Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader - Void Shadows

Having had this in my first full playthrough, I did not always realize the mission I was on was added by it. But by the end, you realize how much of it is truly tied together and a bunch of pieces fall in to place wonderfully. Void Shadows is a great DLC for someone who wants a kickass companion who rips and tears every enemy to shreds, while getting to see the darker grimier realities of life on the Rogue Traders vessel.

The added content is more than the advertise 15 hours. Plus two new "classes", added areas of the ship to explore which the main game desperately needed, and the emo ass GF the game gives you. If you are going to play Roguetarder get this it just makes the base game better

This one definitely has a lot more meat to it than Lex Imperials (other DLC) New melee and d.o.t. focused archetypes are both very powerful and fun to play with, they're not on the level of officers or navigators but they feel unique enough in combat Fleshing out a lot of areas of your ship and the lower decks adds a good amount of immersion to the campaign and the extra quests involving <spoiler>genestealer cults</spoiler> are really well written and give a nice challenge in combat > My only complaint is that the last few encounters being way harder than the rest of the content- obviously it won't be a problem if you are using max reputation vendor gear and runnings officer+cassia Any suboptimal teams will struggle in those few combats (where you were able to do fine in vast majority of cases there is just a huge difficulty spike at the end) Overall though, it's roughly 15 hours as the store page suggests and the things added here are on par with the high quality of the base game, so thumbs up for this one!

I loved this DLC! It was well-written, tightly polished, and thoroughly engaging from start to finish. It also adds to and improves upon the main story, with new NPC's and the like integrated nearly-seamlessly. Of particular note: rather than the endless trash fights prevalent in the base game, combat encounters in Void Shadows feel hand-crafted and unique, with their own mechanics and twists. And ho-boy, I'm never forgetting the final boss of the DLC because that fight is a treat in and of itself. It's a huge improvement over the base game combat encounters, and something I hope Owlcat continues. I can't recommend this DLC enough!

Great dlc that adds two great new archetypes, brilliant companion and a strong story. It compliments the base game very well. My main gripe is the same as the main story in that the ending feels a bit rushed to me. There is a really good tense build up that just suddenly skyrockets seemingly out of no where. Also wish they would add more mechanics for ships and ship combat in the future.

An absolutely brilliant DLC. Perfectly threaded into the game, a really engaging story and amazing an character. Highly recommended. Every aspect is very well done.

Unironically hate this DLC because I hate the new companion, hate the cult, and the game does not give me the mission I really wanted - the ability to hunt down every last member of the Bloodspun Web and eradicate them personally. These people execute loyal citizens because tarot cards told them to and they DON'T EVEN HAVE THE WHOLE TAROT DECK!!! Even if I believed in this hogwash (and it's 40k, so I could) they can't keep killing people while missing half the damn deck! I'm recommending it anyway because it's an amazing piece of content IF you like it. I just don't like it. The game improved immeasurably for me when I disable Void Shadows when starting a new game.

Fantastic DLC that is so perfectly integrated into the main plot you won't even realise.

HATE. LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I'VE COME TO HATE GENESTEALERS SINCE I INSTALLED THIS DLC. THERE ARE OVER 86 BILLION NEURONS THAT FILL MY COMPLEX MEAT BRAIN. IF THE WORD HATE WAS ENGRAVED ON EACH NANOANGSTROM OF THOSE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MILES IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR THESE EMPEROR DAMNED EGGHEADED GENETIC ABOMINATIONS AT THIS MICRO-INSTANT FOR THEM. HATE. HATE. HATE. HATE. HATE. HATE. However, Kibellah.
