This game is almost always on sale and is worth getting. I just don't like how the game takes away your weapons a lot. If anyone wants a copy I will gift it whenever it goes on sale.

I happened to be visiting Peru in real life as I was in the middle of playing this game, and I can tell you this - do not wear shorts in the jungle. All I gotta say about that!

It's the worst of the 3 in the trilogy, but it isn't bad by any means, more exploration than the previous two, but the combat is less satisfying, there's very little of it in fact, the main story is very short which makes upgrades mostly redundant. If you're a fan of the series you will enjoy it. The story is kinda meh but I'm happy with the setting overall.

This is easily the weakest game of the trilogy. It seems like the writers decided they hate Lara and make her spend the entire game feeling depressed and sorry for herself because she hates everything she has done in the games. I 100% completed the first two games. I love them to death. I won't finish this game. That's how bad it is. The progression from inexperienced young woman just trying to survive to confident and prepared adventurer in the first and second games was great. Now, they decided that the end of her arch should be a jaded, overly emotional whiner who hates herself. Playing as a constantly crying, depressed, self-loathing protagonist who seems to hate everything that makes this series what it is just isn't fun.

Lara's arm strength is stronger than Hulk's! 9/10! 1 point off for those time-consuming and badly designed tomb challenges. Most of them were fun but some of them were just repetitive and plain.

I really enjoyed Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It’s a beautiful, moody adventure that digs deeper into Lara’s character and finally delivers on the “tomb raiding” part. The puzzles are satisfying, the environments are stunning, and I loved sneaking through the jungle like a ghost. The story is a bit slower at the start, and the combat isn’t always challenging, but the exploration more than makes up for it. If you liked the first two games, this is a solid, emotional send-off for the trilogy.

Ótimo jogo, com melhorias visíveis nos gráficos e nas mecânicas. Dá pra sentir que evoluiu bastante em relação aos anteriores. As DLCs são muito boas, e tanto as side-quests quanto as tumbas valem a pena.

Out of the three Tomb Raider games I’ve played in the series, this one is by far the best in my opinion — in every aspect: graphics, gameplay, and story. I really enjoyed the new climbing mechanics, the beautiful moments throughout the game, and that true Tomb Raider vibe — the jungle, tunnels, rivers, mountains, caves, and temple explorations. Even though it’s the only one in the series where the action is less intense compared to the other two, it has a unique and beautiful charm of its own. The game focuses heavily on stealth, which adds a fresh layer of strategy and immersion. The story itself is very well done, giving a little glimpse into Lara Croft’s childhood, which adds depth to her character. The true terror moments — those classic Tomb Raider scares — always came around halfway through the game when you encountered those creatures. I was worried they’d be much harder to defeat than in previous games, but I didn’t expect what happened at the end: those creatures actually become my allies! Super cool! An amazing game, truly fascinating.

this game is just the second game but with zombies in a forest and a horrible map and ui, shitty crafting system, and way too much dialogue out of cutscenes. i do survival instincts and lara just repeats 'have to _' and its so annoying. like, i know you do, i'm the one doing the puzzle, idiot. environment is prettier, and the characters are much more detailed, but i personally prefer the rise of the tomb raider over this.

Gameplay : 9/10 Story: 6.5/10 (feels rushed) Graphics : 10/10 Performance/ optimization : 10/10 Overall a decent game ( 12-13 hr fun adventure), ending made me a little bit emotional. Final rating : 8/10 ( worth a purchase)

Its Fine. Nothing like the first 2 in the series. Story wasn't gripping and quite a few technical glitches that prevented getting fully immersed. Lara's actions (swinging across caverns and mountains like spiderman) really are a farcry from the original survivor game that I love and played multiple times. The stealth aspect is pretty decent, and had some cool moments, but its very repetitive. Skill tree has no impact on the game. Not worth playing unless you've played the first 2 and really want to finish the trilogy.

This game had amazing visuals, good final mission, nice swimming mechanic, but otherwise, it was just underwhelming. The plot was subpar, it did not expand into the rich culture of the area as well as before, and most of all, the game is so buggy it was laughable. Once I see Lara dying graphically in a mudslide five times repeatedly because the next platform does not appear in time, I lose all immersion in the game. The writing has no passion, and why does Lara not speak a single word of Spanish. She's a researcher, she tries to blend in the mass in Latin America but speaks Oxford English. I really loved the underwater, and if I did not want to do buggy missions I just went to some water and dove around. And the final mission was a delight, but the journey you need to do to reach good swimming spots and final mission? Not worth it.

What a Jankfest! The story has the same recycled plot points as the previous two games. The Combat has no feedback expect some uninspired hitmarkers. Half the game breaks if you have 60+ FPS (I was running it at 300-500). Lara clips around the environment and NPCs have learned to walk sideways on buildings. The voice lines are poorly made (recorded and written) especially the side missions. The Graphics are the only up side about this game (when they don't freak out). IF YOU END UP PLAYING IT, LIMIT YOU FPS!!!

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is an exhilarating and unforgettable experience that captures the very essence of what the franchise has always promised - adventure, exploration, and awe-inspiring discovery. From the moment you start, you’re thrown into a thrilling world of climbing, crawling, diving, shooting, stealthily sneaking around, zip-lining through canopies, and hunting in dense, atmospheric jungles. The story is compelling and mature, with fantastic performances across the board. Visually, the game is breathtaking, intricate jungle environments teeming with life and secrets, beautifully lit tombs, and jaw-dropping set pieces that are a joy to explore. What truly stands out is the game’s commitment to exploration. More so than its two predecessors, Shadow of the Tomb Raider embraces its roots, focusing heavily on platforming, puzzle-solving, and uncovering the ancient mysteries hidden in forgotten tombs. It feels like a love letter to long-time fans, truly living up to the "Tomb Raider" name. The jungle setting is rich and immersive, but there’s a lingering hope this won’t be Lara’s last outing. A shift to a city-based environment, perhaps a gritty, atmospheric take set in London, could be a refreshing evolution, maybe even a modern reimagining of Angel of Darkness done right. In short, Shadow of the Tomb Raider is an exceptional game packed with memorable moments and heart-pounding adventure. It’s a fitting chapter in Lara’s journey and a must-play for any action-adventure fan.

This is kind of a mixed review i love the new tomb raider trilogy but i feel like this game is the weakest out of the three imo. The world is bigger yes and is dense. The game play is great and fun but the game can feel too easy. I leveled up way too fast from exploring a lot of the game only stopping bc i was story locked behind an item i didn't have and going through and burning through puzzles. Puzzles fell easy in this besides the light puzzle. the main issue with this game is the story this story isn't that engaging. i didn't care for what was happening and i skipped every piece if dialogue because i just did not care. the dlc is mid at best u get good perks and weapons but its still meh. I give this game a 6.5 out of 10

This game is PEAK, I don't know why it's so underrated. The story is incredible and action packed! The puzzles make my brain actually think in a way that isn't frustrating. And the world building is absolutely phenomenal, every new environment makes you want to stop and stare. Not to mention, the acting put in for Lara Croft's character is insane. Every emotion is caught perfectly and well expressed through the characters. And there is well over 12 hours of game-play for the main story campaign alone!! There is so much more glazing I can do for this game, but it is WORTH IT!!!

A great way to wrap up the trilogy. These were perfect, thanks Crystal Dynamics for renewing a license that desperately needed/deserved it. The level design especially for this game is what hits me the most. The temples, tombs same the jungle itself are amazingly crafted. The gameplay feels good but it's even better thanks to this level design. Every action feels fluid and not forced, I don't know how to truly describe it. Jonah is the best, I love him. Again, get the 3 games discounted. But get them and play them, it truly is. worth it.

I agree with most, that this game is the worst of the 3, Rise of the Tomb Raider is better in basically everyway but if you've played the first two games you should play this one to finish it out At worst its okay, at best its actually pretty good and I had a fun time playing Meh way to end the story of the trilogy though in my opinion so there's that

Beautifull cinematic game.. In the start you see sevearl cutscenes and walk and get into the story, i do wish i could skip these but it wasent possible. Without reveling to much then you have to visit a place where you have to jump from ledge to ledge and climp and rapel down high places and even go for a swim. After this location you end up on a flight on a plane you finaly end up in a smaller open area where you can find your gear and do some side missions. This is kind of where the game open up and there are now not so many cutscenes anymore. You can also now at your camp enhance your skills and gear ect. All in all a pretty game, at times a bit to liniar for my taste but there is a good atmosphere and surprises along the way. If you die you typical start almost the same spot and have to do example the climbing and jumping again to advance.

Definitely not the best part of the trilogy, but I still enjoyed it. The main story is good, the scenery and tomb designs are great. I wish the game had more jungle exploration and less of Paititi, though.

I loved this one. The mechanics in this one were the best of all 3 in this line of tomb raider games. This in-turn made the tombs a lot more thought provoking and challenging. Which I loved! The combat was a lot more challenging as well because the AI is fairly smart and won't stop looking for you. I mean, if there is a way to get them to stop looking, I didn't find it. Also, the story was absolutely amazing! I did find a few times where there were visual glitches. However, they were manageable. Definitely a great game to play and I highly recommend it.

👾 Shadow of the Tomb Rider (🇨🇦 2018) The conclusion of the Tomb Rider reboot trilogy is quite underwhelming. Visually gorgeous and keeps itself faithful to the established gameplay formula. However, the story suffers from falling on the same pattern as the prequels and it’s not even good. 🎮 Played on Steam (PC) Rating: 💀💀💀▫️▫️

Visually stunning, but a let down from the previous games. Where Rise expanded from 2013, Shadow goes in a different direction. Perhaps more of the same would have been a better choice. Instead, the game diverts from the action to primarily exploring and the lack of enemy encounters makes upgrading weapons feel pointless. There are a handful of encounters, but not enough. Thankfully there a plenty of tombs to investigate and this is where the game really shines. Some are easy, some are hard, some are frustrating, but there are loads of them and even more with the DLC. The story is…. Well, it’s something, but I can’t’ even remember it. Focusing on the immediate tasks around the villages kept me going, but damn if I can remember what the overall story was. The collectables are over the top. There are so many of them. If you are a completionist then it sucks to be you. It sucked to be me, but I kept at and bailed after 47 hours. Did I say how good the game looks. It’s easily one of the best-looking games I’ve played and the HDR worked without issues. Decent framerate on my 4080 at 4K with max settings. Easily over 120fps throughout.

Finally finished the trilogy Lara’s journey has come full circle. The world-building in this game is incredibly realistic. The tomb design, the sound, the atmosphere it all comes together to create an immersive and often eerie experience. It’s absolutely worth diving into every tomb and solving each puzzle. The story has its highs and lows. I’d say it lands somewhere in the middle not the most epic narrative, but a solid and definite end to Lara’s journey. Paititi is built out in amazing detail. It doesn’t feel underdeveloped at all it genuinely feels like a living, breathing ancient city. The animation is still among the best even in 2025 better than many newer games out there. The ending leaves a few questions unanswered, but who knows? Maybe Lara will return for another adventure. Great game. Completed it 100% and never got bored. Definitely worth playing. 🙌🏾

This had good and bad bits. Overall the fun outweighed the frustrations for me, I'd say. But the ending does not make that an easy verdict to reach. It's been a long time since I played the first Tomb Raider in this series. I skipped the second. I have changed, my preferences have changed and my recollection of the game is clouded. That said, I didn't really click with this Lara until the end. Despite being somewhat appropriate, the "I am the chosen one" vibes I got from her writing at the start just aren't appealing to me. Then it felt like they were over-corrected into self doubt, which, again, was kind of appropriate but felt off to me. Mainly because otherwise, the things that are causing these swings in writing are quickly shrugged off in the story. Destroyed a town or two? No biggie, theres the next tomb! It felt weird. Towards the end it felt more mellowed out to me, so I got a somewhat pleasant finale experience to the game, writing wise. It didn't help that those "town destroyed" sequences were some of the most unfun gameplay in this game to me. You're sliding along, having to quickly react and make choices but you dont get full control of your camera or character. If theres two diverging paths and you wanna go left but the game feels like you are indicating right, good luck doing anything but dying! I didn't do much beyond main story, so I cant speak much for exploration, crafting and the likes. But the environments I was in were pleasant to look at and navigate. Puzzles weren't always obvious but rarely too tricky. Combat was fun for most of it. Mainly because of the game's stealth mechanics. I spent the entire campaign sneaking up on enemies and doing silent kills. This got doubly fun with the addition of confusion arrows. Unfortunately, this meant in terms of weapons I used exclusively my bow and melee weapons. Others were neither used not upgraded. This became a problem when, for some unfathomable reason, the end of the game turned out to be a boss fight. You cant stealth kill your way through this. Guns would be much more effective than the bow, alas, youve ignored them so far. And to put the cherry on top the mechanics are (imho) not well telegraphed, leading to frustration when the boss just would not die due to lack of understanding how it works. I do not understand why you decide to end a game which has thus far been focused on stealth combat with a non stealth boss. But okay. I did it. That put a dampener on my enthusiasm. Highlight of this game for me was definitely befriending a zombie army. Marching in with those and the music that accompanies them? 10/10, loved it. As said, overall, I had more fun than I didn't. I believe its a good game fundamentally. But whether it be the game's tone or my having changed, I'll always remember the first entry more fondly.

TLDR; If you like turning your brain off and skipping all cutscenes, then buy it on sale. If you have self-respect for your time, then avoid. Puzzles: The only above average area of the game. Not too difficult but I did find myself spending time on some. Dialogue: I did not know dialogue exchanges could be this bad. I am not kidding, you can count 3 Mississippi's in between half the sentences in this game. The NPCs you meet are so annoying. Voice actors tend to have a lot of skills but it seems like the directors told them to put no spirit into their dialogue. The 3 second pauses definitely don't help. Only Jonah and the main villain had any sauce. Combat: The worst it's ever been. The weapons just do not feel good to use. They regressed big time from previous games. Most combat encounters allow you to sneak around, but a bunch of enemies have helmets on, so headshotting them just alerts everyone. So you're forced to melee them to stay silent. You can only watch those stabbing animations so often. General gameplay: Very boring. Just so much wasted time scaling walls, swimming around, and with animations whenever you're interacting with items or transitioning to a different area.

I found this one slightly better than the second game. The visuals showed a significant improvement, and I really enjoyed the jungle aesthetic. The story was okay, the gameplay was as smooth as always, and the puzzles were engaging enough. Overall, it's a solid conclusion to the modern Tomb Raider trilogy.

I just want to say in 2025 there are very less story mode games . People like short period of time game like (COD WAR ZONE , CSGO, PUBG) and before anyone comment "you don't know about games" I also play all these games, but these story type games become a part of life ,like we see movies . GAME FIX! I rarely ever posts reviews at all but this game is actually amazing. The reason i put "GAME FIX' in the beginning is because there was a bug i encountered, I realized that the veterans will know this but since it is on sale and a lot of new people will try this game. There are a lot of bugs in this game as well as other games but in some of the puzzles they won't load due the game game running at a higher refresh rate and with Vsync not enabled. I have not yet finished the game and i will most likely encounter other glitches as well and yet can be very annoying but the good definitely out numbers the bad in this game. This game came out in 2018 and runs buttery smooth (Obviously it depends on the rig you have) but it really doesn't take a lot to run. You can get this game really really cheap and if you want a game to play with a pretty well thought out story then this is for you. It doesn't hurt to at least try it with the cheap price tag atm. I've been tired of all the recent games coming out and decided to give this game a try and i have no regrets. Great game and happy with this purchase.

Decent installment gameplay's as jank as ever with less of a grind for essential game mechanics story does seem to yearn for a longer run time with its attempt at emphasising certain story beats, running all over the place with significant events just to build the ending (classic squaresoft moment) Graphics are graphics, good for the time and the next decade to come 7/10 GG SquareSoft

Game is great. Running around Peru was enjoyable. When going for 100% completion prepare to lose your head. The hardest difficulty isn't even that difficult to be honest. In 'Deadly obsession' difficulty the challenge is in fact: -The loss of parkour assistance -No in game direction -No checkpoints. I would die on several occasions cause the lady couldn't freaking latch onto a wall and swing her axe properly ffs.

I really love this game — not just Laura, but the other characters too. The environments look stunning, every area is designed beautifully, and the soundtrack is absolutely perfect. It all comes together to create an amazing experience. What really stands out to me is how the game handles its characters, especially Laura. She’s beautiful, cool, and strong — and the game doesn’t need to shove it in your face with “w*ke” messaging or constant reminders about empowerment. She shows her strength through what she does, not through preachy dialogue. Too many games these days feel like they’re trying to make a statement instead of just telling a good story. This game respects the player’s intelligence and lets the characters speak for themselves. That’s what makes it feel real, and honestly, that’s what makes it great.

If I compare this with previous Tomb raider Games, i would say this is a solid one. My fav is 'Tomb Raider' but this one is pretty good too. Definitely better than 'Rise of the Tomb Raider' in all aspects. They added some settings to add gameplay more customized experience, which is much appreciated. For example, you can now customize the combat, exploration etc difficulty separately, which made me enjoy the game even more. Game story is fine, combat is fun and and exploration is relaxing. My only complaint is that game forces you to change to some skin for certain quests to progress countless times, and i couldnt take my time going around with the skins i like.

This game's reputation as worst in the trilogy makes no sense. It's exactly the same as the other two. You follow the gamer paint for 13 hours, some new climbing tech is added for variety, and three of the zones are circles instead of linear just like last time. It's not open world.
