Jesus Christ be praised, this is a peasant simulator -- 8/10 The best thing about this game, it's a realistic medieval simulator, the worst thing it's a realistic medieval simulator... so you will suffer and die for a lot of things (Don't forget to save!). The game has a well written story, however I faced some terrible bugs that I had to load the previous saved game in order to continue, another good reason to save often (I spent like more than an hour stuck hunting hares with Hans because the game didn't progress the quest). Took me some time to get used to the combat system and learning master strike helps a lot. This is not a game for everyone, and if you want to give it a shot, remember: you are a peasant, you don't have resources, don't know how to read, don't know how to fight, don't have any support, you are alone and you are just a fragile human being in a ruthless world. Good luck!

What a ride!! At first I found it really weird (especially after just finishing Oblivion Remastered), but then I was hooked. The game is so immersive it feels like a time travel, and I just could not get enough of it. I don't remember the last time I played a game and lost the track of time, going to sleep at 4am because of it. The peaceful horse walks, the amazing landscape, the villagers and the detail in everything. NPCs don't just teleport after saying "meet me there", sword fight is not just randomly clicking and you actually have to sharp it from time to time. Most quests fail and the game continues, forcing you to come up with new solutions. And the story? Oh gosh I thought I was not going to like it but got easily hooked by Henry's story and wanted his revenge as much as it was mine. Love the game!! Can't wait until Kingdom Come 2 becomes cheaper so I can afford it.

Everyone told me "This game is so good! The story is great. The fighting is super difficult, but realistic. You'll see you'll love it!" Honestly the story is good, well written really entertaining. I enjoyed it. The universe is beautifull, full of life. The fighting? ... The worse I've ever seen in ANY GAMES. A lot of people told me "You'll get used to it, just take your time". Anyone saying that are just making excuses for a bad combat AI. Every ennemies are simply pushing until they are in your face. All you can see is their face, then they shove you and stab you. This game is sold as a "Story-driven open-world RPG that immerses you in an epic adventure" not a "Medieval simulator." I personally lost count of the amount time I get ambushed by 3-6 people and all you can do is run away. If you try to fight them they will just press you foward until you get stuck in something and then they just shive you to death. The bad fighting AI removes all the fun from the game. I had more fun playing tarkov with the silent granades than this game.

It is one of the best games I've ever played. The first thing you notice is how immersive it is - you truly feel like a medieval peasant who starts with nothing and slowly makes his way into higher echelons of the world. Along the way you'll complete multiple main and side quests and get to experience many stories, some serious and complicated, some lighthearted and fun, and even funny (though it never feels like it's trying too hard). All this while navigating the world that lives its own life independent of the player (which isn't really true, but the game does a good job of making this illusion appear real): you get peasants going about their day, beggars begging on the city streets, shops opening and closing, bandits setting up and ambush to rob you... The combat system pushes the realism even further. There's two major classes of weapons: bows and melee weapons. Bows are extremely satisfying to use, due to being hard to shoot - there's no reticle, so hitting anything further than a few steps away from you is a crapshoot - but also being very powerful and having the ability to one-shot even fully armored enemies with a headshot. Ironically bows may be the best overall weapons for both crowd control single-target combat. Swords, maces and axes are comparatively harder to use, since the enemies block your blows easily and often have unavoidable counterattacks. This makes combos hard to execute and somewhat pointless. There are also no special mechanics when fighting multiple enemies, made worse by the hard lock-on system making switching your focus hard or impossible, and it's easy to be overpowered by just a few low-tier enemies that would give you no trouble on their own. I think the melee combat could really shine with some fine-tuning of the mechanics, but alas. I can understand why it would be a dealbreaker for some people, though they'd be missing out on the rest of this otherwise fantastic experience. It's a must if you like RPGs or medieval themes.

Right out the gate the combat sucks, anyone who said you have to get used to it is coping. Also be fine with constantly getting stuck in EVERYTHING. Bushes, random holes, piles of wood nest to buildings. I really really wanted to like this game, but the garbage saving system mixed with the random encounters of bandits that will stagger you to death with swords has made me lose hours and hours of progress and even more mental sanity. I only played this because i originally heard about KCD2 and heard you should try this first. If the second game is anything as atrocious as this mess of a game it might not be worth my time.

This game is an incredibly slow burn. Every other RPG I've ever played, you start weak, but still a child of destiny. This game? Henry can't read, fist fight, hold a sword. Nothing. I started the game in 2020 and bounced off hard after only a few hours. Fast forward to 2025 and multiple videos of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 have motivated me to give it another go. It still moves at a glacial pace, but once you're given a horse and can move freely around the countryside, the enjoyment ramps up. I'm about 25 hours in and am committed to seeing the credits roll. If you've ever had any interest in this game, you've probably already tried it. If you haven't but are still curious... wait for a Steam sale. There's no middle ground with this game. You'll love it or you'll hate it. Wait for a sale so you don't have a huge buyer's regret in the event you hate it.

The save system is crap (unless you waste a few hours on alchemy or install a mod), the optimization is crap (it runs worse than games released seven years later), and the combat is crap (outside of duels). The game and its developers are very pretentious and attract the worst kind of audience, making the game's community unbearable. Outside of that, the game is pretty good, but it gets overshadowed.

Such an immersive and well written medieval rpg, something we're kinda lacking a lot of. Just a purely medieval historical rpg. This game is excellent in so many different ways. The story is quite interesting with some fun beats that make it engaging. It's also quite historically accurate, with the small details down to the armor and the architecture being true to the time period. The combat is very in depth and leaves you to your own to strategize properly, making you think before engaging in combat. The realism of the world and the way it forces you into the shoes of the character are spectacular. In full honesty, I don't really have anything negative to say except maybe the camera could be better. A very solid game and I highly recommend it.

only 30 hours in - one of the best open worlds i've ever played. i havn't gotten sucked into a games world since around fallout 3 or oblivion came out. story and writing is captivating and realistic , biggest props to the developers for making the characters talk and act like real people. not anything is really "surface level". biggest hurdle for most people would be the combat, but after a while it clicks with you and is not near as hard, but even then combat is more of a side activity in a way. takes a while for you to warm up to it, took me maybe 4 hours until i got hooked, but this thing goes on sale for maybe 3 bucks multiple times a year.

This isn't a game, this is your second life. It's impressive how this game managed to be so realistic and immersive, it's the kind of RPG that doesn't take any fantasy BS and makes you spend the day like how you would in real life (though it is of course simplified in some areas). In the story you are not some legendary knight that is there to save the entire world, you are just a simple commoner, adding more to realism, which is quite a breath of fresh air. At first I disliked the combat system, but after I came back to the game and tried to master it, it quickly became very enjoyable, with every takedown bringing you more satisfaction and as a message telling you "Good job mate, you're closer and closer to become the best knight." And if you worry about the story content, don't. I played for around 51 hours as of writing this and I don't think I yet reached half of the story, with plenty of activities and locations for you to explore and spend time. This game is to be taken as difficult, and it's totally okay if you don't manage at first, what matters is practice, just like in real life. There is also the Hardcore mode which makes the playthrough that was already hard, even more chaotic, which will be my goal after I finish the normal game and be sure that I am very familiar with the combat. An unforgivable masterpiece.

There is a lot of good stuff here, but unfortunately I cannot enjoy this due to a couple of things: - Forced camera lock in a first person game, where You fight multiple enemies more often than not. - Master Strike making the whole combat system pointless. - Dependence on numerical values of skill is slightly too important for my tastes - You can find yourself performing combos and applying combat rules correctly, but barely hitting anything because the number on the character sheet is too low. This wouldn't be a problem in a less interactive combat system. Thankfully it's mostly noticeable only in the early game. - Tons of bugs and iffy performance 7 years after release. If You don't mind things I listed, You're probably in for a good time.

Icecream with pieces of sharp glass I loved the immersion, the idea and intentions behind the game, you really feel like being the main hero, so many ideas there, very good story telling and intention. I would even say the introduction chapter is totally amazing. But, there are so many issues with the game, making it dangerous to play. - Bugs foremost, still after years I even had to once completely restart game, as one important NPC simply disappeared from the game and nothing helped (tournament herald). - Fight system: On PC, basically impossible to reliably use combos. I managed to pull these off only in 1on1 on flat terrain. But if there are multiple enemies, moving around on uneven terrain, you can forget it, I managed to pull off the most simple one only 1/5 times at best. - Fight system II: If you try to create even the smallest distance, enemies magically catch up and tackle you to ground like Usain Bolt on super-steroids. The mechanics was to prevent baiting and killing off groups one by one, but this is really terrible decision how to avoid that. - WoT features (Waste of Time) - many things there are simply taking too much time without any justification. In some cases most likely a feature should have been and abandoned, in some cases it tastes like intention for the game to take 20hrs just to wash your hands. - Game logic: Or things totally not understandable, just an example: You get so much meat from one rabbit, that you would feed whole city for 1 month, but it spoiles before you manage to get back to town. It is nice, that the spoil timer is 2 days, but as 1 game-day EQ ca 90min, when you reach the city, you have only stinky slime in your pocket. - did I mention bugs? Overall I am happy I played the game, as the positives exceed the negatives in the first play, but at the thought of playing again I get really sick. -- Tried the Hardcore mode after the normal, very good ideas there, but you have to be an expert in the game to be able to enjoy it and I could not bring myself to play the game again ... ever.
Buggy, but beautiful
I picked up this game plus all DLC's for around $4, and it has been easily one of the best dollar/hour spent on a game in recent memory. I think most other reviews have already covered my thoughts for the most part; beautiful open world with untold amount of possibilities and some quirks that may put some people off playing. Combat: If you don't want to be frustrated with combat, SPAR WITH BERNARD!!! Maybe for an hour, that's it. Once you get the master strike, all combat 1v1 is easy. I initially ignored the combat arena which made combat incredibly frustrating. Once I got master strike, I could easily clear out small camps of bandits. Then loot and sell their stuff for profit which let me get better gear which made combat easier. I'd advise against trying to go 1v5 for example because in this game realism will hit you like a spiked war hammer and you'll easily get your arse kicked. Saving: This is the one area besides combat that initially put me off this game. I liked the idea of going back to a bed to sleep and saving, but I do like to explore and the thought of going back to my bed didn't make sense. Well for those who have already played, they know you don't have to. Inn's, rooms in towns you get from completing quests, and camps all have beds to heal and save at. I admit I added just one mod so I could save anywhere I wanted, but after a while I ended up finding a bed to sleep and save at without even thinking about it. Bugs: Unfortunately there are still bugs in this game that sometimes are funny, and others frustrating. Note, I did have that save mod installed, so maybe your experience will be better. Sometimes I'd exit a room without committing any crime or carrying any stolen goods and a guard would initiate combat because I did something wrong. Once I got my speech high enough I'd just talk my way out of it, but still annoying to pay or just deal with. Other bugs could be citizens running through a combat arena and I'd accidentally hit them when I was swinging at the opponent which would be a crime; then all of a sudden I am wanted and going 1v4 with guards. These bugs weren't too common, so after some frustration I could get passed them. I don't think the devs will go back and patch this with KCD2 out now, so you'll have to rely on forum/reddit/other sources to get passed specific bugs if you encounter them. Realism vs. Game: What I mean is, their is definitely an element of realism here and less game. One example would be you don't get a "brew potion" button. You have to gather the ingredients and actually put it together. Put ingredient in, boil for a turn, put next ingredient in, boil, then let cool and put last ingredient in. I initially hated it because I just wanted to get a move on to the next thing. But after a few times, I got the hang of it and came to enjoy it. Overall I think at the prices this game is going for, it's worth picking up. I have not played KCD2 at time of writing, but from everything I heard it's a better game. If anything, playing KCD might give some characters more background when playing KCD2. Kind of like The Witcher 3.

As a big history enthusiast this game was a blast for me. Having said that I still would admit that it is not without its flaws. The story, while slow-paced at times, is really good. The world the developers created also feels quite realistic. Another thing I rather liked are the entries about the life in the medieval times one is able to read as the game progresses. The skill system in the game is enjoyable to use and requires practice to get better, making the game more immersive in tandem with a slew of other mechanics, like: needing to sleep, hunger and cleanliness. Another of those immersive elements is the effect the character’s clothing has on social interaction and stealth. The visual side of the game is quite beautiful with sprawling forests, meadows and fields interspersed with villages, towns and castles. Truth be told, I would sometimes just ignore looking for the next quest objective and go gather flowers in the fields instead, while doing some sightseeing. In terms of combat the game is quite challenging, especially at the beginning, before you can afford a decent armour and learn some necessary skills. Melee combat is rather demanding in terms of player’s reflexes. As for archery the difficulty comes from entirely different thing – the lack of a reticule, which makes aiming a real conundrum. A mechanic I really enjoyed in the game was potion making. Even after unlocking the ability to make discovered potion recipes automatically, I would still spend hours on end manually making them, because of how good the mechanic felt. As for the previously mentioned flaws. In my opinion the combat was a bit too difficult in the early game, while I understand the reasoning behind such decision (the character has no combat experience whatsoever), it still can put a lot of players off the game. Another problem where the immersion breaking, impassable bushes strewn throughout the map. They are extremely annoying when trying to find a shortcut to the next quest location and getting stuck on them can end up forcing the player to reload a save, and that is a real nightmare in a game where saving is tied to having a resource available, an important moment in a story or resting in a bed. In conclusion, Kingdom Come Deliverance is a deeply immersive game with a great, though at times slow-paced, story and stunning environment. The combat is rather difficult and requires fast reflexes of the player to do well in it. While the game has some problems, it is still an enjoyable experience. I would recommend it to anyone who loves both games and history, and is not easily put off by difficult combat mechanics.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a bold and ambitious RPG from Warhorse Studios that sets itself apart by striving for historical accuracy and realism in a richly detailed medieval world. Rather than leaning on fantasy elements or supernatural themes, the game immerses players in 15th-century Bohemia, where survival depends on realistic combat, authentic social dynamics, and careful attention to daily life. This grounded approach creates a unique role-playing experience that feels both fresh and challenging. One of the most remarkable aspects of Kingdom Come: Deliverance is its commitment to authenticity. The game’s open world is painstakingly crafted based on historical research, with realistic towns, landscapes, and period-appropriate characters. Combat mechanics are complex and deliberate, emphasizing timing, stamina, and skill rather than button-mashing. The learning curve can be steep, especially for those unfamiliar with medieval swordplay, but mastering the intricacies of fencing and archery feels immensely rewarding and adds depth to every encounter. The narrative centers on Henry, a blacksmith’s son thrust into a violent civil war, and the storytelling is engaging without feeling forced. Quests often involve multiple approaches—whether through diplomacy, stealth, or direct confrontation—allowing players to shape their own path. The dialogue system and character interactions are nuanced, reflecting the social hierarchy and cultural norms of the time, which enriches immersion and role-playing opportunities. Visually, Kingdom Come: Deliverance impresses with its detailed environments and atmospheric lighting, capturing the rugged beauty and harshness of medieval life. The world feels alive, from bustling market towns to dense forests, although occasional technical hiccups and bugs can disrupt the experience. The soundtrack and ambient sounds effectively enhance the mood, from tense battle sequences to quiet moments in the countryside. Overall, Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a rewarding but demanding RPG that offers a rare glimpse into medieval life with an emphasis on realism and historical fidelity. It may not appeal to those seeking fast-paced action or fantasy escapism, but for players who appreciate thoughtful storytelling, authentic combat, and immersive world-building, it delivers a deeply satisfying journey through a turbulent period of history. Rating: 8/10

Combat system is % based derived from stats and its annoying as hell until you're just powerful enough to trivialize most of it. Also, worst save game system ever. Lost MANY hours of playtime due to how they made it work. Couldn't finish the game.

I have tried every fix in the book to get past a bugged out quest. Multiple play throughs, console commands, mods, coding, -devmode, etc. I have spent 5 of those in game hours trying to fix a problem. And it all has to do with reputation. I decided to play the first one before the second. Now I don't think I'll even buy the other! How the hell do I have a good reputation with Runt's bandits?! I keep failing the Baptism quest bc the game thinks the Cumans and the Bandits are my allies. I've done everything. And now I officially give up. Uninstalled, wish I could get my money back.....

Amaizing graphics, story, roleplay. Combat makes the game unplayable, i've played it more than 20 hours but enough, its my 20th try to just kill 3 armed people to keep going with the main story. Combat system makes no sense, in a one enemy focused system you try to beat 3 people at the same time. I just rage-quitted and uninstalled the game. Definitely unplayable game.

One of the best games I have ever played. It's like Skyrim, but set in a realistic historical setting with no magic and no monsters. Some of the game's mechanics were a little tricky at first, like the combat, for example, but very satisfying to master. The "hands on" approach to alchemy was kinda cool, but was pretty tedious after awhile. The game could be little buggy at times, which broke immersion, but over all, the quest system, with multiple ways to achieve goals kept things moving along pretty well. One thing I did not like was that some quests were time-sensitive, but the game didn't always make it clear which ones really were. Some quests seemed time-sensitive, but you could goof around for days without pursuing them. So this lead me to believe that the time-sensitive nature of some quests was just a facade, only to find that I fail a quest because of a time limit. As far as the DLCs, I really liked the treasure maps, as well as the one that let's you rebuild a town. But the one DLC that is as "must play" as far as I am concerned is "A Woman's Lot." Getting to play as one of the main NPCs brought a lot of understanding of that character, and for me, added a real emotional component as the main character interacts with that character. Minor spoiler ahead:
The main quest that you pursue for the whole game is not really completeable, which is a bit disappointing. Yes, you finish the game and the main story, but you don't actually get to fulfil your two main personal goals.
I gave it an honest effort because everyone was saying "it's a slow burner" so it's going to get awesome later on! But after 7 hours of it, I'm just tired of it all. I had just finished a quest where you competed archery/sword with a lord son or whoever he was, and I just felt myself putting down the controller as the last ounce of determination to push through had faded away— Considering the scales of open world RPG complexity I would put KCD > The Witcher 3 > Skyrim > GTA V ... The Witcher 3 had just the right amount of complexity where it didn't get in the way of the story, instead it lifted the storyteling and overall experience to the next level. While Skyrim and GTA V is more focused on the story itself. Unfortunately, for me at least, KCD went too far on adding complexity for the sake of standing out on its own and it not only got in the way, it just kept feeling unnecessary. Like it felt I was playing puzzles with my controller trying to make any kind of progress than just going about and exploring stuff. I wanted to keep around and see where the story goes, but the gameplay mechanics was such a hurdle that I don't care anymore. Also, for a game so complex, I had enough bugs to also take me out of the experience. The latest one was while I was trying to play the dice game with someone and we went on for a bit too long then a guard came by and kept yelling at me to put up a torch (while nearly no other NPC has to) but I couldnt' do anything because I was playing the game, suddenly I got arrested.... Did that made me laugh? Yes, then I closed the game and went to touch grass because I had lost nearly 30 mins of gameplay because of the unnecessary save system hurdles. This is less of a game, and more of a Sim of sorts because of the attempt in increasing realism through so many interconnected systems... From someone that loves Kerbal Space Program, I thought I would enjoy it the added complexity but nope... KSP is a sim of sorts, but at the end of the day I was having a blast because of its far more intuitive controls to do bigger and more complex things while in KCD the controls, minigames were the complex things to do something simple. KCD is probably in the same realm as Death Stranding, which I haven't played, but I watched videos of it to know that if you liked one, you will like the other, and that neither are for me... I know for the fans of this series, what I said is basically blasphemy for criticizing the devs attention to gameplay complexity, but I just couldn't do it. I am sorry. For people who enjoy these type of sim-games, they will have a blast. For people who thought The Witcher 3 was too hard, I don't recommend this game. What I would recommend instead is Medieval Dynasty for getting the medieval fix. I also try modding the game to see if it made it more enjoyable, but a lot of mods from Nexus are not working, so there's not much you can do to alter the experience to your liking.

Absolutely loving the gameplay in Kingdom Come: Deliverance. The combat is intense, weighty, and truly rewards patience and practice—nothing feels more satisfying than winning a duel you've earned through skill. I appreciate how every system, from alchemy to lockpicking, feels handcrafted and immersive rather than gamified. The lack of hand-holding makes exploration and questing feel genuinely rewarding, like you're carving your own path through a living, breathing medieval world. The RPG elements are deep and meaningful, with choices that actually impact how the world treats you. This game demands your attention, but gives back tenfold in immersion and satisfaction. Easily one of the most grounded and engaging open-world RPGs I've played since morrowind in 2002.

Unplayably buggy after all these years. Great game in there, but kinda worthless if you have to do everything 5 times to get it working properly.

If you enjoy getting all the achievements, especially in a single run, I recommend not doing that on your first try. The best experience with KCD is playing it on normal mode, with all its DLCs, and simply immersing yourself in the world without stressing over tough achievements like Merciful. Play for the story and the atmosphere. Then, on a second playthrough in Hardcore mode, you can take your time hunting achievements. Trying to do everything at once will only ruin the experience. KCD is one of the most immersive and realistic RPGs I’ve ever played. From the very beginning, it demands that you eat, sleep, bathe, train, and progress slowly through real effort. There are no shortcuts or magic—just you, your sword, and your wits. The world-building is spectacular: architecture, towns, forests, music, and even the NPCs reflect an impressive level of historical accuracy. The story is strong, with memorable characters, emotionally impactful quests, and meaningful choices. The protagonist’s growth feels genuine and rewarding. You start as a nobody, but through your actions, you earn your place. And when you finally master the combat system, alchemy, or even reading, the sense of achievement is real. Kingdom Come is not an easy game, nor does it want to be. But if you’re looking for a deep, grounded experience with no fantasy fluff, this is a gem worth living through (at least twice).

One of the most immersive games I have ever played. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone that loves history and those who want to feel like they are a knight in the old days. Beautiful, stunning visuals for the time and a great story line. By all means not perfect, some clothing layers move through each other and the npc's can some times do stupid things like walk into the wall but all together great actors. Fighting makes you feel like you are swinging the sword and shooting arrows feels like a fish trying to use the bow. after your character grows a pair and gains some muscle, things get easier up to the point where you feel like a veteran and no one can beat you. Don't run into combat, thinking and planning is key before you become a human tank.

Dang such a great game. It has old school RPG feels and a really involved combat system that is tough but rewarding. I like the main character and the story beats. The save mechanic is a little limiting but its good that you cant just save scum every interaction.

I had my reservations about this game but I got it on the cheap. After seeing the hype for the sequal, I felt the need to play this original. Going in as an avid solo action-RPG player, I was a little off-put by the pacing. But damn, once I got through the introduction chapter I couldn't put this game down. I'm no expert but I would compare this to Oblivion without the magic and fantasy. It's basically a gritty medieval game that at times felt a little too accurate (for the most part you walk/run between objectives) but thank goodness you have some fast travel. It amazed me how much thought the devs put into the core mechanics. Like if you steal items, they'll be marked and merchants will know they're stolen goods and refuse paying you for them. Or just running around in mud all day, you get dirty enough to where townsfolk look down on you. Details like this for me add to the immersiveness. The story and world is worth diving in to. I was just keen on doing all main quest lines but the side quests are worth doing. My only two gripes are that sometimes the game can be unforgiving and there's no save scumming. Make the wrong move and you're back to your last checkpoint. You can save manually but limited to basically how many save potions you carry but you can purchase more. With the game set on being as close to a life in medieval times simulator, you'd still want to cause mischief but not be held too accountable right? The other, is pacing. It's REALLY slow on account of all the walking you end up doing especially when some quests have you going from one end of town to the other. Stamina be damned! A middling aspect that didn't bother me too much thanks to the internet, are that some quests can be so vague. Like searching for a particular flower in a forest. You're given an area to look and that's it. Luckily you have a dog to help sniff out stuff but even then it get's frustrating as it may not be too obvious. YouTube helps in these instances. Overall, take what seems to be a simple RPG sim into a enjoyable adventure!

Amazing gameplay, story, and roleplay. Combat in this game is amazing with intricate melee combat and if its too much for you you can always beat the shit out of everyone who crosses your path with a hammer.

This game is special. There's really nothing else that compares to it. It's well crafted and memorable. The quest design is superb and often has several options for solving. I still think of some of the quests in this game long after putting this game away.

When you get the handle of the fighting mechanism, you will be fine. Bow and arrow still suck. But the game is fun and feel like you are in the middle age era

Game runs like ass. 4070 TI Super with 7800X3D on Medium Settings at 1440p, game falls into the single digits for some cutscenes and chugs randomly. Dont have this problem with anything else.

I reached out to ChatGPT to help me understand a few specific game mechanics better and he started with “Oh no, you sweet summer squire..” and that alone sums up my experience so far playing Kingdom Come Deliverance 😆 - 10/10 though 🤘

If you’re tired of fantasy RPGs filled with dragons and magic, Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a breath of fresh, gritty air. Set in 15th-century Bohemia, it trades fireballs for longswords, and mythical quests for real historical tension—and it’s absolutely brilliant for it. What sets this game apart is its commitment to realism. You’re not a chosen one. You’re Henry, the blacksmith’s son, learning how to fight, read, and survive in a feudal world that doesn’t care if you live or die. And that’s the beauty of it. ✔ Incredible worldbuilding – The game nails the look and feel of medieval life. Towns are alive, forests feel vast and dangerous, and every NPC has a routine. ✔ Deep, skill-based systems – Swordplay is challenging and rewarding, with a focus on timing and positioning. You don’t start strong—you earn every inch of progress. ✔ Story and characters – The narrative is grounded, emotional, and often surprisingly funny. You’ll care about Henry and the people he meets. ✔ Authentic progression – Want to get better at something? Practice. You’ll feel the difference. ✔ No hand-holding – Quests expect you to pay attention and use your head. It’s satisfying in a way that few modern RPGs are. Yes, there are a few rough edges (save system quirks, some janky animations), but they’re far outweighed by the game’s heart, ambition, and immersion. With mods, you can smooth out many of those small issues anyway. If you’re the kind of player who loves deep immersion, historical accuracy, and true role-playing, Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an unforgettable journey. It’s not for everyone—but for the right player, it’s a masterpiece.

You won't find another game like this. +Haggling system +Great HUD and UI +Reputation system +Enjoyable main story +Many unique characters +Graphics are generally great +Good performance that scales well +Appearance system: enemies react when you are dirty, bloody, etc. +One of the most unique games I've played. Medieval setting with no fantasy aspects +You begin as a peasant in every aspect: you must learn how to read, hold a sword, etc. +Very 'alive' world: NPCs sleep and work, bandits lay ambushes, you can be challenged to duels, etc. +Aspects of realism that add to the game: sleep mechanics, overeating, injured body parts, food decay, etc. +Slow, careful combat. You will get destroyed in the beginning of the game even in 1v1, and multiple enemies can easily overpower you even in late game

Wow, Kingdom Come: Deliverance is the kind of game I'd never thought to play ever again. I absolutely love it, although late to the party.
