this game has been compromised and is no longer safe to play on PC as people are able to use remote code execution on multiplayer to control your computer, this exploit may be limited to the PC gamepass edition that recently released but it may be possible on this port too so please stay safe

Call of Duty: Band of Brothers After the original Modern Warfare trilogy I thought CoD campaigns had lost their way of telling impactful stories, but this game has proven that notion wrong. While I do think this story is heavily inspired by Band of Brothers I don't think it detracts from the story this game tries to tell. 8/10, gives me hope their might be another sleeper cod campaign that I missed. I didn't play any of the multiplayer, I only bought this game bc it was on sale and figured it'd be fun to shoot some Nazi's like the old days, but I assume if you're looking at this game in 2025 you probably aren't here for the multiplayer anyway. My only complaint with the game play was the total lack of muzzle velocity and drop range for the guns, they're basically lasers that just instantly hit wherever you shoot which can really throw you off if you're use to more realistic gun mechanics.

Best looking CoD WWII game. This felt like CoD version of the Battlefield 5, which isn't a bad thing.
The war may be old, but the action still hits hard.
Boots on the ground, bullets in the air, and clichés in every cutscene. It’s back to World War II because nothing says innovation like going back to 1944… again. This is old school Call of Duty in its purest form: tight gunplay, gritty atmosphere, and a campaign that hits the familiar emotional beats without overcomplicating things. It’s straightforward, focused, and polished. From storming beaches to clearing bunkers, it feels like a tribute to the franchise’s roots, before jetpacks and wall running took over. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3016542060
Story
Story wise, it plays it safe, but it’s well paced, well acted, and hits the right tone. If you grew up with classic CoD campaigns, this will feel like coming home in a steel helmet. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3016542133
Visuals
One can say, grit never looked this polished. It delivers a visually immersive experience that’s both cinematic and brutal. Lighting, particle effects, and facial animations are top-tier even the mud feels like it has texture. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3013982563
Why I recommend it?
Does it reinvent the wheel? Not at all and that’s exactly why I recommend it. Nothing new, and that’s the point. WWII delivers classic boots on the ground action with great gunplay and a solid campaign that doesn’t try to be more than it is. And that’s why it works. As someone who’s really into World War II history, I have to say Call of Duty: WWII is a solid entry in the franchise. It might not be a perfect simulation, but it definitely delivers on the atmosphere. The uniforms, weapons, sound design, and set pieces really capture the look and feel of the era. From the D-Day landing to the ruined towns of Europe, it feels like you're right in the middle of it. Gameplay wise, it’s still a Call of Duty game, fast-paced, arcade style action with quick reloads and snappy movement. So if you're expecting something more grounded or realistic like Hell Let Loose or Brothers in Arms, this isn’t it. But if you're in it for the cinematic experience and tight shooting mechanics, it does a great job. Overall, I’d say it’s not bad at all for a Call of Duty title, especially for someone who enjoys WWII settings. Could’ve used a bit more realism, but they definitely nailed the atmosphere. Worth checking out if you’re a fan of the era.

The cut scenes in the campaign are great, but the game play is unrealistic and arcade-like at best, and totally ridiculous at its worst. I understand that COD isn't known for their realistic adaptations but the the combat works in the campaign just feel off. Russian weapons found on the D-Day mission, unrealistic chase scenes and over the top action scenes in a WW2 game. I could not remove the hit markers either, which takes away from the immersion. Having played almost all the CODs since Call of Duty 2, I feel this one falls short of its predecessors. I was looking forward to some immersive WW2 shooter but instead, was greeted with a nonsensical - Michael Bay inspired - arcade shooter. I do not recommend this..

Great game. The story goes through all the parts of Europe I was hoping for. Definitely some classic COD over the top moments and I think the game could’ve had better writing which would’ve amplified the overall experience. But nonetheless it’s a great WW2 campaign and I would recommend to any WW2 fan looking to kill some nazi’s.

Starting this out by saying - Zombie mode is great. Final Reich is a banger of a map. Now that that is out of the way, time to talk about the campaign. I play CoD for zombies mainly and run through the campaign at least once or twice, I actually enjoy doing them. That said, Sledgehammer has to find SOMEWAY in every title to ruin gameplay. This one, ESPECIALLY for PC players with high frame rate, is called QTE or "Quick Timed Events." If you have a beefy PC and play on superior graphics, you will get so incredibly frustrated doing these randomized QTEs and failing checkpoints over and over. Some of them are literally impossible. Lowering your Hz and vysnc on helps but its not enough. Outside of that, here are some other issues:

Gun play can be irritating due to low magazine sizes, terrible recoil, and more
Movement is either a slog or a sprint, very little middle ground
Unskippable cut scenes which can drag on
Your character seeming forgets how to stand or walk, the guy is always getting knocked down
Driving the cars and god forbid the dumb tank mission is actually more painful than dental work without numbing agents
Each mission is about as long as the cut scenes and cinematic involved for it
Stealth missions are boringly easy and also not well implemented.
Hope you like dying to things outside of your control from time to time
Great campaign. However, zombies mode was too complicated and objectives were not always explained or marked well. The game glitched on the 2nd to last campaign level and I lost all keybindings. So couldn't move till I reset the keybindings in Settings. The levels were well done and challenging. The levels were also more varied than other Call of Duty games. The story had more heart, enhanced by a beautiful musical score. I'm not a PVP multiplayer fan so I mainly ignored that mode. Overall, I would recommend this game.

This is why I love Call of Duty games, congratulations for impressing me so much with its 8 hours long story. Graphics and such are very, very good despite being released in 2017 especially those cinematics are to die for If you're reading this, try this underrated game with a beautiful story I wish Activision would keep producing games like this one.
7/10
Visually stunning COD campaign with a solid story and characters and decent ending. Good gun-play. Love the game-play and visual variety in missions. A much more grounded game compared to the previous 2 installments. The train crash has to be the most dramatic, over the top. insane cut-scene in any COD game. I wasn't a fan of them bringing back health bars and having the squad UI be in the way. The plane controls are pretty bad. The social stealth mission was dope. Felt like a snippet out of a Hitman game.

It might be tough to realize, but this game turned out very good. The campaign is top-notch; everything is well-animated, the characters are super memorable, the missions are fun (except for the obligatory tank mission) The zombies is also very fun, albeit quite overwhelming at first and even after you get used to it. I still don't particularly care for the loadout system outside of putting iron sights on snipers, but I looked past it. The objective-based zombies is a nice change from regular survival, and groesten haus is incredibly fun for a quick game. I don't like how hard it is to get some time to do things like treyarch zombies, for example: zombies spawn in a lot quicker and in more places, no barricades to rebuild, crawlers die after a short amount of time. It's something to get used to but I'm glad i gave it a chance

Call of Duty: WWII review Keyword here is: heroic. This is the best Call of Duty I've played since MW3. It goes back to the series' roots and into WWII, also including med packs like in the first game in the series. The story is alright and graphics are among the best in the series. There is gore though it can luckily be turned off if you don't like it. The best thing about this CoD is that in the campaign it displays true heroics among the soldiers in WWII. There are many situations where you must save your brothers in arms... and for some reason it really pays off emotionally even if you remember that they are just NPCs. Story isn't all that memorable but it gets the job done. Don't go into it expecting anything really special. Audio is good enough as well. Soundtrack had zero surprises according to my memory, it is your ordinary post-Batman heroic orchestra. But all in all... this is a fine CoD with high production values. I'd get it at sale. This is 8+/10 for me.

It was nice to see Call of Duty return to their roots with a WW2 shooter. It was also cool for them to bring back the old school game play of collecting med kits to regain health. I don't think anything will ever top the high of landing at Normandy in Medal of Honor: Frontline, but the D-Day mission in this is overall very good. The storyline is good and is a great cinematic experience, however I still think that Call of Duty: World at War is their best work with a WW2 shooter.

Basically everything you would expect from a COD game. Runs good and has great graphics but no time to stop and admire because you'll be dodging bullets, grenades and even a derailed train. Of course nothing will stop you as you plow through unlimited enemies only to hit the next checkpoint at the most awkward moment. It was a fun game for $20, wouldn't pay anything above that though. A little woke nonsense mixed in there too of course. Take some Saving Private Ryan, jazz it up with a little Band of Brothers and you got yourself a game.

It was very fun but seemed extremely short after playing things like WoW and Destiny 2. I wish it had about 1000 more missions. Even with zero cut scenes I would prefer more playtime. Overall a good summary of some of the things that went on in WWII.

Glad I waiting to buy this game on sale. Good FPS parts but the forced cut scenes to accomplish some forced action were a pain in the ass. Almost finished with the campaign but the frustration is not worth it... going to uninstall and quit wasting hard drive space on this slop.

Call of Duty WWII marks a compelling return to the series' historical roots, delivering a gritty and impactful portrayal of the Second World War. Shifting away from futuristic combat, this entry immerses players in the visceral realities of war, prioritizing authentic environments and intense, boots-on-the-ground action. The campaign is a standout, following a squad through pivotal moments of the European theatre. It's a cinematic and emotionally resonant journey, focusing on brotherhood and the personal cost of war. Gameplay in both single-player and multiplayer emphasizes traditional run-and-gun mechanics, demanding tactical movement and sharp reflexes. The multiplayer offers classic modes, along with the objective-focused War Mode, providing varied and engaging battles. Visually, the game is stunning, with meticulously recreated historical settings, detailed character models, and impressive environmental effects that truly capture the era. The sound design is equally immersive, from the roar of artillery to the crack of rifle fire, enhancing the intense atmosphere. In essence, Call of Duty WWII is a powerful and engaging experience. It successfully delivers a respectful yet thrilling take on a historical conflict, offering satisfying gameplay, a memorable campaign, and robust multiplayer. It's a must-play for fans of classic Call of Duty and those seeking an authentic, impactful war shooter.

It’s historically accurate, emotionally gripping, and it made me rage-quit so hard during a tank mission that I almost committed a war crime against my own monitor. Call of Duty: WWII starts off strong. You storm Normandy with all the cinematic glory of a Spielberg fever dream, bullets are whizzing, limbs are flying, and you’re feeling like Captain America before he discovered body oil. It’s gritty, it's intense, and for once, CoD puts the lasers and mechs aside to honor the noble tradition of shooting Nazis in the face with iron sights and righteous indignation. And then the tank mission happens. Oh, you know the one. You’re shoved inside a rusted Sherman tank that handles like a shopping cart full of bricks, told to “flank” German Panzers that can somehow teleport, and now you’re expected to play World of Tanks with the reflexes of a squirrel and the patience of a monk. The controls? Unholy. Trying to aim in that thing feels like someone duct-taped a Nerf cannon to a drunk cow and asked you to precision snipe from across a battlefield. I spent 15 minutes turning in circles, accidentally reversing into enemy fire like a heavily-armored turtle with a death wish. The enemies? Absolutely cracked. Every German tank is apparently piloted by the ghost of Rommel himself, lining up shots like they’ve memorized every frame of your clunky three-second reload animation. Meanwhile, I’m over here lobbing shells into buildings, screaming "HOW ARE THEY BEHIND ME AGAIN?!" After my seventh death, I started questioning the entire Allied war effort. After my tenth, I unplugged my keyboard and whispered an apology to General Patton’s ghost. By the fifteenth, I rage-quit so hard I felt like I’d invented PTSD in real time. I looked in the mirror, saw a broken man, and still somehow heard a Nazi tank engine behind me. And let’s not forget the game has the audacity to checkpoint you mid-failure. Thanks, CoD. I love respawning 4 feet from death with a quarter health bar and an enemy shell halfway through my soul. Final Verdict: Call of Duty: WWII is a beautifully brutal shooter that brings the horrors of war to life—especially the horror of driving a tank designed by Satan’s game designer intern. I came to honor the Greatest Generation. I left after being annihilated by the digital Wehrmacht and throwing my controller like it owed me reparations. 10/10 campaign. 0/10 tank handling. Would enlist again, but only as infantry.
