Excellent, truly brilliant. I am a big fan of Thief and Dishonored, anything with that dreary, pseduo-Victorian era mixed with fantasy/horror. Also a fan of Lovecraftian horror as seen in the beginning episode. Although in development the devs are on the ball and even in the state it was months ago this game was great. Plays smooth, allows creativity from the player, atmosphere is top notch. I only wish that the town which is under quarantine had more signs of life, it just feels way empty, like no life ever lived there barring the patrols. A few cats or mice or hobos roaming around? Big fan of you guys. Keep it up.

I am in love with this game. The atmosphere is so spooky and crazy good. This game also allows me to kill the british! 10/9 game.

The developpers are cruel sadist, who will lure unsuspecting stealth enjoyer with a masterfully-crafted stealth immersive-sim with very good mechanics, only to give them a heart attack, in the underport's hive. 10/10

8.5\10 Love this game so far! Gives a "Dishonored" kinda of vibe, my only problem with the game is the style of the viewable map its hard to tell where you are!

Finding this was like digging behind the sofa and pulling out an old looking glass immersive sim you had somehow forgotten about. Brilliant open world survival horror stealth game, lots of fun mechanics, highly recommended!

Its still noticeably Early Access, but still a fun game. Reminds me of the original Deus Ex.

This is shaping up to be one of the best games of all time and it isn't even out of early access.

The stealth is perfect and so is the voice acting. One of my favorite game genres, if not my favorite when done right, and this game does it.

Gloomwood is an amazing game especially for an early access title. from the offset you are immersed in its dark environments, traversing shadowy hallways with nothing but your canesword and a ring that tells you how hidden you are. no hud, no stealth meter, just your own senses. The story is intentionally vague, making you piece the plot together through overheard dialogue and notes scattered throughout the stages. the game makes no attempt to hold your hand, it makes you really feel like you are the doctor doing your best to survive in this hellscape, piece together whats happening and do what you can to stop it. Whilst i think some mechanics need to be ironed out, particularly to do with the new research update, Gloomwood is a really promising title and i cannot wait to see where it goes!

A mysterious game, riddled with a pox of puzzling, requisite actions, yet ultimately fulfilling. While I'm just beginning I have to say the graphics and general presentation are enticing!

Game's great, but the current research system is very flawed. I hope that they add an ability to get the ingredients recreationally. You should be able to extract eyes from heads in exchange for them not being usable on the pike, for example. Some jars are just completely unavailable after you use them up. Maybe in Research Part 3 they'll add a scalpel or something that allows you to do this. Hunting frogs & rats and whatnot for their parts. That'd be cool lol. Otherwise please play this game it's incredible for what it is at the moment

It's generally a good game but ever since the second part of the research update the game has been entirely unplayable due to major bugs

For an early access game, it is extremely polished and well tuned, with minimal bugs. Feels like a love-letter to the genre and, with future content additions, can easily become a household name.

I'm barely 6 hours in and I'm in love with this game, PLEASE do yourself a favor and get this game

As of right now, the game is still in Early Access and thus is still unfinished. Part 3 of the story (last part?) is still in the works, so unfortunately you can't play to completion if you pick it up right now. HOWEVER, I highly encourage you to try this game out if you like Dishonored/Amnesia. I love the Indie game aesthetic, but what's incredible is everything else is amazing. Sound design, ambiance, animation, voice-acting, story-telling through hints in the world, etc. It's a truly incredible game. The only thing they need to do is expedite the finish. Get this game over the finish line to make it a complete experience. As an early access experience: 7/10. This game rocks, but it's simply unfinished. I wholly expect to give it a 10/10 when Part 3 rolls out though.

An absolutely amazing immersive sim/stealth game. If Dishonored & Thief had a baby and then that baby grew up and made another baby with Pathologic, Gloomwood would be that baby. 10/10

If you love the Thief series, you *will* love this. Definitely scratched that itch to "replay Thief for the first time". It's similar enough to feel comfortable and familiar, but different enough to be interesting. A+, 10/10, cannot wait to keep playing as Early Access grows toward release!!

A callback to what Immersive Sims ought to be. The atmosphere is amazing, the sounds are spooky, and they just keep cooking. Can't wait to see what else is in store for us!

I'm really enjoying this game. Great Stealth and horror atmosphere Really nails the Cosmic horror innsmouth vibes. Lovecraft would be proud. 10/10 would Gloomwood Again.

This is one of my Favourite games already. i had an honest blast throughout the entire game and I cant wait to get more content in the future!

Awesome game. Great blend of immersive sims and survival horror, Love the movement and combat as well. Can't wait for the next update.

Very good game. The level design is top notch with its interconnectivity. Defenetly a must have for all who like games like Thief.

early access but i can honestly recommend it cuz the survival horror aspect is very fun but i would play on the highest of if you are too bad at video games (like me) to manage saves with your consumables, the 2nd highest. the locations are neat to look at and puzzles feel rewarding, a good concept and game is here, excited for the full release

[h3] Its a masterpeace, 100% worth buying to support the development [/h3] Atmospheric game that knows how to build up horror. Probably has the best jumpscares Ive experienced in a game. It has few bugs but 99% of the content is polished. Finished the early access after 20 hours because I was exploring and experimenting around alot (just rushing this game probably doesnt take that long at all), cant wait for further updates!

Incredible game. Unfortunately the developers refuse to map an official controller layout citing that it's in development and it doesn't make sense to have to remap it every time there's something new. Well it's now like 3ish years later and still have yet to add official controller support. So until they do so imma just leave this negative review here.

Dues ex, prey, bioshock, dishonored, and a splash of resident evil and you have Gloomwood. This may be my game of the year this year and next year. Better than most triple a games and at a third of the cost and the game isn't even done yet. Pickup a copy ASAP.

Perhaps this game simply isnt for me but the game feels slow and boring, combat feels sluggish and heavy along with very questionable decisions over melee combat, having checkpoints that are infrequent so when you die you gotta redo a section all over but i have to say the environment and art of this game look very good and well made its just the game-play that ruins it for me

i have a good time with it it did bring me back of the old school thief i hope to see more later on hope to see more use from the Merchant's shop he can so later in the game hope to see more Upgrade than just Inventory

Who would win? Ten armored soldiers or one sneaky doctor with a shotgun? Hope to play the full version with all the content one day, as the current content is amazing. Interesting level design with multiple ways to play. Terrifying (in a good way) ambient sound. Probably the only drawback is running back and forth for research updates.

Every Update the game gets, every saved file is corrupted and is unplayable. Love the game but holy shit fix that nonsense. If more than 5 separate attempts to try to play the game, every time having to start over isn't enough, Idk. Wait until the Devs can put out the full game, if they can. Otherwise a great but busted and eventually boring, supposed spiritual successor sequel to the thief series. (fix the save issue holy jesus tap dancing christ)

What can I say, Gloomwood is an amazing game and It's a very immersive game that lets you play how you want. Can go in guns blazing or take it slow and methodically assassinate everything. Music and sound design are also top notch. and I love the old school charm of the art style. 100/10

1 of the best stealth experiences i ever had love the atmosphere and sound design and directional audio is actually insane a must have if ur a fan of the stealth genre and if ur new to stealth games i think this might definitely further spark that interest in the genre

I'm just reviewing this to see how many hours I got in the game before I closed it. Too much stealth for me. I am the emptor who got caveated. Still recommending because Stefan Weyte is a king. Anyway I'm off to play Blood again
