Ubisoft connect is abysmal as always, I played this many moons ago on PlayStation and had to make a new account on PC and they won't let me launch the game anymore cause it needs a activation key I never received. I cannot launch the game now, because It thinks my old account owns it. despite previously playing it.

Not optimized for computers in general and so many glitches that with many that just literally soft lock you out of playing the game. Easily corrupted data as well. Get this game on console if you have one.

“Welcome to Kyrat. Please enjoy your stay… if you survive it.” Far Cry® 4 takes everything that made Far Cry 3 a classic and dials it up to 11 — bigger world, more weapons, new vehicles, and a villain that’s as stylish as he is psychotic. Set in the fictional Himalayan country of Kyrat, the game delivers an explosive mix of civil war, spiritual conflict, and open-world mayhem. You play as Ajay Ghale, a young man returning to his homeland to scatter his mother’s ashes. What begins as a personal pilgrimage turns into an all-out rebellion against the self-appointed king of Kyrat: Pagan Min — a pink-suited dictator with a flair for theatrics and a habit of stealing the spotlight. Pagan Min, voiced with charismatic menace by Troy Baker, is a magnetic antagonist. While he’s not as central or deeply explored as Vaas from Far Cry 3, his unpredictability and occasional charm make him memorable. Ajay, though less expressive as a protagonist, serves as a functional anchor for the player, with the narrative built around choices between two opposing rebel leaders, each with questionable morals — adding a layer of political ambiguity to your actions. Far Cry 4 refines the series’ signature open-world design with tons of freedom and chaos: -Expansive Map: Kyrat is a beautiful, vertical playground of snow-capped peaks, lush jungles, and crumbling temples. -Liberate Outposts & Bell Towers: Signature series mechanics return, rewarding exploration and domination. -Ride Elephants, Fly Gyrocopters: Yes, you can crash a mini-helicopter into an enemy base, or ride an elephant straight through the front gate. -Robust Arsenal: Guns, bows, explosives, and even auto-crossbows — the choice is yours. The co-op mode allows another player to join in open-world shenanigans (though not main story missions), which adds a whole new level of fun and unpredictability. There are also side activities galore: hunting, racing, arena combat, drug-fueled hallucination missions (hello, Shangri-La), and more. Kyrat is stunning. Ubisoft did an incredible job blending rugged natural landscapes with cultural and architectural detail. From hand-painted prayer flags to ancient statues lost in the mountains, the setting feels rich and alive. The audio design is immersive — ambient jungle noises, rebel radio chatter, and a culturally inspired soundtrack give the world weight and identity. Pagan Min’s taunting phone calls also add a darkly comedic edge to the quiet moments. Far Cry® 4 doesn’t reinvent the formula — it perfects it. While it closely mirrors Far Cry 3 in structure and tone, the added layers of verticality, co-op, and a politically charged narrative make it stand out in its own right. It’s easy to get lost in Kyrat’s chaos, and harder still to leave it behind. It might not be as narratively impactful as its predecessor, but it offers more gameplay variety, freedom, and fun in every sense. Recommended For: Fans of open-world shooters, players who love emergent gameplay, and anyone who enjoyed Far Cry 3 but wants more. Avoid If: You’re looking for a groundbreaking story or a completely new direction for the franchise. Far Cry® 4 is a bombastic Himalayan sandbox — not revolutionary, but incredibly polished and relentlessly fun. Rating: 9/10

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME FOR PC! EVEN GETTING IT TO START IS A NIGHTMARE! For context I opened the game once, closed it. And then was not allowed to start it. Spent a entire night troubleshooting and had to screw with the registry editor to get it to open. In conclusion, just buy it on console, its a great game.

This game is really cool, discovering things is cool too and I'm a fan of discovering things anyway, The fact that you have to behead animals to make things is of course very difficult for me to deal with, but you can still see how things are made and I'm glad that when you behead them there's no blood or a big hole in their stomach, I'm still really excited about the experience of nature and there are elephants! that you can even ride and fight against enemies!

7/10. The main game is great, if you like far cry. Lots of stealth, climbing and drugs. Alot of drugs. SO MANY DRUGS. Everytime you see a cutscene in this game there is like a 50% chance you will get drugged. The Shrangri-La bits are shit, mainly cause you can only kill the tank enemy using a tiger npc that runs off and dies alot. The characters are nothing short of mental, including the guy you are playing. (Ajay) (Who constantly tries to get high) But the story left me feeling a bit dissapointed. During the game they give you the illusion of choice in alot of situations. Then at the end of the game you get to actually make an impactful decision. The game forces you to choose between the two future leaders of Kyrat. I picked Amita, since i was against the whole religious dictatorship Sabal was aiming for. Turns out, neither of them are a good leader after the story concludes. You get cutscenes showing you the way they operate (dictatorship-like), and the game allows you to kill their npc in freeroam after. But thats it. Theres no Epilogue, no more missions, no achievement, nothing. For some reason they tease you with the bad leadership of Amita or Sabal but theres nothing more to it. It left a bad taste, and empty feeling. That being said, the core gameplay is good, and if you like Far Cry, theres a good chance you will like this game. (oh and i modded out the locked open world parts of the game because not have an open world game be open world is stupid)

Bought this game as well as 3 and 5. 3 and this one don't work at all they launch in random resolutions and when you change it to the correct one, it changes back as soon as you use your controller. For a game that was on the 360 how is this unplayable in 2025 on a modern PC. ridiculous waste of time and money screw ubisoft and their stupid launcher and un-optimized games!

You sell game data for ads on third party services. Cannot play offline. The offline mode option does not work even if I fully sign in under it. The checkbox to start ubisoft connect in offline mode does not remember the last setting and defaults to connect with every boot. Disabling cloud saves does not disable cloud saves. Ubisoft, amazon, and google servers are constantly connecting to and monitoring my game. No option to control the storage of cloud saves, which are saved on third party servers.

I have tried time and time again to upload a game save using Ubisoft Connect, and despite the name it refuses to CONNECT to the internet and save my progress. Xbox never had this problem. Good game, but garbage company and system. Just use Steam saves damnit!!!

I sure love it when a great game that ran just fine on Xbone gets a shit PC port that runs like ass and requires me to make a new Ubisoft account on Edge because I couldn't get pass the captcha on Firefox, all to install a shit game launcher just to play the game I legally bought with my own money! Fuck you Ubicock.

Far Cry 3 was phenomenal due to Vaas. I don't think if Far Cry 4 will compare to it's legacy but still. Far Cry 4 is pure adrenaline! I had a blast exploring Kyrat’s jaw-dropping mountains and jungles, taking down map browsers top rated outposts, and riding elephants into battle. Pagan Min is an unforgettable villain, and the wingsuit made every jump epic. This game is a no-brainer buy for anyone craving an action-packed adventure. Get it and dive in!

Its basically an overall upgrade to Far Cry 3. better visuals, diverse environment instead of bland green fields of FC3, antagonist was less interesting than vaas but world building was great.

Seems great, but there are major bugs that make the game hard to enjoy. For me, it was a bug regarding resolution that continuously made me force-quit the game. I know this is an old game, but I can't recommend that anyone pay for a product that doesn't work.

Far Cry 4 is an awesome game — at least, from what I could tell. The visuals are stunning, the gameplay feels smooth and exciting, and the world of Kyrat is rich with detail and action. I was genuinely excited to dive into the story and experience everything this game has to offer. But there’s one big problem: for some reason, it only runs in Russian for me. And I don’t speak Russian. I really wanted to enjoy the story and understand the characters, but instead, I had to guess what was happening half the time. It’s super frustrating when you’re totally into a game, but the language barrier keeps you from fully experiencing it. I couldn’t even figure out some of the missions or settings without Googling translations. So while I liked what I could play, I can’t give it five stars until there’s an easy way to change the language or subtitles. If you understand Russian, you’ll probably love this. If not, be ready for a confusing (but still fun) ride.

Just like Far Cry 3, it's a fun (if a little repetitive) game, however it's almost unplayable because of the system issues it has with more modern computers. Even using all the tricks I could find on Reddit and Steam Community, the game randomly shuts down for almost any random thing. Blow up a car, shut down. Start a new mission, shut down. Fail a mission, shut down. Fast travel, shut down. Start a new video sequence, shut down. Get in a vehicle, shut down. Fire a weapon, shut down. Attacked by an animal, shut down. Get hit by an explosion, shut down. Loose power on your blue tooth headphones, shut down. Interrupted by a system alert, shut down. And the further you get in the game, the more frequently the game decides that what you did qualifies as an offence and causes the game to freeze and shut down. I finally quit playing the game with 33 hours under my belt after restarting a main quest for the 6th time. I'm just thankful that I paid less than $10 for the game.

Almost everything about this game is brilliant. Good writing, gameplay, and a decent skill tree. But... it's ultimately means nothing when you have to DELETE THE PROGRESS!!! So Ubisoft wanted you to build up from a slow grind that takes MANY HOURS TO GET just to end up deleting it to go back to a previous choice. The choices do feel impactful, but it is FORCED DOWN YOUR THROAT BY HAVING ONLY 1 SAVE FILE! Well, you can just go to your file and save your files, but the message this sent by Ubisoft back in 2014: We hate player convenience and we have the technology to make multiple saves - we literally did that in Far Cry 3 - but we want to FORCE our precious players buying our games and DLCs to play only one save file and also force them into tedious workarounds if they wanted a faster way to go back and experiment with our unique choices and story. Seriously, whoever thought this was a good choice must be on something higher than that mission where you go into a drug plant and go into this epic hallucination scene... but again you cannot have more than one save and that is literally my only problem with this otherwise beautiful game. 7/10.

The game is a lot of fun, no real complaints to speak of. The link between steam and the ubisoft client is so profoundly shitty that I can't recommend anyone have to deal with this. Constantly having to launch the game multiple times because it forgets what the account it's supposed to sync with etc.

Far Cry 4 holds a cozy spot in my memories, being my first Far Cry experience, and a really good one at that. With an insane opening, and a story that feels like you have an impact (if you ignore me running after everything shiny) on the lives of an entire culture. They've made improvements on the gameplay from FC3 (which definitely stood out when I played it after FC4) that made me come back over and over: early wing-suit, the buzzer, Shanath arena challenges, and here in 2025, they've added another reason to replay this masterpice: achievements (and DLC that I somehow missed before). Having acquired 60% of the achievements at start-up (from prior play-throughs), I am excited to play again, hunt the ones I didn't even think of... that are quite honestly a bit unhinged... but isn't that what father has envisioned Kyrat to be? I mean, the obscure, sex-crazed endeavours of FC3 was fun, but I'm looking forward to another run through Kyran. "Should I stay or should I go!?" Hell yeah, let's "tear shit up!"

Good game the visuals are great even though they sometimes have to load when from a far distance the characters are kinda good my favorite one Pagan min which I wish we can join him to destroy the golden path because he is such a badass character, the Ai can be kinda goofy but their still fine, the weapon system of the game is good because there are just fun to use but the bad part in my opinion is the DLC and ubisoft connect.

I played 3 long ago and played 5 recently so I decided to try 4 also. Your experience may vary, but if its your first Far Cry, its good, 5 or 6 would be better since they are newer but pretty much all of them are same. And that is the reason behind negative review, its the same as others. And it would be okayish I guess if the theme was not drug fueled, hippy, legend/religion based. Basically game is about you being high and discovering whatever religion/culture/legend this game is based around, 1000000 collectibles on the map. Play one Far Cry and avoid others.

I wanted to like this game. I powered through to finish the game hoping it would get better but ended up disappointed. I think it was a mistake playing far cry 5 first because that game is amazing and this one doesn't measure up. This game is pretty repetitive, the eagles are annoying, and while there are multiple endings to choose from none of them are good.

id love to review this game positively but unfortunately the game is so poorly optimised it causes my pc to shut off and bootloop on basically every attempt to run the game or even launch it, i have some decent specs too way above the recommended and according to some googling thats the issue its not made to do that, this sucks cause i loved the ps3/4 version and have the platinum for the ps4 version and was looking forward to sharing a game i loved with a friend but we cannot do it due to this fact, i DO recommend the game, just not on PC go for the console versions.

As for farcry co-op experience games not good. Co-op has no main missions just a big sandbox. Also joining together is a train wreck where we took 4 hours just to then realize that we can't do more than just explore. If they connected us on the first try and let us co-op earlier I would have refunded this game. But hey, the voice actor for Pagan is pretty cool.

I'm a big FC3 (2012) enjoyer but this game (2014) is very disappointing. -Nothing satisfying when you unlock new perks (Jason, your Tatau was amazing) -Once, I was clearing an outpost silently but an enemy bounced in the foken air and alerted everyone -Once, I died during a main mission but for the game I cleared it so I got spoiled in a very bad way -Died at least 543 times because of the foken wingsuit deploying when I just wanted to run and jump (you can't reassign the wingsuit key like wtf) -Increasing the difficulty doesn't make the fights more interesting, it just makes the game more frustrating. -Characters have 0 depth and you feel 0 chemistry between them. I'm sorry but this is a bad game. Spend more time on Rook Island instead, it's better for your sanity.
