Curse of the Dead Gods

Runs perfectly on Steam Deck. I’m really having a good time with this one. Hades before Hades happened minus the characters and it’s much slower so you have to be more methodical, careful and plan strategy more carefully.

Overall a decent game that challenges you in a good way, gameplay wise and mechanically. However, there are some very frustrating things about this game. Sure, it might be a skill issue, but I think it's still important for others to know about these little annoyances before they buy the game. For one, certain attack wind-up animations happen outside your field of fiew, so there is literally no way for you to doge or parry them. Second, sometimes enemy attack indicators overlap with your own attack animations, making the indicators almost indistringuishable, resulting in you being hit. Another point, each run gives you so little resources at the end, that it almost feels like there is no progression. I can understand that slow progression might be a gameplay feature. But paired with so many little annoying things, it really makes the game unenjoyable to play longtime. I'm only 3 hours in and this has been one of the games I regret buying the most.

I consider this to be peak "ARPG" gameplay; - Gameplay is very fun, responsive and satisfying - Good progression, the small grind you need feels seamless - High weapon and build variety - The art design and animations are incredible - Good enemy and boss variety - Well made game in general Gameplay is peak. The game does have a small "roguelite grind", but it manages to do very well being just enough to test the many distinctives weapons, and it is satisfying enough.

Great for single playthrough, but too rng and unforgiving to return for hardcore mode/replaying

10/10 Hades Like Roguelite PERFECT DIFFICULTY! And it somehow doesnt feel repetitive at all!! tons of progression and unlocking to keep you entertained

A good rogue-lite! It's satisfying learning the ropes and gradually getting better and better, which leads to more currency and progress. Interesting curse mechanic as well--some push your luck definitely as well.
