Rising Storm 2: Vietnam

THIS GAME IS AWESOME. I've wanted a good, authentic Vietnam shooter for awhile now. Bad Company 2 Vietnam was good but that game has long since died out and this game scratches that itch perfectly. It's brutal, violent,and unforgiving. Just the way Vietnam should be. I love this game.

This game has the best overall shooting mechanics of any first person shooter I've played. It's a good mix of arcade and hardcore gameplay that requires you to think and plan. The game design encourages teamwork on a large level very well with every squad role and team role playing a difference. TLDR: It's pretty good

good game, sadly the servers are mostly dead and sometimes the few active servers are full. but once you can find a server that's open, that has the modes and maps you prefer, it's great.

The first match I played I was in a match with a bunch of screaming russians on my team as the vietcong 10/10 totally historically accurate gameplay, worth every penny.

A perfect blend between realism and arcade, paired with the best sound design I've heard from any FPS. All weapons are super accurate and deadly, so the time to kill is practically non-existent. Balance is great, even with the two opposing teams having completely different mechanics and weapon choices. Highly recommended if you like "hardcore" or "tactical" shooters but don't want to get into milsim titles like ARMA or Squad.

When i entered this game for the first time in 2019, i was so impressed by immersion of the war in the jungle, role mechanics and weapons generally. Even though developers didnt make everything they told about their plans, game was still good enough to have fun. Unfortunately its dying. Teams are usually unbalanced, and what is sad that there is almost no servers left with the campaign mode.

The perfect balance between realism and casual. If youre tired of Battlefield or find Call of Duty too simple, be sure to give this a go. Usually really cheap on sales and i would say its still worth it full price.

This game made squad and all the other shooters nothing compared to other games in the time

This game is still great. Accessible, fast paced, and it rewards team play.

Highly recommend this game. Nothing beats yelling ‘Địt Mẹ!’ at your screen while expertly ‘Giữ vững vị trí!’ and realizing you ‘Chết mẹ rồi!’ more than you kill. It’s the only game where you can go from ‘Xung phong!’ to ‘Rút lui!’ in 2 seconds flat. Play with friends so you can all ‘Đi chết đi!’ together in style. 10/10 would napalm myself again.

Fantastic game, small community but great to play with friends if you get the chance buy it when its 95% off.

Hai. (you) should play this awesome game & revive it from the dead. It is very fire, the gunplay is great. The game is kinda hard for noobs. The community is kinda good also. But only buy it on sale. If you don't get it on sale its probably not worth it.

its fun, but sometimes a server admin decides to instantly spawn kill you point blank with a rocket launcher or a SBS shotgun for half an hour.

Wish I could recommend this game but for a game that's as heavily team depended as this game is, it would be nice to have some sort of auto balancing or round scrambling mechanic after a rounded has ended. Especially if 1 team steamrolled the other because said team couldn't push out of their spawn or hold a single objective longer than 1 minute.

Yes, but beware. Very difficult game due to ultra realistic mechanics. There is no armor or hit points. So if you get hit out of nowhere, you are gone. And it only takes 1 to 2 bullets or close explosion. There is NO mercy in this game. And it's also very hard to see the enemy, so that ups the difficulty greatly. It is also likely that people have wall or ID cheats so they can see you first. It's also not a very popular game so not many servers have many players. They definitely need to add local offline bot matches like Battlefield Vietnam. This would help with difficulty and cheats if they are used.

This game, really isn't like anything i have ever played, its frustrating then you see the red mist and you want it again and again and again.

Fun shooter . I found that playing South East Asian Forest SFX looped really enhances the sound profile immersion of the game . The jungle insects and birds really suck you in on the jungle maps . Not much communication sadly so its an unorganized squad play 90% of match's . The chopper controls require 100 hrs of practice . The more camo the better and that's an $ 8.00 pay wall . Peak players was about 900 a month ago , now in june about 600 . Avg. servers with players . 6 servers . Weekends about 10 servers with 30 or more per team . No single player exp. sucks and would help with chopper practice outside of the lame workshop . Can't beat it for $9.00 on sale . Sadly mod maps are gone . This game needs to polished and have a stand alone " tour of Duty " single player and practice option . Overall 8/10 game . Older computers can run it with some clean up and elimination of back ground processes .

This game is still incredibly fun even after all this time after release. a unique feel to it Call of Duty cant hit.

Great game, however, you are gonna need a semi-beefy pc to try and run or do some heavy tinkering to get decent fps Grind isn't much, besides cosmetics for your soldier and different variants The game still has a very active playerbase, which is nice Dlcs aren't much, it's just cosmetic packs, buy if you want to look cool and support the devs

This game taught me how to lead men in Vietnam, I have successfully employed those same skills and garnered multiple awards at work and have been rewarded with several promotions. I have never seen combat...

Just like a real GI, I had no Idea who I was suppose to be fighting and before I knew it I was getting ambushed by charlie in the bush and had a one way ticket home with one less leg and the clap.

Load into a match started as the VC start running behind like 6 other teammates into a bunker watch in horror as all 6 guys burst into flames and die do a full U-turn and get the fuck outta there 10/10 would cry again

It's just awesome. Realistic INTENSE gameplay with los sof teamwork

Used to be fun played it too much and now its absolutely horrible

8 years later and this is still the best first person shooter to play with an awesome vietnam setting,

came to fly helicopters and burn up some Vietcong, Left killing GI with a my Uncle Roger's sawed-off shotgun and shooting down helicopters with his mosin 10/10, would buy again during a sale. Fun shooting at guys speaking a language I don't understand

Extremely fun, jank, soulful game. Sadly abandoned mid-development of awesome features like vehicles after the developer got bought out.

The only legit Vietnam war game here. Gameplay is great. Napalm strikes look astounding and real, amazing view and cruel when it drops on battlefield, white phosphor too. Many maps and they are awesome to experience especially jungle ones. Authentic. View from the hill 937 called Hamburger Hill is heroic. As in the real hill 937 and the movie Hamburger Hill. Plenty other views of Vietnam to jump to. Each faction has it own gear and tactic. Good that for VC faction the bushes, grass or leaves prevent you from being spotted. That's cool! This game is better than Battlefield games to be honest. Graphics on ultra/high and a priceless immersion kicks in (still on medium looks nice tho). They knew what they were making when they were making it. Fucking A!
