I like the premise of the game played and enjoyed a good few hours of it. However it became apparent that the maps are made with Procedural generation which caused a loss of a few hours progress. The ground mesh was too high, and an integral interaction was hidden just out of reach. Fortunately the developers have put a button on the title screen to regenerate map, which results it the map being reset... and progress to be lost... It was quite frustrating to lose progress when I was in the last stages of the map. I recommend the game, if you are okay with progress set backs and replaying whole maps. Which as an early access game.... what can you expect. Early Access should be a warning.

I've spent 100 hours living the cozy witch life so I will reka-mend this game. It's a cozy game, you set your crafting stations to work and you experiment on expanding your house. You explore the forest and learn Slavic folklore. You come across quirky characters and weird puzzles. You help the villagers and animals. If you're looking to get lost in cottage-core for a couple hours, you can't go wrong with this game. Also, join the official Discord, it has direct access to the devs and a great community of people helping each other out with bugs and questions. They release updates and bug fixes regularly, even this past week so yes, they are actively developing (unlike some games that seem to have been abandoned). TLDR; Howl’s Moving Castle simulator Yes, it's early access so be prepared to save a lot and to back up your saves.

You have faithful crows, a walking chicken house, practice balance of nature , and are a budding herbalist amongst the most beautiful settings. If you don't want to read further, I love it, would recommend, but it is super buggy! Okay. I'll start by saying I was acutely aware of how buggy the game is before I purchased it, I even joined the Discord to keep an eye on how things developed because this game spoke to me so much. I wasn't quite prepared for how buggy it was, mainly impacting completing quest lines, I can switch off to floating assets and non collectable loot etc, we all have games where we overlook that shizz because we love them so much! Buttt i was so frustrated very early on I actually closed it in anger, and had to make myself revisit it before I uninstalled. And I'm super glad I did, I had another moment of "absolutely not" and hovered over the uninstall button, then things got smoother. So the game is not intuitive at all, there's very little guidance for anything, combine that with the bugs and it will make you super mad, but then you find yourself immersed in the most beautiful world, carrying chickens, being mindful of natures balance, soothing music, and the most incredible cottage/witchy core aesthetic on a house you can command to walk, and you forget the bugs, especially knowing the dev team are always working hard to fix things! I went from wanting to uninstall it to being obsessed, but buy with caution if you get frustrated easily and don't enjoy cottagecore building.

If I could hold my thumb out sideways for this review, I would. It's a good and bad game at the same time. The building part of the game is by far the best part. Making food and feeling them witchy vibes. The mesh for building is is buggy AF, NPCs are buggy as well. (Some have missing text or just don't talk when they should.) Don't get me started on "Resetting maps" because they don't load right the first time. The story is really cool! If it had more story... I get the building part is fun n all. I get that there is gardening and that's cool too! But that's all this game is so far. "It looks cool." I wish(and hope) they come out with more story or in general, more to do in said story. Feels empty at times and all I see are decor updates.. So yeah- Good AND bad-ish game. Try it out! It's got witchy vibes <3 I still play it because I love building my chicken house. Kinda awesome to walk around with your house on legs. I know this game is still new and in early stages. Hoping for the best.

I love the idea of this game and I really want to like it. I understand it is still in development, but it seems every update makes it worse. My biggest issues are 1 - the game has a LOT of lag which makes it difficult to complete even the simplest of tasks. And 2 - so far, the tasks in each new area are repetitive - there is very little or no different things to do in new areas. What I do like, it the premise and the aesthetics. I see where this could be a fun, relaxing game with problems and puzzles to solve. I will continue checking back with the game from time to time and hopefully it will get better.

First of all, the game performance is pretty bad as of now. The game definitely looks like it should run fine on a Steam Deck but it's abysmal (single-digit FPS), so unless you have a fairly powerful machine - skip it for now. On my 13650HX/4080 laptop, the game is playable on high running around 60 FPS. I really enjoyed my initial couple of hours in the game - it's super cozy with a slight dark vibe and you get the option to be evil or helpful to others very early on (although I don't know what the ramification of that is). It's fun exploring and the building feels alright. I am looking forward to exploring the world more and expanding the walking house. I will be updating this review as I do so.

So far, I have enjoyed the game. It has some minor bugs, but that is to be expected. The lore is interesting, the world is beautiful, and the design is cozy. I'm excited to see further updates

I liked the open world aspect, collecting ingredients and building my home however I want (I even found a cat and was able to add it to my house). The story is really cool so far and Baba Jaga has a sassy personality which is fun to experience. The world is cool and the art style is so charming. For sure a new favorite for cozy gaming time!

Cozy little builder with fantastic witchy vibes. Currently not much story, but that's not why I am here. Warning: buggy and frustrating trying to find workarounds.

Very cute and cozy game. The chicken-legged hut is pretty cool, it's fun to walk with it around and create my house on it. I love the style of the game and how many furniture and other stuff you can place. Like this you can create a really unique chicken hut. I like to steal animals from villagers, nice feature. Looking forward for new content and the one or another bug fixes. For everyone, who likes this kind of game: PLAY IT, my friends!

tl;dr: waaay too early access to be worth it now I absolutely despise ''cozy'' games. 99% of the games gets comfortable with a cute art and do nothing to make it intersing, they're just so generic, uninspiring, boring and poorly written. Reka is a very welcome change of pace for the genre. While the thematics of the game are nice and the graphics can be beautiful, everything is plagued with terrible UI and bugs, LOTS of bugs and small glitches. Honestly the last time I had so many problems trying to press the right buttons and getting clipped through walls and floors while interacting with stuff was playing a poorly made Garry's Mod map back in 2013. Which sucks a lot because of how often things like trees floating, people sitting in invisible chairs, weird walking glitches, the fact that you can't have long hair because it'll clip through you while you walk 100% of the time etc etc... happens. This break the immersion a lot, and in this game this is something important. One of the most annoying things are the things related to quests and dialogues. Sometimes NPCs will repeat requests that were already made. Sometimes Reka will know the future and say that I should gather something that someone I haven't talked with yet has asked. I sure hope those things become a priority of the team to get fixed instead of adding new content because the idea of this game, lot of its abilities and atmosphere, are great. I love my little witch in training, and while repetitive, the soundtrack is awesome. I love the weirdness the game presents and this would totally be one of my favorite things if it wasn't the current state of it. The game doesn't look like something made to be available to the public most of the time, but if they keep improving it, and I hope they do, this can be an amazing game in a few years and I'll gladly change my review for it. I wish the best for the devs, but I really can't recommend it in the current state.

I love this Game ! for an early access game the story line and side quest are easy to follow and are always giving me interesting task to complete. I cant explain how much i like being able to collect and incorporate all the Trinkets! into your house build. The customization/ building mechanics are one of my favorite aspects of the game.

REKA is a phenomenal game — atmospheric, layered, and full of potential. Up until the third part (so far), it's been an incredibly beautiful experience, both visually and narratively. There’s a kind of quiet magic running through everything, and it never feels forced. While the game is still in development, I genuinely can’t wait to see where it goes next.

Comfy witch vibes as you build a cozy hut/multi story mansion/humble home, rescue stray cats and wander from village to village solving squabbles with the locals and fae folk alike. Tho be warned.. Cant see past a lil jank from early access? Keep it wishlisted and wait. Enjoying it so far and obviously it's not for everyone. Sure the UI feels like its a PS2 game.. clunky and slow to manage. But strangely, it's comforting.. Forces me to slow down and go with the pace of the game. Charming? Yea that's the word. There's no rush, the only timer is on the food you're cooking. Again, be prepared when playing something before it's fully released, just in general really.

I'm only a little ways in but i can already tell this is a promising game, while it's got that jank of early access games if you get past that it's a very charming and labor of love game.

A few bugs here and there and lacking a little polish but incredibly evocative and moody. It's fun to play as an Old School Witch. None of this modern wand-waving stuff, the real Bones Ash and Candles stuff. help or hinder, it's up to you, but people will know you and respect you. i can't wait to see where they take it. if you don't have the patience for early access bugs, avoid it, but i recommend buying into it early. largely because i want to see it complete. it's beautiful and i love it. also i love my messy chicken house.

BUGGY. I want to love this game. I have played over 10 hours, and I am stuck. The game will not progress, I am stuck on the herbal witch quest and I have to abandon this game for now. I am hoping in the near future this game is fixed so I can play. Game is buggy, it crashed, features do not work, and I cannot progress in the game. Game will be awesome once this is fixed.

Its definitely Early Access, but the Devs are really active in the discord and listen to people's bug reports so I appreciate their efforts. Updates seem a bit slow but they do eventually crank them out. It might be worth waiting for a full release, but its good fun even now if you like decoration and building primarily.

Reka is not only filled with old Slavic beliefs, but its entire atmosphere—combining a dark aesthetic with the coziness of a game—works together almost perfectly. Admittedly, there are some asset errors; sometimes something fails to load, and a character ends up 'sitting' on an invisible bench. But that's the charm of Early Access.

A really great game. The story is interesting, the art is so good, and the overall atmosphere is amazing. Cozy, cottage, witchy vibes. BUT there seems to be issues with the game operating smoothly. I had to fight with the settings in order to get it to operate in a way that's not laggy. And the fact when you get some tasks, the ones where you have to prove you understand how to do something, the game won't let you move forward and starts to bug a bit when you ignore the prompt. Like I get I need to do that but let me collect as many berries I want in peace and feed the little dancing logs before you lose your mind about me learning how to teleport back to the old lady.

Really enjoyable. The graphics are quirky, the game play is fun. Sometimes it's hard to find direction - where you need to go to continue portions of your active quests, etc. I've very much enjoyed everything about the game so far, even with the bugs - but this is early access and the team is working on fixes and doing a fantastic job. I can't wait to see what else the dev team comes up with.

I really want to enjoy this game, but the bugs are making that quite difficult. I understand that's likely the nature of early-access games, but man. Gameplay has been rough. UPDATE: I've figured out the issue and things are running much better.

Oh Reka, my Reka... Right off the bat, the recommendation is because the idea and vision of reka, and the few things we can see in detail have potential to say the least. The story, at least what we have of it is crafted around elaborate Folklore, and strives to remain loyal to it, without drifting off into too feverish ideas of magic and witches. It's cozy, Baba Yagas housebuilding is very neat (it walks!) and at least with the lore they did a lot to pay attention to detail. But... thats the thing... the detail... there is not much of it yet. First, literally. The Graphics are... awkward. Going toward "keep it simple" , yet trees spawning in midair, horizon textures not aligning, a perfectly minecraft-esque river and more like this, together with (at least for me personally) rather empty areas interaction wise, makes this look a little clumsy in some larger parts. Is it finished? No. Is there a ton to do? Meh, i guess it's fair for that development. Does it somehow still capture the mystical air that surrounds ye stories of Baba Yaga, told by many a Babushka in their days? Absolutely. Thats why this is, in my persoinal view, the kindling of a great game, that i desperately hope will be tended to much more, because the care is much needed. 5/10, but a solid 8 for what i think could be possible within the next 6 months.

if this game was one dollar, i wouldn't recommend buying it. if it were free, i still wouldn't recommend it. i was excited for this game. it's a beautiful concept, but it is only a concept. i bought this game when it launched, and i have 2.7 hours of gameplay for a reason: it's practically unplayable and the experience has been ... terrible. i cannot believe they released this game in this state, and after all of this time, i cannot believe they're adding content when these "fixes" haven't improved the game or made it playable. new updates were supposed to "fix" many things including optimization, and that's far from the gameplay experience. it doesn't run well at all, as it lags on all settings, and there are also more bugs than not. it's hard to believe there's a storyline when you can't experience the story. reflecting on this game from launch to present, i suspect it will remain in this state longterm, if not indefinitely. i don't foresee it improving much because it has yet to improve ... not even a little bit of improvement. it's sad to see a game with a beautiful concept be in a state like this.
