Smart, subtle, and shockingly good: this one lingers long after the credits.
Ever wondered what it would feel like to be Big Brother’s favorite intern? Orwell hands you the surveillance keys to a digital dystopia and asks: how far is too far when safety is on the line? Presented through simulated internet searches, social media sleuthing, and a stripped-down but powerful interface, this game is one of the most immersive narrative experiences I’ve played! The choices are yours: what do you report? What gets ignored? You might think you're just dragging datachunks into files, but your decisions have real consequences, shaping a gripping narrative with multiple endings and gray-area morality at every turn. It’s as if Papers Please had a love child with 1984 and that baby learned to code. There is a catch though : this isn't really a “puzzle” game despite the label (it’s more like an interactive spy-thriller/visual novel hybrid with branching paths and big philosophical questions). That said, I devoured it across three playthroughs to 100% the game and would gladly do more. Whether you’re a dystopia enthusiast or just looking for a smart, haunting slow burn, Orwell belongs on your must-play list, especially when it goes on sale (but even at full price, it’s a steal with around 4 hours of game play per playthrough). P.-S. Stop reading about this masterpiece and go play it yourself. You'll thank me later for stopping you from reading too much. Going in blind is the best way to enjoy it! Orwell excels at making you question your own ethics. The interface is simple, but it sells the illusion of wielding a powerful government tool, which in turn, amplifies the tension every time you decide to reveal or withhold. Because you choose which data to flag and which connections to pursue, you can replay the episodes focusing on different suspects or tangential leads. Each of the episodes can be completed in about an hour. If you enjoy narrative-driven games this is absolutely worth your time. Even though it's on the shorter side, decisions feel weighty, and the tension the gameplay builds is why I wholeheartedly recommend it to fellow fans of story-rich, choice driven adventures.

It's eerie how the events in Orwell mirror the events in America. Great game! It made me think. The storyline was good, pretty decent. A bit too much reading at times, but that is the nature of investigation. A worthwhile experience!

Orwell is a remarkably well made story game that was a cross between a pick your own story and a walking simulator without walking. You have meaningful choices throughout the game that do change the later portions of the story which was well written. The setting was believable and it was satisfying to piece together the information on the characters in the game. I would very much recommend this game if you can spare the 4 or so hours required for a whole playthrough. Pros: -Well Written story -Simple and effective User interface -consistent and well done art style Cons: -The game gives you most if not all of the information on a platter. I think the game could have been better if you had to search for information or had it be a more active experience -The replay time for achievements was a tad longer, I wish I could have made the text display faster or fast forwarded past the parts with no variations

Played through once so far and really enjoyed it. The game was really well thought out, I would have liked abit more control over accessing the information for myself to get all the details before selecting peices of information especially when conflicting but I suppose that is also the point. I'm definently going to be playing the second game. if you enjoy choice based games, this is a good one, it directly affects the characters you observe and the character you play and I'm keen to see what the consequences are in the next game
Orwell: Keeping an Eye On You – 100% Completion Review
All achievements earned, all branches explored, every outcome triggered, full dossier coverage Orwell is a chilling, small-scale surveillance thriller that becomes far more unsettling the deeper you go. Completing everything reveals a deceptively simple game that thrives on ambiguity, restraint, and moral discomfort. You are the operator of Orwell, a government-run surveillance program that scrapes the internet, reads private messages, and compiles personal profiles. You do not break into buildings or interrogate suspects. You sift data, and what you choose to upload shapes the state’s understanding of events. Mechanically, the game is minimal but sharp. Drag and drop datachunks into profiles. Cross-reference contradictions. Make judgment calls with limited context. A full completion run exposes how small decisions spiral into large consequences, often with no clear right answer. What makes Orwell work is how uncomfortably plausible it feels. You start by targeting known suspects. But as the net widens, you begin to doubt your orders, your tools, and your own role. Completing every path shows the full range of outcomes, from quiet compliance to outright rebellion, and none of them are clean victories. The visual design is slick and utilitarian. The writing carries the weight, offering just enough humanity to each character that invading their lives starts to feel like a violation. Orwell does not shout its themes. It lets you live them.

I tried the demo and loved it. The 75% off sale was also really compelling. Some choices may seem a bit arbitrary and hindsight is definitely a factor in "ohhh I should have known" but I had a really great time with this. Got to the end in 5hrs, and I think I will play again to try for a slightly different ending.
