Couldn't be happier that this collection is on Steam, at 25$ this is well worth the money. Also, they just technically shadowdropped the first Castlevania game in like 10+ years?? Crazy work Konami. These three DS games are some of the best Castlevania experiences in the series, just shy of Symphony of the Night. They added many quality of life features including savestates, rewind, a nice gallery and even reworked the damn touch screen seals from Dawn of Sorrow! The one thing I wish made it is I wish they fixed the bugged luck in Dawn (look it up, its kind of depressing) But I understand you probably need the source code for something like that and the game is pushing 20 years old. Was not expecting Haunted Castle remake to be the stand out game here. Its short and sweet, with sexy new pixel art, music and very tight controls. The final boss especially was exhilirating and one of the scariest Dracula forms yet! It's just awesome seeing a well polished Classicvania in the current day, even if it is just a short remake. I would KILL to have CV 1 or 3 in this style! Good work Konami, please remember to start making games again

Excellent collection of Castlevania games for those of us who couldn't play the games on the Nintendo Ds console. The games feel fresh and young despite the passing of the years.

Castlevania Dominus Collection gives me mixed feelings. While the story and mechanics are still enjoyable, it feels like there isn't enough butter to spread on a large slice of bread. You can genuinely feel that the magnificence and charm of the original Castlevania are long gone now. While it remains enjoyable and still tells some nice stories, it no longer feels like the Castlevania we once knew. Despite this, I still recommend giving it a try.

The best castlevania collection in my humble opinion. Fun mechanics to steal skills from monsters, the best pixel graphics in all castlevania titles, responsive controls (especially in Aria of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin, whilst Order of Ecclesia feels more like the GBA titles and is definitely somewhat inferior). Nice ambiance with lots of secrets to discover, good music, even compared to other castlevania titles. I had a lot of fun.

Just beat the good ending for Order of Ecclesia! Great game with charming but aged pixel art. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a casual game to play.

It takes hours to beat each one of these games, if at all. There are many hours of quality content here to enjoy. With all of the games available today, some of them are still these older ones from previous generations. I like that they were well transferred to PC from the tiny screens of our old handheld games. Makes it easier to see and allows you to have a better experience. Music and art from the old nintendo days is nostalgic as well. All three collections are worth getting if your really a side scrolling adventurer.

Three great games for the price of one. Before getting this I'd only played Order of Ecclesia, which was also my first of the franchise, but I can fully understand the appreciation people have for the others.

It is an excellent collection, and is well worth the price. Being able to play all these DS games after so many years is great. The extras a nice touch as well. The art is fun to look at, and the jukebox is great. To my surprise though, one of my favourite additions is the remake of Haunted Castle. They took a terrible old arcade game, and turned it in a stunning, retro Castlevania experience. This collection is worth it just for Haunted Castle Revisited. I would highly recommend this collection for any Castlevania fan.

Awesome collection with fantastic Quality of Life improvements on classic titles that were previously locked to a handheld console. Love this series unlike that uncouth ahh Netflix fanfiction nonsense.

Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow is contender for best Castlevania game, behind Symphony of the Night. I originally thought this growing up, I had played DOS maybe 4 different times on the DS but after getting the collection, I completed the games true ending, and now I believe DOS is first for best Castlevania. But fuck grinding for the final guard soul

I get why people would want SoTN on Steam, but come on broskis, we all already emulate that banger. What we really need is HARMONY OF DESPAIR PLEASE KONAMI PLEASE I BEG YOU! PRINT MONEY, JUST DO IT.

Great blast from the past. Music - 10/10: All the games have wonderful and catch music. Graphics - 10/10: All games look great. Gameplay - 10/10: Feels great. Smooth. These are great follow ups to SOTN. They were awesome titles on the DS (except for Dawn of Sorrow's weird touch screen drawing mechanic, which thankfully has been changed in this). Extras - 10/10: Plenty of extras like being able to listen to each game's soundtrack, there's art galleries as well. Very nice to have. If you encounter intro videos not playing on linux (like Pop!_OS), try Proton Compat 9.0-4 instead of just the hotfix. Works perfectly for me after making that change. Also fully playable in French.

Metroidvania games! Feels so good to go through the maps, explore and figure out what to do. 2D is also comforting. I only played through Castlevania Order of Ecclesia (on GBA) but based on my 20 hours of experience with that and the reviews of the other two games I looked through, this is a very nice package of games to play.

I wanted to like this collection, but honestly, I didn’t enjoy any of the games included. I’m not even sure why, they just didn’t click with me. The gameplay felt stiff, the combat was unsatisfying, and none of them managed to keep me engaged. For context, I never played these titles when they originally came out, so there’s no nostalgia at play here. I’ve played all three games in the Advance Collection, and Aria of Sorrow is easily my favorite. Even Circle of the Moon, the first GBA entry, felt more enjoyable and better designed than anything in this set. At the end of the day, if you’re not a hardcore fan of the DS-era Castlevanias, you probably won’t find much to enjoyment here. This collection wasn’t for me, and I honestly can’t recommend it to anyone who isn’t already nostalgic for these specific titles.

Castlevania left me feet-less. Blown off from playing this fantastic collection. Each title a certified banger and the integration of the collection mechanics, such as 'save state' allow for a user to remove any tedious grinding that could have plagued a user playing on DS all those years ago.

dawn of sorrow: 9/10 portrait of ruin: 8/10 order of ecclesia: 9/10 easily the best set of castlevania games out of the three (four if you count requiem on the ps) collections.
