Life is Strange - Episode 1

one of my favorite games of all time, it changed my life and is the whole reason i went into photography in college, this is a story about Max finding herself, but also YOU finding YOURself, and i think that's beautiful. do yourself a favor, play this game, it has so much to offer in terms of lessons and things to learn. when i played this game as a preteen, i related heavily to Max, now as an adult i have grown and learned who i was and found my own identity, but this game was the first thing to push me into making those strides, and i think that's amazing, this game is one of the many reasons i firmly believe that games are art too.

Dontnod's humble beginnings in narrative game, a joy of a game that's very dear to my heart. It's protagonist, Max Caulfield, means so much to me at a deep level, my favorite character of all time

When this game first came out I instantly wrote it off and now I deeply regret that. The story has some frustrating moments here and there, but as a whole this really hit home.

First of all, I think it's a story one understands only with age. Here, it is very important. The theme of past, present and future is a perfect choice for such a story. Again, relating to what I said earlier, only with age do we start to let go of the past, cherish present and live up to see the future. I think Maxine Caulfield is one of the most meaningful characters in the video game industry; she asks the player a silent question: if you were to change time, right here, right now, would you? As years go by, it is only natural for us, humans, to start missing the past. It is impossible to live without regrets, and even if we don't want to admit it, we all are broken. Life breaks us. We have regrets. If you were to go back and undo your deeds, what would you do the other way? It's funny how many times you could actually change your answer as you see the story go. In ordinary life, we might not notice what our actions bring or take away. As you'll discover soon enough, changing the past is not an option. Even if it was, it is not what's right. As much as the world may be a cruel and unbearable place, we need to accept the past and look for opportunities in present to make a better future. The most wonderful things shall be what we see today. And tomorrow, it'll be a new present to admire and live through. If we'll be reliving the same moment over and over, would that even be a moment still? We have to realize sooner or later: life is strange, but it doesn't make it less beautiful. We can observe so many things in life, we make all kinds of choices, wish for all kinds of stuff, meet all kinds of people. We have to learn to love it. In what other life would you have time to feel how weird it is? All these things shape the world around us. We must bring ourselves to feel real. For every action, there is a reaction. You cannot change the past, you never know what comes tomorrow, but there's one thing you can still do in the present: consider what could make your tomorrow a better day. That's what I started to think a lot about. There are lots of things I could go on about. To think that a game (or games) makes you ponder over so much at once.... wow, crazy.

what an impeccable game. the script, the animation, the story line, the soundtrack, and everything else within this game is so masterfully put together. i 100% recommend, what a perfect game

oh my god. this is a once in a lifetime kind of masterpiece of a game. I'm really at a complete loss of words—I'll never forget experiencing this game for the first time. wow.

Very very fun game, makes you think and honestly has you face your own morals to make some of the decisions.

This game is so cute, play it, it's worth it dude. I promise you even the non-free games are worth it. The story line doesn't have a single gap and if you're anything like me, then u love putting the missing pieces of the story together and finding out when you're guess is right or if there is gonna be a big plot twist. Then u need this game. I love that there are different options for things and that the choices you get to make are decently frequent. I wish there was a way other than play through videos on You tube to see how the story would have progressed if i had chose something else instead. It really hooks the story line to audience within the first few seconds of playing the game.

Life is Strange is really one of the best story games of all time. Revisiting this game you can really see that magic that True Colors and the recent game try to capture, but they just can't. You get so sucked into the game and the side characters to the diner stick with you. Not a single character is forgettable or one dimensional. Even the characters you hate at the beginning (you know who I'm talking about) are incredibly complex and make you sympathize with them. Other then the main villain, every character is likable in their own way. The dialogue can be cringe but it really fits the era and the characters. Probably the most life changing game I've ever played.

I'm really late to playing this game. It was recommended to me by a friend and I think it's very much worth it to buy. The whole concept is amazing and the gameplay is engaging. I really love it a lot and could not recommend it more! <3

Life is Strange really touched me and even made me cry , it’s one of the most special games I’ve ever played the story and the choices make it so unique I just love it so much it’s such a beautiful experience and I REALLY REALLY REALLY recommend it

in a lot of ways its aged badly and can feel like the most 2013 game ever at times but i think that adds to the charm in a major way. a teenage sci fi coming of age story that is one giant product of its time. however it adds to the at times cringe but passionate story that i ultimately fell victim to. sometimes this game can be a bit too on the nose though, like, Max "Caulfield".. really? but its also full of great character moments and fun twists and the gameplay loop is pretty good albeit nothing special mostly because the sci fi elements dont have that big of a role. but yea, good game id say

I am used to playing games like roblox and fornite, fast paced and no emotional depth but recently i wanted to take a turn and go for story telling games and honestly just wow. I dont care what anyone says this game is literally a masterpiece the second i finished the first episode i bought the other episodes LMAO if your thinking of buying it you should because i 100% dont regret it at all

I always saw people online talking about how incredible this game was and how it had changed many people's perspectives on certain things in life, and how the storyline is now rooted deeply into their soul just because of how beautiful of an experience it was. Now that I finally played through the whole game myself, I can full-heartedly say that many tears were shed, as well as many laughs. The game truly lives up to what people say it is. It's an incredible game. The graphics make it feel like an animated home movie. The choice of music in the story is unforgettable. It even made me emotional, since I had been listening to some of the songs long before I even played this game. The characters and their personalities are so well thought of, down to every little detail. There were many plot twists that I personally could never have guessed would happen, a lot of suspenseful moments, and scenes at which I even got a little scared. I got so into the role of playing as Max that I felt like I actually was her, because the game truly makes you connect and feel the things that she's going through, the choices she has to make, and the people she meets. I cannot wait to start playing the next game in the Life Is Strange franchise. Thank you to everyone who put their time and effort into making this game and publishing it. It's truly a one of a kind story game masterpiece.

The anxious teen drama side can be a little frustrating, but very well built game and story with heaps of choices and some hella dark themes. Plays alot like telltale games method on a grander scale.

Peak what can I say. I genuinely thought about not picking a choice at the end but this game is so good I really recommend this game to everyone, it's such a great game and everyone should play it at least once, I'm probably gonna replay it maybe 2 more times, just because there are so many choices. The game is pretty darn tootin awesome :P

Life is Strange was an absolute love for me, and I can't recommend it enough! It has been a long time since I played the game, but I remember enjoying it. There were some flaws sure, but overall I liked the choice based elements and time rewind feature.

Well, it has been over 8 years since I last touched this gem. Back then I got the season pass for 20 euros, which was hella good from what the Square Enix team created. I came back to finish the achievements, and also wrote this review, since this game deserved this recommendation. Great story, some replay value, and a great emotional roller coaster... get it, play it... and don't worry about the dated graphics, it will not matter much in my humble opinion.

a beautiful game where everyone sucks, then gets better, then dies. played for 17hrs straight after first buying it.... will buy the next season soon.... and if they pull the same crap they did in this i will probably cryragepunch my computer into the past. 10/10. i absolutely love/hate everything about every choice in this game. dont expect a game thatll go easy on you feelings. This game will always have a space in my heart. I initially purchased this game because of my sister who loves story, decision-based games and I always play this whenever I miss her.. DONTNOD making a remastered game out of this AND other games related to it like Chloe's side is so uncalled for. Nonetheless, this game will always be dear to me. Thankyou, DONTNOD.

O jogo é muito mela-cueca. A história é sem sal e as escolhas não parecem importar nem um pouco, até demonstra que vai engatar, mas no fim das contas não sai do lugar. Tem gráficos medianos, jogabilidade é ok pra ruim e tem um ritmo extremamente lento. Só tenho esse jogo por que veio num bundle da Square Enix, do contrário não teria comprado. Há jogos de choices matter muito melhores por aí do que. Nem me arrisco a conferir o restante da saga.
