Extremely good fun, but like others have stated it does come with a steep learning curve. If you go in with that in mind, and a goal not to be the best but to have a good time, it's easily one of the best multiplayer experiences you can find. The big thing that sets this game apart from a lot of other pvp focused games (for me) is how unserious it is. Every team objective map is filled with goofy objects to play with, like a giant fish or chickens you can pick up and punch with, there's a wide variety of very fun voicelines and emotes to spam, you can sit in the middle of a warzone and play a harp, so many little things to do just centered on having a good time. If you're open to getting the shit beat out of you in open combat for a while, it is genuinely one of the most fun games I've ever played. And why else do you play games but to have fun?

I was really enjoying this game but now with the new update, Easy Anti Cheat won't launch with error 30005. The website does not help much. The only solution is found on Reddit and the fix is turning off Memory integrity under the Windows security. Nope, not a chance. Fix your game please, for the mean time I will be playing Mordhau.

souls like noob here, never touched a souls , I wanted to test my new GPU and I love ancient medieval wars mythology so I went in expecting something more like a classic 3rd person action adventure thing, I'm a massive casual, though I game often. the game is too hard for me, and I'm bummed out because it is gorgeous. the visuals are breathtaking but the gameplay is not for me sadly.

The game uses EasyAntiCheat. The game wont start because EAC is incompatible with windows 11. My 4 hours are on my old PC that can hardly run these games anymore. Such a shame, wish I hadn't tried to play it because now I can't refund.

Good game, unfortunately its now a dead game. Devs decided to stop updating the game and its only alive thanks to the +/- 3000 players who play regularly. The combat and gore is satisfying, the game might be difficult at first but you do have a tutorial giving you all the basics in combat. The maps are magnificent and the progression mechanics are "fair" basically you can kill any player with anything you have, might be a sword, stick, sh!t or an apple or a litteral pig to throw on them (yes you read that right). During my experience, there were a few minor bugs and i only had 2 games with cheaters. I would reccomend as long as there are at least a 1000 players (below this number its not fun to play)

Amazing gameplay, lacking basic features This game has incredible gameplay and is almost continuously fun while in a match. it falls short in the lack of basic features: - There is no way to join a friends game in progress. (this is a basic feature for online PVP games that is lacking here, the fact you cant join a friends game in progress is actually quite pitiful. you and all other squad members need to back out the match into main menu, then re-add each squad member manually, and then rejoin a match, it feels clunky and poorly designed.) - Controls reset every time the game is launched. (my control scheme layout resets every single time i launch the game. if you are somebody who likes to use custom keyboard layouts you are going to have to put in a lot of work. each and every time you launch the game, it gets old very fast.) Although the gameplay is incredible, and im no stranger to these types of games. i have to vote it down based upon these facts alone. if it changes i will reconsider my review. Torn Boner plz fix

First of all this game is pretty good, the combat and its mechanics is really fun, the tutorial is very helpful, learning curve is not too steep and the game itself is very immersive with multiple maps and factions filled with its own lore. Unfortunately I can't enjoy my First Person Medieval hack and slash experience while the game is filled with high lvl Tryhards using Third Person view trying to get the best advantage playing the game and trashing on low lvl players. Its a Multiplayer game so it naturally comes with a competitive element, i don't mind that but I really want to enjoy this game in First Person view and I can't. Its not for me, but hey if you don't mind with everything I've just said maybe this game is for you!

Honestly I'm going to start this off by saying Chivalry 2 is a fun enough game with pretty good gameplay (although it falls apart in group combat), if you play one on one fighters then you'd understand that the combat is based around spacing, blocking and punishing with the added twist that you can move your weapon with the mouse mid attack. The three main attacks also impose wonderful mix-ups, as blocking will only kill your stamina, it gives the game a certain crackhead elegance in a 1 on 1 duel that outside of fighting games, just don't exist at such a level. My problems with this game stems from it's seemingly endless disdain of it's own player base. All new-content comes with monetisation causing me to question if the devs just want a quick paycheck throwing together a horribly designed map that is clearly one-sided, no private games with friends which means you and a buddy can't even duel unless you go to dueling servers which are ripe with trolls and admins with something to prove, baffling netcode and bugginess that at times just ruin the game on particularly bad days and the above mentioned group combat flying completely in the face of the admitably good dueling system. I want to harp on the group combat because as I mentioned before blocking kills your stamina and the only way to stay on top of that is to parry, you can't parry a bunch of people doing different attacks, this means that getting ganked isn't harder it is exponential harder to deal with and at times that just happens. It doesn't feel like a fault on the players side, it feels like a failure of the game's internal balance. Obviously not advocating to take away team play as there's alot of fun to be had, but again it feels like it's fun inspite of the core combat system, than as a result of it. Add on top of that extremely one-sided maps where one team has to suffer for every inch and the other team just has to acknowledge there efforts to undo all their effort and team mode feels like a grind that either goes perfectly in your favour or a slog that ends in disappointment and all I can say is "Ehhh". I wouldn't recommend spending time with this game unless you already know what to expect and have some friends playing to inject some of that friendship is magic bullshit into the game, because honestly it's just a very hollow experience. It is fun at times, but that only happens when the stars align, the game stops getting in it's own way and this games shitty playerbase either grows a conscience or finds someone else to abuse. 5/10 So much potential wasted on unnecessary bullshit, by a developer who doesn't care enough to wipe their own ass unless there was a monetary incentive and a playerbase that should honestly get out the house more often.

Would be fantastic, were it not for the fact that literally EVERY match consists of one team of new players and semi experienced players, and the other stacked with level 500 plus and all the level 1000 players. Until they take manual team balance out, this game can never be more than mediocre. I imagine it kills their new player retention. I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of new players gets a refund within the first two hours. Shame

I'be been a fan of Mordhau for a good while, loving it (admittedly, almost exclusively for the fashion. But slashing around was fun too). Then I decided to get on this game too after seeing the two-headed polehammer with that lovely handguard, so here I am! Admittedly, I can only really compare this game to Mordhau since I've only experienced the rest of the slasher genre of games through tiny temporary free weekends or the Mirage: Arcane Warfare beta. But still, the impression I've had is that this is a delightfully modernized version of this kinda game, free from a handful of excessively complex mechanics while still being full of fancy mechanics to cleverly make use of in the fights. It doesn't have the full class customization freedom Mordhau has, either, but that actually might be an advantage, since each subclass actually has a dedicated flavor of its own, encouraging one to play in different ways. Fashion-wise, although I certainly miss the inmense level of customization freedom seen in Mordhau, I do have to say that the few fashion options we DO get are often pretty neat and well made, having pleasant amounts of bulk and ornamentation too, if you know where to look. I also like that there's actual lore and a story to this game, shown in each map and stuff, which makes the objective-based matches feel pretty engaging, honestly! If you haven't played any of these games, learning to fight can be tricky and take time, lots of it. But given enough time you might develop the right instincts for it. And honestly, once you do, it feels really enjoyable to get the occasional kill or even out-trick an opponent with a kick or jab to make way for a strike.

By far one of the most entertaining and exciting medieval simulator games out there! It is so easy to sink hundreds of hours into this game, without feeling bored. Whether you're new to the game or a pro, you will always feel like you will have a fighting chance against 5 enemies. Just for a moment, you can feel victory, but then someone comes out with a huge battleaxe and takes both your arms off. Now you can reenact Monty Python in the most humorous manner. Easily one of the best games ever. And with decent performance for most systems, this is a must have.

If your looking for some medieval warfare with solid combat mechanics, this is the best game you can play in the genre. Easy to learn, difficult to master. Epic moments and silly shenanigans keep you coming back. The developers have "finished" the game but the community and servers are far from dead. Don't let the steam numbers fool you, this game is on every platform. You can always find a full server! Jump in, enjoy yourself and don't take the game seriously

After 100 hours of this game- heres my personal opinion. Honestly for the first couple hours, you struggle. It's quite hard to get into (personally), so many things to cover, faints, counters etc etc. However, after grinding my ass off. It does get better. Eventually you'll be a knight slicing your way to the heir or something lmao. Just remember to practice. Practice is key in this game.

This game has hype moments and aura. You are a shitty conscripted peasant clad in whatever they could scrounge up for you to take into battle, and your untrained ass will die for glory and king. Eventually, you will have great feats of renowned chivalry, just to die to some coward hiding behind a bow at the edge of battle. Other than that the community is mostly nice, even if you're a woman, but the transphobia/racism/homophobia tends to go unmoderated and people tend to be highly supportive of it in servers and won't votekick which tells you where they lie in support of.

I'm sure the game is fun but the studio is worthless. There is a non-fixable easy anti cheat error that I spent days in a ticket with Torn Banner Studios just for it to result it them being unable to fix it and tell me I'm out of luck. Do not buy this game as it's apparently been a known issue for awhile and they seem to have zero initiative to fix it resulting in tons of players being bricked out of the game and unable to do anything about it.

fun game devs suck they treat their longest most loyal customers like they're nothing, they cater to skill issues, dont listen to veterans or top players, in fact will do the opposite of what veterans want and on top of all that, they copied mordhau in every aspect of their game except they made it so a 10 yr old can play it so yeah

Chivalry 2 is a wild, visceral throwback to the glory days of medieval warfare—where swords clash, arrows fly, and chaos reigns supreme. It’s the perfect multiplayer melee combat game if you’ve ever wanted to storm a castle, hack through enemies with brutal animations, and yell battle cries with friends. The game nails the feel of medieval combat, with a satisfying mix of timing, skill, and strategy. Whether you’re wielding a massive greatsword, a nimble dagger, or a trusty bow, each weapon feels distinct and weighty. The combat system rewards patience and precision over button-mashing, making every successful parry or headshot incredibly gratifying. Maps are large and varied, with objectives like siege assaults, defending fortresses, or capturing flags that keep matches dynamic and engaging. The carnage is often chaotic but controlled enough to keep things fun without feeling overwhelming. Visually, Chivalry 2 brings medieval battles to life with impressive gore effects, detailed environments, and fluid animations. The sound design—clanging metal, battle cries, and thundering hooves—really immerses you in the battlefield frenzy. The only real downside is that the learning curve might frustrate newcomers initially, and some matches can get unbalanced if one team dominates early on. Still, with active servers and regular updates, the game continues to thrive. If you’re craving brutal, skillful melee combat with friends or foes, Chivalry 2 delivers an exhilarating medieval brawl that’s hard to put down. Rating: 7/10

This game is dying, and the developers killed it. I first went into a lobby and asked what people would say if they were writing a review for this game. They listed their individual hours and gave reasons for why they believe the game is terrible. Some of the hours of these players are higher than my own. They complain that the game has many bugs, and that their are many mechanics that are being abused, when they should just be fixed outright. Many have claimed that there is a consistent bug where a weapon can faze through a defense. Another claim was that the game has several connection issues. You connect to South Asia before ever connecting to say North American East, at least in my own experience. People say the teams must be random because the "autobalance" is not skill based, but count based. And the realization to the new players when they see there wont be new content for this game. All completely valid. The community is terribly toxic. The servers are shit. The matchmaking is shit. The game is slowly dying off. Hardly any bug fixes for the game. It has been two months since the last one. Game is full of cheaters, anti-cheat does not work at all. The developers left the game after only twelve major content updates. Which I am thankful for, do not get me wrong. But when you advertise 64v64, at least dont make it a scam where it is just a 32 v 32 for a MAX of 64. I just feel as though they rushed to the end more than anything. Definitely needs a bunch of work that they would rather not do. Which blows! If you are wondering why people still play the game i can almost certainly tell you it is simply to shit on other players. Both by text and literally beating their ass at the game. There is no other reason to play this game........ NO CAMPAIGN, NO MISSIONS, straight up only multiplayer and all you do is fight with swords. If this sounds fun to you give it a whirl, just get it on sale because it is not worth anything above 15$. It is like For Honor but with nothing special, just as toxic, and no future updates! :)

Fun game, like really fun. But if you have an ounce of lag whatsoever, the entire combo gameplay is gone. You can't predict what the enemy will do or how to block or attack them if everything you do happens 5 seconds after you press the button. Still, super fun.

PROS: >Good combat system, it's just fun to swing a mace around and beat people to death with it >Good tutorial, unlike other games of this type like Mordshit, it actually has a decent tutorial >2 handed maces go bonk >Really funny ragdolls, but no seriously if you get hit by a catapult your body get's send 10 km away at 250 m/s. You have to see it Cons: >Shitty Community, Like HOOOOLY SHIT every single game i've played there was at least ONE asshole in the chat whining about someting. "WEEE 3v1" "WEEEE my team is trash" "WEEEE archers" (ok that last one is valid) BUT YOU GET THE POINT. Like they can't just have fun and play the game, noooooooo! They HAVE to whine in the chat for a stupid reason. >Archers are annoying

Chivalry 2 is an absolute blast! I snagged it on sale, and it's easily one of the best medieval combat games out there. It's baffling why anyone would cheat when respawning is nearly instant. The chaos is part of 32 vs 32 man full of blood or maybe smelly iron pot crusader helmet that full of body odor occur..........is fun! The thriving Indonesian community keeps the game lively and talkative, which is a huge plus. I especially love the flexible camera options; switching between first-person for archers and third-person for swordsmen really lets you tailor your playstyle, with control and graphic that looks like an Assassin's Creed. There's nothing quite like the stress relief of continuously chopping down an enemy even when they already dead wkwkwk. With minimal competitors in its niche, and a battle pass that's practically a steal at under a dollar, this game is a nobrainer. Torn Banner, you've delivered a winner!

Already played on GamePass for ±20h. Decent game, decent community, always a fun thing happening during any game session. Honestly, if you just wanna kill time dicking around with swords and stones, that's gonna be the game you want. There's real skill to grow on there, and yet if you're a noob you can still enjoy and put some decent efforts without feeling like the horse manure on the ground is better than you.

yes this game comes with a learning curve, but as with every learning curve, people can learn faster than others. Just because the game has come out years ago shouldn't discourage you from giving it a shot. Its good fun swinging big axes and swords just as much as it is shooting a bow or catapult. There are so many classes and weapons to choose from and the best part is, if ur good, you can use them all.
