Ranch Simulator: Build, Hunt, Farm

Bought in on sale for 5,74 euro and thought it would be a fun game to play for a little while but the bugs made it unplayable. I'd rather throw my 5,74 euro in a well and hope for luck than buy this game :D If the bugs gets fixed then it could be fun :)

I like the game. Although I get motion sick if I play for to long, There's room for improvement. In my opinion, I would like to see the fallowing: There should be an inventory. You should get at least 4 planks per log. You should get a "Starter kit" out of all the wood and materials that are already on the farm that you have to delete. you should be able to use that wood, metal, other materials from the house, old windmill, crates, barrels, boxes "trash" already on the farm. Also, you should be able to loot (with reset time) the dumpsters/trashcans/ junk from in town to help. "one man's trash is another man's treasure. Also... can we obtain and use that RV at the gas station? The Gas station- should be active. You should be able to get snacks and drinks from a teller.

this is my first review on steam, I've been on here for 3 years, been a gamer for 32 years and have played just about every simulation game you can think of. I must say that this game has enough layers to it that it's worth reviewing, the creators of this game were definitely gamers themselves... play this game if you like simulation games

Worst drive handling i've ever seen in a game, the progression is terrible, there is no notes or any description of what any tool or anyhting is or do, or how to use it so either you just guess or sit on a wiki page for 30 mins for them to explain every little step how to play the game, or just waste time doing things to buy the wrong thing again and again. Just for farming crops you need to spend a ton of money which takes hours to save for and it doesnt tell you that you need to buy everything or else it doesn't work, just a massive headache and frustruation from this game, when you finally save up for a harvester but then you need a tractor because the harvester can't hitch the trailers apparently only the tractor can and you need all the attachments for just doing one new thing. Just a terrible game, I want my time back.

Honestly, I did not expect much from the game, which made a great surprise to find such a fun game with so much potential. The game has a great variety of tasks, cars, animals, ways to earn money, and build your ranch. I recommend it to anyone who's interested in a ranch/farm simulator game. From the available options, I found this game to be the one with the most freedom and the most functional. Although there are some premade farm buildings and stuff, it still gives you a more authentic feeling while playing it. When it comes to the negative aspects, I do feel that the game has room for improvement and would benefit from fixing some annoying bugs or mechanics. When creating your character, it would be beneficial to have the ability to rotate the character and zoom in and out. Additionally, having more clothing options would be important. Introducing more interactive features, such as the ability to sit on couches or chairs, could add more life to the game. The camera functionality while driving could be improved, as it tends to respond poorly during collisions. If you hit a tree or a deer (which are apparently made of steel), your camera will spin like crazy. Therefore, it’s essential to have the freedom to move the camera as you please, rather than having it locked based on the car's movements. Additionally, most cars have a heavy and clunky feel, making it difficult to maneuver them to the sides in certain situations. Although the premade houses are cool, having a house with four beds while playing with my girlfriend felt pointless, so I really wish we could have the possibility to build our house from scratch and as we please. Overall, I look forward to more decorative options and building functionality, along with terrain manipulation tools to modify or raise parts of the ground on my land. The game needs optimization improvements. My girlfriend and I find it incredibly frustrating to collect tree seedlings from the ground. They are difficult to see, and the hitbox is quite small, so, grabbing one by one is by far the worst task. Additionally, the game became oddly laggy when there are more than four buildings on our farm. I didn't explore much of gardening, as I didn't need to, especially after building the granary, since the other crops had no significant use in cooking. When it comes to the bugs, I got bodyblocked by my dog twice and then got stuck in the air, floating. My girlfriend, on the other hand, faced some issues with the pans or not being able to interact with the bed after some time playing, or getting stuck in the petting animation when I was not near her and the dog. The game itself is really cool and I had a lot of fun playing it. However, I found that there isn't much left to do after a while. Having to start over when purchasing the DLC was a bit disappointing; it threw me off a bit. I’m definitely looking forward to the improvements and future updates that were mentioned in the roadmap.

Very good bait. It's a game of quality to pitch money for finishing development, but sold as already done. Everything is done with great detail on surface and bland, bleak and dark once you dive deep just one inch. Idiotic quests, which have no value at all except getting money. E.g. egg + bacon quest - eggs are easy, bacon is not, quest profit is negative in terms of spent time. There is no point to create complex products, when selling ingredients gives ~same profit. What is the point of oil production? This is ranch sim. What is the point of repeatable quest that gives you easy 2500$? I know that player can self impose rules of their play, but why give these options to get money? This game is unfinished and will never be.

Lots of wasted potential on this game. I really would like to love this game but I can't. - Too many bugs - Driving is madness - Managing the ranch is painful. The game is lacking info of how many chickens you have etc. - After the tutorial you're kinda left on your own - I feel that economy is badly balanced They shouldn't have released the game as it is and should have matured it further.

Do NOT buy this game unless you like sitting around. It takes way too long for things to happen, by the time you realise you dont like this game you wont be eligible for a refund because the gameplay and the economy makes it into an actual timesink. Even though the graphics look good the game still feels extremely cheap and low-effort. It feels raw.

Unfinished and not optimized. The issue with this game is that it tries to do so many things while failing at most of them (all except chickens). The deer movements and bullet speed are ridiculous. Same goes for most other predators. Wolves can flip your car, even if it's a large car. Playing solo is almost impossible if you want more than just one industry for income. There is a lack of explanation of things like the cooler, and many other useful items is quite annoying. All that aside, the game crashes when you play it for any prolonged period of time. This is a known issue but the developers haven't done anything to fix it, yet they had time to come out with an expansion!! (wtf?) All in all, if you get this game, and see the fps drop while playing - save immediately. It will crash.

so... im disappointed with the state of the game currently. the controls are clunky at best. the building is a learning curve. dropping things in the blueprint phase of the build makes whatever you accidentally dropped unobtainable unless you destroy it.then to rub salt in the wound, you lose half of your materials just to get it. its actual bs there. i get losing materials on a build that you no longer need that is finished but to do that is crap. this game has been out far too long to still have clunky controls and poor ui. the game is in a severe need for a qol update and control overhaul. and if you drop stuff in your blueprint, either pop it outside, give all material back, or make the character able to grab the items. all i have left to say is im disappointed. had wanted this game for a while and to get it finally and have the same issues as when it was brand spankin new is wild and unfortunate. it has plenty of charm but these issues really break immersion and personally consistently has me quitting for a different game.

Rare, absolute peak piece of shit. Out of optimization, absolutely different game. Trailer was not ugly at all, but game itself... ooh, rare crap. 16 GB RAM, GeForce 3070 and i8 can easily launch STALKER 2, but not this lagging piece of shit

Multiplayer does not work. It takes roughly 41 minutes to get through the tutorial, 35 minutes of trying to tear down the house. After trying to problem solve the multiplayer I found the developer a year ago told people to go through several steps to try and get it to work. The games been out for almost 2 years and the person profiting from the game can't make it work?

Worst optimisation ever, worst driving mechanics ever, boring tutorial and gameplay wasn't even good. I am highly disappointed as I was expecting better from this game. There are definitely Roblox games better than this game out there. 1/5 not worth the money.

Fun but it's basically a jank early access game without the early access tag.

I bought Ranch Simulator at full price and spent about 25 hours in it, mostly playing with a friend. The idea behind the game is solid, but the execution is weak. We finished all the available content in about 10 hours, and after that, it became incredibly repetitive with very limited freedom. What’s most disappointing is the lack of real updates. In over five years, there’s been nothing meaningful added to the base game. We waited so long hoping for new content — and when something finally came, it was a paid DLC that added a new map, not new gameplay. It didn’t improve the game at all, and worse, it made all your progress on the original map completely useless. This is just bad development. The game wasn’t even cheap to begin with, and now they’re asking for more money without giving anything truly new or worthwhile. Unless the devs drastically change course, I highly recommend you don’t buy this game. It's not worth your time or money.

It's fun, and there is a lot of cool aspects to the game. But there are a lot of buggy incidences that hinder the game. There is a lot of room to improve the game on. Could update the UI or add more stuff to the base game and not add dlc stuff. There's a lack of extra stuff to do in the game, and/or maybe auto stuff would be nice to add. There's for sure room to improve on. 6/10

poorly optimized. even at its lowest settings, everything was smearing horribly and made it feel like i was on psychedelics. im sure if you have a nasa computer its alright. but i dont think its worth full price.

Severe motion sickness from head bob / forced motion that cannot be turned off. When you run you kinda drift.

This game is fun, but a weird lonely empty feeling if you're playing solo. The concept is great, it can be very grindy in the beginning, but after sticking to your new career you do reap the rewards after a while, I wouldn't buy this game at full price though, I bought it on sale. I feel as if the audio is lacking in a lot of places which could help with immersion, I am interested to see and watch where this game heads. I have played 21.9 hours the last couple of weeks and I am sad to report that my computer, FROZE. Locked up...it was like Elsa snapped her fingers. ALT F4 did not save me, no tab out, nothing in my computer noted and error, all temps are great, and have no problems playing. I was forced to button shutdown my rig, there was no recovering, the keyboard was not responding...I lost a great deal of progress on this game. I will not play it again, until later on in the development. I haven't had a computer game hard brick my computer this awful since perhaps the win XP era. Am i being dramatic, perhaps. But through research I know I am not alone. I can not in good conscious recommend this game at this time , and yes I am aware it is in Early Access.

i love this game its so much fun but one problem you should be able to hire workers to help you please add in update because it really holds the game back from being a true simulation game

I thought as a ranch sim it would have a lot more to do. See a 2025 roadmap that was announced in april with new stuff starting to be released in summer, now July. Game takes many many hours of standing at a slow sawmill making lumber to sell or build to progress at all. graphics and physics leave alot to be desired, one type of tractor, combine and harvester, for a ranch. Released a DLC that has less or about the same as the original. Unless your looking for a mindless game to play to put you to sleep, save your money!

Multiplayer is busted. No way to invite through steam. Session code just keeps telling my girl it is invalid. Tried the firewall trick, both of us completing the tutorial, and restarting multiple times. Thought oh a cozy ranch adventure for a couple. Nope just headaches and 1hr of troubleshooting wasted. Dont buy if you plan to play with friends

Love the game. Once you learn to drive the car! :D I wish there was more information/guidance in the game, as I have been constantly having to learn the ins and outs from forums in the internet. And i wish there would be more items you can build to make the farm look nicer. But, in overall, I find the game relaxing and enjoyable and would recommend.

Great little Ranch Sim, Money is slow at first but speeds up a couples hours in, all achievements within 110 hours. fun fun.

pretty good for a $5 game, though I wouldn't pay more because this just feels like a badly optimized asset flipper. no grid system to build on. Interacting with garbage that's laying around your ranch just makes them disappear into thin air, no trash bags or dumpsters. The constant rain doesn't water anything. THE DRIVING SUCKS. no snap feature to put all the crap you bought from the store in the trunk of your golf cart organized. Every person you interact looks like they've gone through an exorcism. So if you've got 5 bucks laying around I think this will give you around 5 hours of enjoyment.

Great relaxing sim game... Especially in co-op. lot of different ways to choose from to make money. Played with my wife .. lot of fun!! :)

Good game, enjoy playing it with friends or alone, play with DLSS on Balanced if you want frames though.

It is really an engaging game and worth playing...

Saw this game on sale , so I decided to buy it and try it out . Never did i think I would love it as much as I do . This game is a good fun / chill play alone or with some friends, the open world is great and the there are so many different ways to build and expand ypur ranch. Definitely worth the buy . Will be buying dlc

Trash... I'm glad I only spent 5 dollars on this game, I would have been PISSED if I bought this hot garbage for the full price. I don't know how this game has mostly positive reviews. The animal path finding is awful, the driving is atrocious, the tutorial is a vague nothing burger that doesn't help you understand the game at all. This is a cash grab for sure and the "very positive" reviews would have one (like me) believe that maybe it's actually a decent game. It's not, don't waste your money.

I saw this on sale for 5 USD and decided to give it a chance. I didn't think much of it, but the game quickly changed my mind once I got in. I am loving it. Started co-op with a friend, tutorial immediately gives us guns. BAM. Shot in the face. Res. We do a standoff and both die. Restart from last save. The driving? Ridiculous. Turning the UTV is awful but flipping over ramps, launching off cliffs, riding on the roof and hunting deer while my friend drives. So fun. Like GTA without my car exploding. The actual ranch part of the game: I am only at chickens and pigs right now but I love the gameplay loop. I can see the fertilized eggs in my oviscope, watch them hatch and grow. I can watch the pigs grow, have piglets of their own, raise them. There is so much I want to do. Gardening, bees, pigs, chickens, hunting, helping out the few townsfolk I have found. I love it all so far and am excited to see cows, goats, horses, farming, building, and everything else this game has to offer. I want to have a massive ranch with everything. I look forward to experiencing it all.

Horribly un-optimized. With settings i would run Kingdom Come 120 FPS stable, this game gives me 40 FPS. It's not worth it.

very good game and very addicting game once you get your ranch up and running but very slow at the start.

It's very in depth and fun. There's a learning curve, as the tutorial only covers the basics. But its fun to learn or research, and discover the hidden things in the game. Hoping they keep adding to the game as time goes on.

Hello Ranch Simulator team, I really enjoy playing your game and appreciate all the hard work you’ve put into it. However, the nighttime atmosphere is very dark and scary, which sometimes makes it hard to fully enjoy the experience. I kindly request adding more lights around the ranch and streets, and maybe some life in the town to reduce the eerie feeling. This would make the game much more welcoming and enjoyable. Thank you for your dedication and I look forward to future updates.

+ Budget friendly: i had it for free years ago, but i got the paid version hoping its a better game now. + Lot of potential to be the best(yet to consider) with existing easy to understand management style, good decent game-play and features to explore. + Single and co-op mode with sharing feature allows more fun. - Zero expectation of this game getting any better. - Game disallowing players to progress in the rebuild journey once the player achieve stable income especially once the pig farm is up and running. - Subtle and smooth with decent graphics when you start and taking a U turn once you get going. I AM UNINSTALLING THIS FOR EVER..... NEVER RECOMMEND!!!!

In the current state the game is in, I wouldn't recommend anyone playing $25 for this game. The only way you can drive a car well enough is if you use controller, BUT if you want to do anything else its best to use keyboard cause the controller mapping is awful. That's just scratching the surface for all the bugs in this game. IF the devs work on bug fixing and QOL before adding anything else, I may change my review. As it stands the only way to progress or really do anything after the tutorial is by loading up the wiki, because the tutorial ends after you demolish the old house. There is definitely a good game here, but in the state it's in, it's not worth the price

My utv is possessed by a demon and when I drive it it tries to drag me into hell front wheels first. Mandatory headbob? blech. It also makes it difficult to drive the already difficult to drive utv.

Sometimes when I play with my friend, problems occur in the game, for example, suddenly I cannot drive the car, or suddenly I cannot carry cheese in the game, or if I exit and put the code of the server we are playing on, a black screen opens for me and it tells me I am connecting and returns me to the main page

this game is so bad, can't connect with friend, if you want to play with friends, i suggest you to play another game

Ranch Simulator was a weird experience for me. I usually know exactly the games I would enjoy, and after seeing this game being played I thought it was one. Minute one, though, I hated it. Janky is an understatement; the physics in this game are wild and it makes the primary task(s), Tetris stacking goods into vehicles and then driving them between points A and B, miserable. There also, arguably, are not a lot of mechanics at all much less with depth: no real seasons, limited animals, no processing of wild meat, etc. etc. Yet, it is strangely addictive. After attaching a small trailer to the beginner UTV and getting slung all over the road I thought I was done, but next thing I know I was building a house and barn and seven hours had passed. Could it be better? Absolutely. Should it be? Arguably. But it is fun, even solo, and that is what matters most.

This game is really fun the only hard thing I have found is the build mode does not have snap function and so it is hard to get the fences straight.

Game is pretty fun, does have a few bugs and all but if you enjoy laid back farming games where you'll spend hours just sinking into it then this is your game.
