Good until around the halfway mark, when David Cage does his fuckery and turns the plot into a bad trip fueled by LSD and contaminated city water.

The story was very intriguing at the start but it quickly falls apart the further you get into the game. I still think this was an enjoyable game despite it.

This isn't your typical negative review. While the game fails mechanically, I'd be lying if I said the cinematography it exudes and the hook to the story weren't amazing. From the camera angles to the subtle plot build ups between chapters. The game executed those areas well. Now time for the bad. Negatives: 1.) Crashes: This game crashes A LOT. I mean this game can crash on start up. It can crash in the menu. It can crash when you tab out. It can crash after save points. If you fail a chapter and try to restart from your last checkpoint- YOU GUESSED IT. Moral of the story is through my play of this game, I restarted at least 10 times an hour. The saving grace is that it can run on a toaster and loading times are miniscule so I muscled through despite the restarts. I have good hardware since I'm playing on a GPU - 3050ti and a CPU - i7 12th gen (It wasn't a personal system thing unless it's the fact that I have a modern OS as opposed to like Windows 7 or less). 2.) Quick Time Event Integration: The QTEs were simon says like "press this button sequence on cue" which isn't really the problem. The main issue with it was that there was QTEs during important dialogue that served no purpose but to disrupt the player's attention from the actual storytelling. For instance "Let's discuss our master plan. Phase 1 of our plan is-" [insert QTE that serves absolutely no purpose for 1 minute straight while the dialogue continues in the background of your attention] 3.) Movement/Camera Mechanics: The movement and controls are terribly adapted and extremely clunky. It's like they had all the resources to keep the control format similar to how it already is on PC and just refine how the mouse works with the camera and just left it extremely janky with you spending more time adjusting camera angles than actually moving which was a personal peeve of mine. 4.) Plot falloff: The plot falls short after a good 60-70% of the game where (no spoiler) they take a meaningful death and just brush past it with no significance and use it as a plot device pretty much dehumanizing the character who was pretty damn important. Couple that with forced romantic tropes that were completely unearned and extremely random in terms of their integration with the actual story and then throw in an extra villain who just appears for the last couple chapters out of thin air. "Hey, I'm bad also. Worry about me." Conclusion: If you can overlook a lot of these things accept the game as the relic it is and play it with low expectations, I'm sure you can find some joy in its story. It's definitely something you will remember whether you like it or not. Some games are just terrible in a way that doesn't exactly disqualify them from some of their values. Realistically, this remaster is terribly optimized though and should really be recalled for improvement (no point, there's no money in that plus 2 decades old ik lol). Do with this information what you will.

Bad writing, weird controls, bad QTE segments, and a lot more, but something about the game has great potential. hopefully a remake in the future with better writing.

Not good with PS4 controllers but it's still fun to play when I was young back in around 2005. I used to play this on the PS2 console. It's good to get this on sales, especially it's like 2 decades old now.

i like but the original from early 2000's have more options and doesn't jump parts of the game

A rare diamond among early games of the genre "interactive cinema". The controls are not simple, but you can adapt. The plot is 10 out of 10
I can see that this was a passion project by the quantic dream team.
It is not perfect by any means (or even close to there) but it was the start of many other passion projects. The gameplay was lacking (Mostly in qtes) but the story is pretty interesting but also Kinda felt like a weird trip.
I'd recommend it to quantic dream fans but with a grain of salt.
[u] It isn't really a Choice Game and Playing with a controller was impossible for me because of the L1 +R1 Button spam though. [u]

Very mixed in quality. Story moves from interesting to just confusing, gameplay is full of long quick-time events, making this an enjoyable game but very rough around the edges. If you are forgiving to it's wonkiness tho, this will still be a positive experience.

I like Quantic Dream’s work, so I figured I’d give this one a try, but honestly, it just didn’t hit the same. The story felt clunky, the controls were awkward, and the overall vibe didn’t pull me in like Heavy Rain, Detroit, or Beyond: Two Souls did. Maybe it was groundbreaking back in the day, but playing it now (even remastered), it just feels... off. I didn’t even bother finishing it. It lacked that immersive spark I’ve come to expect from their games.

The story is quite distinct from what is typically offered today, which is refreshing. However, the controls are quite poor, which was typical for games released during that time period. The QTE is frustrating; it drags on for too long, making it difficult for me to enjoy the scene while also needing to focus on the QTE instead. :( Many times, I find myself completely unsure of what to do, forcing me to look up answers.

A bit tricky at first - the controls, the graphics, the movements.. It's all a bit quirky. That being said, after about an hour you get a feel for it and the story just pulls you in. Really immersive storytelling

Apparently I played this game for under an hour three years ago and according to my achievements the only thing I did was kill Lucas by mixing alcohol and painkillers and then I turned off the game. 10/10. The only thing I remember from watching a play through of this as a child was the ending where the protagonist starts flying and throwing hands with some demon guy or something. Thank you David Cage, I hope they let you lie in court someday

Game mechanics were not so great and the story randomly turning up to 11 suddenly was something. So much stuff did not make sense at all but it was still very enjoyable, lots of respect to the game and the team for being made in the early 2000's and achievements despite many of the flaws.

VERY fun to see QD's earlier work. So many details that have culminated into a fingerprint of their style. This game is 20 years old, and I still really enjoyed the story.

Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered isn't just a game; it's a journey into a unique narrative-driven experience that I wholeheartedly recommend. Even though it originally launched two decades ago, it's a prime example of a title that has aged remarkably well, demonstrating that true quality in storytelling and atmosphere can transcend the limitations of time. It's clear that developer Quantic Dream pours its passion into every project, and Fahrenheit is no exception. From the very beginning, you're pulled into a gripping plot filled with mystery, intrigue, and a compelling supernatural undertone. The narrative unfolds with cinematic flair, keeping you on the edge of your seat as you navigate the choices and consequences that shape the fates of its well-developed characters. The story is genuinely brilliant, offering twists and turns that will stick with you long after the credits roll. While some elements might feel a bit retro by today's standards, they only add to the game's charm and distinct identity. The remastered version smooths out some of the rough edges, making it more accessible for modern players while preserving the original's unique artistic vision. Ultimately, Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered is more than just a game; it's an unforgettable interactive experience that delves deep into themes of destiny, choice, and humanity. If you appreciate games with rich narratives, strong characters, and a distinctive atmosphere, this is definitely an experience worth living through. It's a testament to how innovative game design and storytelling can create something truly special.

I really enjoyed this game! The settings, the plot, the characters are chef's kiss. The quicktime events were something new to me, but it was easy to get used to. I really enjoy the way the story goes, and it's super unique! Definitely recommend. The choices may be limited, but it's still really fun to play.

Although it's hard to praise such a disjointed narrative torn apart by too many influences, playing this is a worthwhile historical excursion into one of the most genius innovations in the medium. Sticking to just one genre would have helped—starts very Twin Peaks-esque, only to devolve into campy ridiculousness. Still, a great artefact and a testament to what's possible when someone works to deliver on their artistic vision with tenacity, all while within massive technical constraints.
