The font's too small. There might be a good game here, but I ain't gonna strain my eyes to find out. Also the intro's pretty atrocious; I don't have epilepsy so I wasn't paying attention to whether there's a warning or not, but regardless. The two things combined felt like my eyes were being attacked. Rare to get a game that deals damage to you IRL these days.

Sadly cannot recommend. The game has been indev for a while and it has a strong opening, with interesting deckbuilding mechanics impacted by your equipment, different styles of combat and a lot to discover. The sound effects as you explore are great ambiance and the interactions with the world feel tense (good) and benefit from learning from your environment and stockpiling resources. So, why not recommend? Well, maybe it'll eventually see a big release, but there's a lot of clunkiness with the UI, there's a ton of bugs, there's a lot of development paths which are either completely meaningless or very poorly supported. But predominently: there's just really not much to do. You spend a couple hours getting access to resources squared away and then it becomes a walking simulator, losing all the tension and resulting in basically a couple of fetch quests which all only have a single line of resolution. Now, for a lot of games under active development I'd say: no big deal! It's EA, that's what EA is, right? Sure. So, I left some feedback after first blush with the game and the dev seemed pretty pleased with it, in the forums here. Came back a year and a half later looking for changes and there's just... nothing. They had a spring event that was supposed to redeem for a code to get a new UI cosmetic thing, and the code didn't work, so I went to the server to ask about it a few weeks ago. Never heard back from the dev, but there's one hostile troll in the server who decided to berate me for my comments saying I was a moron and playing the game wrong. I don't imagine that guy is speaking for the dev, but after a couple of weeks that's the only activity I saw on the dev's discord. So... draw your own conclusions. I'd love to see this game get some polish and a full release, but I'm not holding my breath. Buyer beware.

In Slay the Spire, if a card does something like apply Vulnerable, or Exhaust (remove itself from the player's deck when played), it'll tell you using a tooltip, even if you don't have the card yet (such as if it's being sold in a shop or being given as a reward from winning a fight). As for The Dead Await? Look at these images linked below. If your only knowledge were those images, would you know what "Exhaust" and "Drain" do down to their specific percentages? And no, Exhaust does not remove the card from your deck for the rest of the battle like Slay The Spire. If you answered "yes", then please change the game so people dumb as I am can learn what all of a card's effects are and do, without having to buy and then use it in battle. Slay the Spire did this long before it released in 2019, Alina of the Arena did it in 2022, Monster Train did it in 2020, and Griftlands did it in 2021. There are likely other games that also have these Quality of Life features. Also, the game's intro feels it embodies all the worst aspects of a tiktok - it tries its hardest to grab the viewer's attention while conveying very little information, and makes up for that by trying to confuse the viewer enough that they just smile and nod. I didn't even enter the Bazaar, but this game left a bad enough impression that I no longer care to. I give this game 0 looping animations of a crashing plane with mushroom cloud out of ten.

Love this game. Infinite money glitch was awesome. Can't wait for more to discover. If you are me, then you should buy this game. Me loved it and I can guarantee that you will too. If you are me that is.
