Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition

Standalone expansion for Dead Island. If you liked the base Dead Island game, you’ll like this one too, it’s literally more of the same. Though I will say that this one has some slight issues with some bugs and performance at times. Nothing major, but can be annoying at times. I still recommend it, especially if you’re a fan of the zombie genre! 🧟

-Encounter final boss -Have elaborate gunfight until they enter second phase, turning into a zombie -Use a level 35 chainsaw from the first area of the game to infinitely stunlock the boss -Boss enters second phase and gives infinite rage to the player -spam again and win 10/10 game

A worthy sequel to Dead Island, about half as long, notably more polished. Some of the trailfinding can be annoying pixelb*tching as there are no maps of interior locations, this was defiitely worst in the final docks section - just after entering the docks tunnels down stairs you have to go over debris with a barricaded door in front, turn around 180 degrees, crouch under the debris you just climbed over, *if* you have flashlight on you can then see the exit tunnel. If I hadn't managed to find this on the Internet I'd be convinced the game was bugged and unfinishable.

The island is a beautiful and suggestive setting setting but the game mechanic is annoying, too often you die without an apparent reason : a zombie you can see throw a single knife and you are dead, a Suicider *behind a wall} explode and you are dead, the weapons are too ineffective, you have to strike like a crazy to kill common zombies, the weapons damage , and you have continuously to repair them that means you have to loot a consistent time to gain resource to maintain the equipment efficient and waste time with menus and actions should be secondary. All those factors kill the suspense , the climax in a survival horror that is IMHO a big problem, at the end I feel more an handymen , a blacksmith, a carpenter then an action hero or a zombie killer. Looting should be a secondary aspect, not the target.

They should not have delisted the original when they released this defective edition asset flip.

The game is decent, if you like the original Dead Island.

Riptide Is A Good Continuation of Dead Island.
