So after the first few hours, cannot recommend. The game doesn't offer anything new. The "romance" system seems like a side attachment rather than central mechanic. The buildings are all too generic, and it seems that I'm not playing a "fantasy fable" strategy, but any other generic medieval one like Foundation. The "hero" quests are almost non-existent (had literally ONE which was part of the tutorial), the random encounters don't offer anything much really. The progression is way too linear and I can't influence anything - the buildings are hard-code unlocks, i.e. I cannot progress the way I want to, but rather just hit milestones devs made for me. And I can't look at the bigger picture anywhere, which also leaves me wondering how much is there. All in all, I'm real disappointed so far :(

Fabledom is well designed, seamless, user-friendly, adorable, entertaining, and addictive. Highly recommend this game!

Fact is, the game was fun right up until I beat it. There is little to nothing to do after you get married, and frankly, there's no real replay value as romancing the various characters has no real involvement. Combat with your neighbors is just "send X amount of troops to the neighbor's kingdom, double that and a win a is guaranteed". Combat inside your kingdom is "Send the hero, your troops are worthless and slow." Like I said, it was pretty fun having such simple combat choices while I was playing, but it makes for the experience playing out the same way every time. Is it a good game? Maybe. Would I recommend it? Well, I only got about 10 dollars of enjoyment, personally, but I also deeply prefer replay value to a long first play session.

I tend to lose track of time playing this game! It's so chill and great for listening to audio books or podcasts while casually ruling a kingdom. Definitely would recommend to anyone who needs a low stakes game to play while wanting to listen to other medias!

Recommend it? Yes, because it's an okay city builder. Expect a fairy tail kingdom with weird and wonderful production chains, resources, mechanics? No. The whole selling point of the game the "fable" part is surface level at best, with a few events and decisions here and there. Pigs with little fairy wings are just like normal pigs, just another food item, trees are just trees, you mine iron just like you do in any other game. Of all the productions chains only a few have a minor, surface level change but work all the same as every other production chain in any other game. End game town looks great, and the overall art is satisfying, I only wish they'd just lean more into what makes this game unique.

I LOVE this game- Highly recommend to people who are fans of cozy games, city builders and farming simulators. It got me out of a gaming slump and I keep coming back to it! I am addicted lol Its very easy to pick up and learn, its challenging enough and relaxing. The fairy-tale element is so niche for a city builder game. There are only a few things I would change or ideas for what would be fun to see one day? -More variation and longer running background music. Find it's the same few songs on repeat and then goes silent for a while. -Being able to change or customise the "Hero's" Appearance / hero tree skills (expand abilities) - Adding a seasonal progress bar or wheel / calendar (Would help with winter prep) and Seasonal Decor?? lanterns in autumn, snowmen in winter? - I feel like World Events are a bit unbalanced, there are more negative pop ups than positive. I am currently on standard mode and feel like I'm constantly paying off dragons and wicked witches. And I feel although there's little opportunity in comparison to earn nobility. More challenges would be fun, riddles or characters that pop in like the travelling merchant. - More decorative items and functional items townspeople actually use and you see them using. - Building customisation?? Colours/ paint - ABILITY TO REPLACE PATHS WITH ANOTHER WITHOUT HAVING TO DELETE FIRST (drag new path eg stone instead of dirt to replace) - Easier villager/ job management UI, more help finding and sorting distance, prioritising jobs? - And lastly up-gradable housing, add stories to existing homes ect This aside it is still a wonderful and fun game that I highly recommend!!!!!!

This scratches the adhd itch in my brain, the controls are simple and i have listened to so many podcasts while playing. I'm a perfectionist so i have given up many kingdoms, every one better than the last. Put on some podcast, stream, or show while you grow your medieval magic kingdom. Perfect after or during a sesh. Its funny, cozy music, and you don't need even 50% brain power. You can pause and speed up time, court other rulers from adjourning kingdoms. Its cool

UI bugs (resource numbers being wrong to what i have) and general issues when i hit over 100+ fablings, buildings no longer working, needing to be replaced, etc. I cant recommend a game that's less functional than manor lords.... Super disappointed because its an adorable game with a lot of systems i wanted to get into, but my game breaks before my second condo, let alone the palace.

C+ game, would have given it a neutral score if I could. Look it's fine for what it is. It's a nice chill builder, but the industry mechs just feel unsatisfying. For instance, trying to guess how much your people eat is just that - guesswork. Having to constantly move people in winter from farming to non food producing work feels ridiculous - this game needs hunting / gathering so that food producers continue to produce food during winter as a task rather be reassigned. The hero functions are largely pointless, I could keep griping but the only real problem with this game is there are so many better ones in this genre. You wanna relax for a day or day and just play a builder, get this when it's on special.

I love the unique art style and there have been many updates since I started playing. There are multiple difficulties if you want a challenge and a sandbox mode if you just want to play around. every new game will have differant layouts of the land and you not only build but can interact with the citizens when they make requests and other rulers. Building and understanding everything is very easy and you can speed it up whenever so its never too slow. Defenetldy fun if you love managment and city building, very cute!

Nice, relaxed, chill game to play. On my second run of it i had it in normal time up until i started needing commoners just as i didn't want to rush it and enjoy putting all the bits together and the little homestead details. There's a slight irritation when you're notified you can now get commoners but haven't quite got the things to make the condominium, that is understandable, but when you also need to make the hospital ASAP as your fablings start getting sick at that breakpoint it gets really troublesome to manage things for a bit. The characters are cute, some more name variety would be ideal since they know most people would finish a run with 300+ of them and lots are called Joan or Lopez. I've married 2 characters, will put this down for a while but will happily come back to this again someday when i need a de-stress game.

this game started out amazing. so much fun. but then when you get to the nobles part of the game, theres a bug that causes all your villagers to start starving to death and theres no way to stop it or fix it. and the devs announced a final patch without it being fixed. you cannot finish the game with this bug. absolutely ruined a good game. would not recommend at all.

This is a great cozy fun city builder with the most adorable meeples. I think the story/relationship building could do with some updates on actually building something beyond gifts, and it'd be great if there was more variety to the events that happen. However, the mechanics, UI, and the graphics are hard to beat. If you're looking for something more simple and cute, this is great. If you're a hardcore city builder wanting complex or high-strategy gameplay, this one won't be for you.

Beautiful game with a quirky narrator (I wish he had more voicelines throughout the game) and easy-to-learn mechanics for beginners to city-builders/colony sims, but can be challenging for experienced players with increased difficulty settings trying to survive winter seasons and keep your Fablings (villagers) happy and alive. It's a bit of a silent game with only a small handful of soundtracks for ambiance, none of the fablings have dialogue, only the realm princes and princesses (just subtitles, no voice lines). Where the game lacks in story-telling, makes up for it in appealing visuals and fun construction in your 'almost' randomly generated world. Construction is satisfying, easy and smooth, however, feels a little starved for variety. I have sunk about 35 hours into this game at the time of this review with a couple of different save files, mainly for the fact as I've played more of the game I have learnt what works best and what certain buildings or facilities do, but also for acquiring the games achievements. Majority of achievements can be attained with one save file, but not all, as the marriage in this game is a per-save type of deal with no option for 'divorcing'. For a first playthrough, progression is not exactly slow, but doesn't feel rushed as you obtain new features and facilities after certain population milestones. Any playthrough after the first can definitely feel a lot quicker after knowing how best to place your facilities and housing, and what materials are more important earlier and later in the game.

Very fun, visually appealing game. I will say that it feels like there is no late game or end-game content at all, so when you reach the end, all you have for you is "oh, that's it?" Still needs work but lots of fun nevertheless.

This game is adorable but it does feel somewhat limited. I love the aspect of building my kingdom but it's entirely a waiting game. You can have this game on 3x speed and walk away for a minute or two to clean, grab a snack, whatever. But unfortunately it's a LOT of waiting for anything to be built, new missions to pop up, and more visitors to come and add to your kingdom. Overall, I had a fun time playing it and it was easy to have running in the background while I wrangled a toddler. So business/kingdom management parents out there will love this game.

This game so far has been very relaxing. The tutorial has been really helpful. Love the art style and design of the game. Sometimes you just want a builder that progresses at a comfortable pace. Not just stress inducing, non stop action, because you have to defend yourself against others.

If you are looking for a chill colony sim, this is the game for you. Very relaxed and chill game with a bit of everything. Enjoyed the game a lot with the funny plotline. Unfortunately as this game is relatively chill, the replayability is limited as you will probably get bored due to the relative ease. The higher difficulties are just more taxing having to spend more time and effort to balance the production/upkeep aspects. If you want a more difficult colony sim with more complex chaining of productions, go for Anno 1800 instead.

This game is immensely entertaining, I started playing and just now realized I've been playing for like 5 hours so I think that warrants a good review lol. The graphics and art style of the game are great and the continuous progression of the game to level up your town, complete quests, get better buildings while trying to romance royals is very fun! Although I haven't reached the end of the game yet I am already very satisfied with how the game plays and look forward to continuing!!

Fun and has a fantasy style that mixes well with the city builder genre The resource management is a bit tricky to figure out at first but gets easier to learn over time. The game is very forgiving at the beginning and makes sure you have ample resources to get back on track

I am totally in love with game. I am losing count of time. The Fabledom is brilliant. - pleasing visuals; - sensible, well-thought UI - after spending some time trying to figure it out, you get to understand the game has one of the best workforce management systems among the similar projects; - calming meditative gameplay; - the game seems to be too simple, but it keeps me occupied - there is always something to do, to think about, to rearrange the settlement. right now I am in the middle of my first session, but I don't seem to be tired of scrolling the map of my town over and over, again and again; - the game has quite a set of mechanics - even global map with kind of diplomacy. Update (some cons) - only one, in fact - no replayability value in current state - after you have married - there's really nothing to do in game. Should there be no updates I would perhaps replay it after 3 or 4 years - not earlier. Overall, Fabledom is definitely worth giving a go.

Cute little city builder but definitely has room to grow. The producers really need some balancing - currently larger populations are very hard to sustain because the production does not scale well. The hero is a neat gimmick but half the time he doesn't really do anything, Same with the diplomacy part of the game. I feel like there's room to expand this mechanic a lot. And then there's a few quality of life things that would be helpful - most of all making it easier to reassign workers more optimally as the city grows and allowing buildings to be moved without having to shut them down, remove all workers AND all modular expansions. Still, it works, it's cute, I hope there will be some updates coming to make me want to play more :)

I didn't feel like it was too grindy. Just in a very related topic it didn't answer the question "Why should I keep playing?". Maybe stuff that would eventually make it interesting was hiding behind the horizon. I wasn't interested enough to wait... Hero gameplay seems to be "die and be revived until you beat the challenge". There doesn't seem to be much that you can do actively. Your contribution is to tell the hero where to walk - and then watch him get himself killed by walking right into the middle of the enemies. There are also some signs that nobody at the company ever played the game. In Winter you cannot even see anything on the territories overview. How did that not get fixed? What bugs me the most is the incredibly slow scroll speed. Even at the maximum setting it takes forever. Scrolling to the other half of your settlement shouldn't require a wait time...
