Werewolf: The Apocalypse — The Book of Hungry Names

The Book of Hungry Names is a text-based adventure game based on Werewolf: The Apocalypse, an urban dark fantasy tabletop role-playing game which is part of the long-running World of Darkness franchise. In this Werewolf chronicle, you create, portray, and develop an up-and-coming Garou as they strive to resolve various incidents in the northeastern United States where entropy, desolation, and destruction spread. Much like in the preceding text-based chronicles created for Vampire: The Masquerade, every choice you make in a playthrough will shape your character's development and relationships with NPCs (friend and foe alike) as the story unfolds. Whether or not your character succeeds will often depend on how well-developed their Attributes and Skills are. Every now and then, your character will need to choose between various actions, each requiring a certain Attribute and Skill. For example, sneaking past enemies and/or picking locks would often require a Wits + Clandestine check, much like in the pen-and-paper World of Darkness games in all their editions. If you are a fan of the World of Darkness franchise and wish to immerse yourself in the setting of Werewolf: The Apocalypse as you play, I would definitely recommend The Book of Hungry Names for you. If anything, my only complaint is that the chapters tend to drag on for quite a while, especially during the Free Time periods in which you can develop your Attributes and/or Skills further. More importantly, like with all Choice of Games' titles, this game does not automatically save its progress unless you have registered and logged in with a Choice of Games player account.

I was introduced to the World of Darkness through Vampire: The Masquerade and I've been a fan since. I've only been into Werewolf the Apocalypse recently, but this feels like it really captured the tone and spirit of its setting.

写的非常细致，好游戏，至少表面上还是给了很多选项。对于纯粹的文字游戏来说，storyteller的数值系统也还原的不错，希望能多出一些关于WoD背景的作品。
