MELTY BLOOD: TYPE LUMINA

An incredibly fun anime fighting game, Type Lumina is a sequel to the cult classic original. I find the game to very intuitive and easy to pick up, with simple cancel systems and even an autocombo. However, the game has incredible depth with, primarily, its movement. Melty Blood is a franchise known for its wonderful movement, and Type Lumina easily delivers. The game has double jumping, super jumping, airdashing, and many character specific options that control extremely well. The art and music are absolutely beautiful. French Bread's use of sprites in modern times is very appreciated in age full of realistic graphics, and Raito's music is a perfect addition to any fighting game. The game also has entirely free DLC, custom colors, and lots of fun side content and stuff to unlock and customize. Overall, this is one of my favorite fighting games ever. Whether you like anime fighters, great movement, or Tsukihime, I highly recommend trying it out!

I don't know much about Type-Moon other than some of the Fate anime. That being said.. this game has a nice balance of easy to learn, hard to master controls and combos. Not to mention the sprites are gorgeous! The developer has also made the UNIEL fighting games; which are also very good!

Good fighting game, i think Actress again is the better game still due to roster size and how this game handles its auto combo system, which wasnt present in Actress again, it may very well be cope but i hate the autocombo in this game, still a good time, and glad to see that after about a decade melty blood got some love aside from tourneys held in restrooms

I never get tired of this game, I had it on switch and got it on pc as well for the better net code. Giving all the DLC for free makes it worth it 100%.

its a very fun and easy to learn fighting game with great depth and fun characters, sometimes it can be hard to find a match but its worthwhile. 9.9/10

Melty continues to shoot itself in the foot releasing full priced games like Melty has ever been popular enough to sell well, i love Melty but let's get real these games will never go big unless they either go f2p or they drastically reduce the release price to something like 15 dollars, also idk what is up with french bread and never marketing these games but that's another problem, uni2 got actual marketing and succeeded probably the best one of these games ever has, MBTL is easily one of the most fun modern fighting games out right now, debatably the one with the most depth and best gameplay i'd argue along with the aforementioned UNI2, for all intensive purposes it had the recipe to succeed, all it needed was crossplay, better marketing, and to NOT be 50 dollars for a niche IP, but like i said on my DNF Duel review, FGC developers are too stubborn to realize the price of the games + upto however much more for dlc is the biggest reason more people don't play fighting games, why buy a fighting game + it's dlc for upto 100 dollars when you could just buy literally anything else? or even download the myriad of popular free games right now? the pricing of fighting games is precisely what gatekeeps so many people from the genre, thankfully MBTL had the merit of having free dlc, but still, 50 dollars for a niche IP was never gonna go big, if you wanna grow a franchise you need to have a reason for them to play this over anything else, Melty didn't have that, so it's still niche unfortunately. but other than that, i love this game, i think it's amazing and i'd probably still play it extremely often (even if i do still play sometimes) if it wasn't locked to being Discord Fighter Type Lumina, i really just wanna see Melty succeed man these bathroom tournament jokes starting to hurt my feelings.

Amazing game that continues on the greatness set forth by AACC. Fighting is a lot of fun, though you will have to manually disable easy beat each time you open the game. I like the way they implemented story mode, mixing visual novel and fighting game. The archive DLC is a great addition too. Neco-Arc was done dirty, though.

absolute fun game to play with friends. It's a very easy to learn, especially for those who aren't into fighting games. Not as many characters as the previous melty blood, but the new dlc characters are good. This is basically a reboot of the series since Tsukihime got a remake. DLC is free! Unfortunately in a public lobby, there can only be one game at a time so it can take a bit till you get to play your turn.

Awesome fighting game and on sale,gets deep with the mechanics but you start to learn an go wild,it comes naturally with practice. There's a thing called rapid beat,it's auto combo if you buy the game TURN IT OFF! it will only stop your growth in the game had some great matches,then some dire auto combo matches just straight retards mashing auto input,not even doing cool stuff just mashing boring basic bnb combos literally they are the parasites of the earth,go train an unlock the games full potential. Reminds me of marvel vs capcom ait juggles etc a factor style move to build health etc,I'm starting to master some cool stuff,just remembering it all but that comes with labbing, definitely worth picking up if you like fighting games made by arc too so will get you prepared for marvel tokon. But yea ignore the auto combo sweats just keep labbing then you will over power an dominate them. You will see it appears on screen rapid beat when there doing moves an it's like oh retard alert he's mashing auto combo,the game has so much cool depths an moves if you turn that degenerate crap off. But overall great game I was surprised. Remember rapid beat is auto combo turn it off! Lab in training mode an flex crazy moves auto combo cannot do... literally auto combo if you use it in any fighting game your a full on degenerate,do some labbing clean your inputs up an you will do some cool high end combos an heavy damage.

Played for a total of four hours, trying to learn the game in the tutorial... Hated the game. Entirely multiplayer-based, which I'm fearful is heavily competitive, and has little to no singleplayer value. Story assumes you already know what's going on. The funny cat didn't make up for it. Tried to make a refund, and they denied it, simply because I played for over 2 hours. So I guess it's gonna be sitting in my games list forever, untouched.
