largely be ignored. There is an overwhelming abundance of things to do, and no particular order in which they must be done. I like to pick this up when I feel like playing a first-person shooter but without needing to exercise the kind of twitchiness associated with online PvP.

AI in this game is fking trash and garbage. Whenever any follow NPC quest arrives, they sometimes cluttered, stop moving or sometimes move very slowly which is so annoying to complete any missions. Calling a vehicle is also another annoying thing; the AI didn't drop the vehicle properly, sometimes ran over me, and sometimes dropped it in an inefficient place. The main mission where npc was supposed to be to deliver me to the spawn point it didn't even try to cope-up. Fking garbage AI.
