I loved WorldsAdrift. And I like the idea of LostSkies that it will be a singleplayer/coop WorldsAdrift. But it has the same bugs as WorldsAdrift. It has the same game design problems as WorldsAdrift. It's a game that will be best played on PC, but everything is designed for Consoles which makes especially menus annoying with a mouse. Currently, it isn't even a game. It's a tech demo and whoever remembered WorldsAdrift, and it's fate, don't buy it until the devs have proven that they will finish it this time. Currently the devs are prioritizing the development of the world builder over fixing the most annoying bugs that have been well known since WorldsAdrift. So players can make islands for the devs that they can use instead of making there own.

I'll start off with saying "I cannot in good conscience recommend this game to anyone in it's current state." It genuinely has a great deal of potential and the gameplay loop is pretty solid, if you're into survival/ craft games, I'd suggest putting it on your wishlist or following it at least. But do not buy it yet, save your time and money. Some things i like about the game: The resources gathering mechanics were new and fresh to me, I like it more than "swing axe at tree > get wood" in this it's "Fling circular saw at tree > break tree down into numerous parts with said saw (requires a bit more timing/ skill than the later, but it's not hard) > get wood" it was something new to me and I enjoyed it. Along a similar vein, albeit done differently, I liked the mining too and I've personally not come across it before. The personalisation of the Airship was neat enough, if unnecessarily complicated to fly (wouldn't hurt to make the piloting similar to the airships from Forever Skies, less input for every little thing would be nice, but if that complexity was in their vision, I can adapt). The grappling was A+ in my opinion, may need a little tweaking with how much movement you have when just hanging around on a short line (useful for gathering resources under islands) optimisation is decent, when compared to something like Forever skies (with all settings set to high this game has about 90ish fps / Forever Skies 30ish fps.) The reasons for the negative review: I currently have 16 hours in this game, some co-op, some solo, both sides have had numerous bugs. These bugs are the ones I consider a minor inconvenience: Items disappearing from various storage containers AND inventory. Enemies going into a full spaghetti state and falling through the world when getting one shot by the revolver pistol, which means no harvesting them for their resources (specifically the little bug things from mining). These are the Major issues that caused me this Review: Items getting stuck on the cursor when trying to move them from one inventory to another rendering the cursor unusable till you destroy the offending storage container (good luck if it was in your inventory when it happened, because that's a restart). When saving an exiting the game there is an approximate 50% chance it'll just crash instead (I do believe they did something for this with the recent patch, it still crashes but you shouldn't lose much progress if any). The cherry on top was my Airship Disappearing, something that caused my progression to go backwards severely, having lost all items except what I had on me, which I tend to clean my inventory before exiting a game so that was very little. A game where one of the core game mechanics just straight up fails needs serious attention. So until this game gets said "serious attention" from the Devs I will be putting it down, and leaving this review up, when/ if it changes so will this review. If you've read this entire review/ wall of text then you deserve a cookie (you'll just have to make it yourself first), good luck and happy gaming to everyone.

Still in EA, which isn't inherently an issue. However there's game state breaking bugs, mutliplayer item sync issues, and I've lost a 20 hour coop playthrough because the world save state is bugged and no one can join. We'll be putting this one down until there's some major updates. Latest update at time of writing = Hotfix#4

Worlds adrift but if every enemy could 2 tap you, had less content and was 100x buggier, so glad that game died just for this thing to pop up and try to take its place, wouldn't be surprised if they shut this one down too, has no charm at all, you'll never come across another player so unless you enjoy sailing through the air with no objective, don't pick it up, give it a few years to see if they even bother finishing this one.

It's like being Spiderman if Spiderman had one arm, a glider suit, and instead of protecting the people of Manhattan, he was a sky pirate stealing the loot of deceased persons to help build his sky ship and build weapons to protect himself from robot drones and bloody flying stingrays. 1/10 Spiderman simulator. 7/10 overall. A bit buggy atm, but pretty good

There may be a point at which this game becomes playable but that isnt this year. Physics glitches, broken puzzles, bugged inventory management and poor optimization will be the least of your worries. Your ship can spontaneously decide to fly off without you even after being docked to a station, leaving you stranded. Worse, it can BECOME PERMANENTLY MAGNETIZED TO THE STATION, dragged back into the center of the build bubble no matter how much force you try to use to leave. attempting to even move in this state applies both the station drag force and the ship's movement force simultaneously, so you can die from impact damage while standing at the helm. you cant even dismantle the station in this state. All these problems and more increase if you try to play multiplayer, which is the entire point of the game.

Played for about 15 hours without issues but not my game is entirely softlocked on one character who has apparently completely forgotten how to craft. Nothing fixes this and it seems like a pretty common bug. Do not buy until fixed. UPDATE: this issue seems to be caused by having metal in your inventory and seemingly occurs randomly after learning a schematic. You can find a mod on the Thunderstore to fix this. Still, the more I play this game the more it pisses me off. The core gameplay loop is fun and this game has probably the best grappling hook in any game I've played but every single island has some bullshit that just makes the game frustrating and the problem is worse because there's seemingly very few actually well designed islands and the rest are shitty community jumping puzzles that are borderline impossible to do legitimately for a pitiful reward.

Reality Check for the game. Comprehensive Feedback to mention (1- Bugs 2- cons of gameplay 3- pros of gameplay) If you don't wanna read all essay There are 12 Bugs that happen ALLLL the time, 19 cons, and 7 pros. Early Access is a scam,If they had a single play tester they can tell this game ISN'T READY!! The fact that they launched their game on early access is scary, and might mean they are abandoning ship!(no pun intended) Basicly huge game bugs that makes the game unplayable. 1- Save files corruption (you might lose your world progress when exiting game, ship upgrades and Loot!!!) 2-Bugged Mechanics (imagine trying to solve a puzzle with ACTUAL MISSING PIECES, levers, buttons, lasers can disappear or stop functioning or simply not openning doors AND GUESS WHAT, THE GAME IS ABOUT PUZZELS!) 3-Disappearing world objects (Some portions of the world can disappear and reappear if you hold aim button, WTF is that bug??) 4-Wall Clipping (Ship clips in island gets destroyed, Clip in the ship you die, you clip in wall you die and it happens 24/7 till you lose all your loot) 5-Broken entities (Entities Glitch out and disappear when killed so you can't farm them, some entities jump off the island that you spent 20 minutes trying to reach so you can farm them but they decide to sacrafice themselves.) 6-Broken UI (chests become unaccessable till you restart, ship sails unuseable till you restart, items attached to cursor) 7-Broken Movement (character turns 180 degrees randomly, black secreen on certain looking angles, character teleports off ship and dies to the void and lose loot WOW! IN A LOOT GAME!) 8-Ship building (parts that do fit clearly in a certain space cannot be placed and vice versa 9-Glitchy Co-op (items and levels are all messed up when playing in co-op, some disappearing, some resetting their levels, rejoining server=infinite loading until you restart the game.) 10-Irretrievable items (some items become irretrievable even tho they should be retrieved normally) 11-LOOT SPAWNING UNDERGROUND!! BRO THIS IS A LOOT DEPENDING GAME!!!!! DONT MAKE LOOT UNDERGROUND!!! 12-Exploding inventory chests (when you break inventory chests after some series of events they double their loot and spit it out, its a happy moment but its a bug) WOW so many glitches how about we stop fixing the game and launch it in EA for 20$+ and work on something else!! now for the cons of gameplay. 0-(I added this here due to how important this is) THE WORLD IS TINY! and it doesn't generate and has around 30-40 islands (I am sorry worlds adrift fans) OH AND THERE IS NO CROSSING BARRIER, when you reach the cloud wall they just bounce you off and say you reached the max end, 1-Unbalanced enemies (there is a "Tank robot" that is stronger than endgame boss that can wipe you and your ship in 10 seconds, and flying sting rays that are more tanky than an anti-air turret and they also one shot you but not the ship) 2-Farming almost non existing entities (some upgrades require you to look for a certain creature that exists in 1 out of 10 islands and guess what? they jump off the island when they spawn) 3-Puzzles (some puzzle mechanics are not being utilized properly like lifting heavy objects) 4-Useless schematics (many useless schematics, some doing absolutely nothing) 5-No natural healing at all, always need items 6-enemies don't show their loot stage(waste your time killing useless enemies) 7-ship inventory boxes being tinier than your personal chest LMAAAAO 8-Slow Ship, long distance (be ready to spend an eternity between island) and you can't even organize ur chests meanwhile cause might clip out of ship/teleport to void and lose everything u carry) 9-cooking mechanic only for stamina/health?? (message to dev -> BRO you need a brain in ur office, there is resist, speed, gravity, regenerating shield JUST MAKE IT WORTH IT!!) 10-Limitation on ship size, even if you don't exceed the weight, you are limited by number of pieces, so you are stuck with box design cause its most efficient for number of pieces. 11-Personal guns stronger than ship guns (????????? yeah am not joking, personal sniper does 1k damage while ship 200, WOW) 12-useless materials (many useless materials) 13-useless skills levelup system (doesn't explain what level up does, feels like nothing happens) 14-Clouds everywhere that makes you never see islands that you want to visit (you cant see 1 meter ahead of you) 15-super loud noises (engines and scanning data cells, RIP ears) 16-bad looting scheme(you don't know if you are in high level zone or low level zone) 17-There is no map tracking even for islands you explored 18-You can't find end game monsters easily (I spent 3 hours looking for 1 of them) Pros 1- Grapling hook feels right, both gliders need work tho 2-Islands are beautiful 3-puzzles are nice 4-looting is satisfying 5-schematics are abundant and fun to find, not fun to learn 6-weapon variety (even tho needs balancing) 7-I like level up system if it actually did something As for the game situation. This game is better for open world for multiplayer to meet and explore, not limited world with nothing to do after you max out. so fix ur game asap. soooo basicly... buy it if you like doing few puzzles while glitching 24/7 and not being able to do the puzzles, or if you like building a useless super ship that does nothing with useless weapons, which isn't fun :)

Fantastic adventure, similar to Aloft, but with more action! Only glaring drawback....In Aloft, there's a major quality of life feature that allows you to draw items from your chest when crafting at your base. In this game, you must have all the relevant items in your personal inventory to craft anything. VERY annoying. I would ask the devs to have some kind of depot feature when at your skydock making ship upgrades and such. EDIT!!! What started as a grand adventure has resulted in abysmal failure....and, unfortunately, I cannot recommend this game anymore. After playing for almost 30 hrs, the game crashed, and when I logged back in, my skyship was deleted. My character is stuck on an island in the middle of nowhere, with no resources but what they had in their inventory. 30hrs of gameplay and resource gathering is now gone with the wind, and I have no hope of recovery. To top it all off, apparently, this has been a common thing and is still not fixed. I understand that this is an Early Access game, but this issue is a major problem that makes the game unplayable, and one that the devs should have resolved by now. I can ignore the buggyness of items popping out of chests and falling through the texture, or some chests not even opening even though they are lit green. There's going to be some minor glitches with any early access game, but to lose ALL progression because of a game crash issue is insane, and one I cannot simply forgive.

Worlds adrift managed to take the most cherished spot in gaming in my entire 36 years and ever since it was forced to shutdown I have thought on a regular basis how I miss playing. A couple of days ago I happened across Lost Skies and the excitement when I realized that this was a remake/twist was more than I could ever hope to describe. This game, even with its current issues (which 10 hours in doesn't seem to be much), is such a breath of fresh air and has brought me back into gaming after years of never really "feeling" like gaming. I am in love with this new take and could not be more proud to support a dev team that I truly believe in. Thank you for not allowing this concept to remain burried. I cannot wait to get back into the skies and see what else is out there. Much much love.

I can not in good faith recommend this game at the current state, its not early acces, its a tech demo, more then half of the things don't work and things that do dont do it properly. I absolutly adored Worlds adrift wich pushed me to this purchase. Wait and see what they do.

When the game works it captures what I loved about World's Adrift. However, the game is mostly unplayable for me right now due to very frequent crashes, despite trying just about every fix under the sun. Sadly, I cannot in good conscience recommend the game in this state. Should the bugs and crashes get fixed, I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

This game, in concept, is pretty cool. The idea of cruising the open skies on a barely functional scrap boat is something that is, to me, incredibly appealing. This game almost hits that perfectly, unfortunately a couple of design choices and bugs renders this game almost unplayable to the average player. If you actually want to give this game a shot in its current form, never stay on the ship, and give up on making the best looking ship until you complete the tech tree. Occasionally, during flight, the ship will suddenly move in a random direction fast enough to kill everyone on board. Typically, anyone at the helm will be safe. If you aren't at the helm, hook onto the bottom of the ship and dangle at half your hook's range. If you hang at more than half, you will get disconnected when it moves, less than half will swing you around the ship until you hit something. The ship builder is unpleasant to deal with. Sections do not automatically connect unless they are placed all at the same time, so the core of the ship always has to be its own section. Most of the large structural pieces are chiral and larger than a full section of the ship, so everything will be asymmetrical. The game is really only designed for either boats or haulers, so try to make the coolest one you can. To the devs, please set a button to unfurl the sails automatically. It sucks to open a sail at the bottom of a ship. Less importantly, I recommend setting a button, tool, or item that shows wind current direction and strength surrounding the player. Maybe colour the wind particles, or increase their size, or something. The sails are visually the coolest transportation method, but they really aren't optimal or enjoyable to use. 4/10, but with insane potential. Get it on sale, it is not worth 32.50 yet.

It's a bugged mess when playing coop, which is very sad. 1. Inventory breaks when joining a friend, rendering the game completely unplayable together. 2. Performance is so much worse than in their previous game "Worlds Adrift". 3. Keybinds can not be correctly changed, because keys that had 2 functions originally can't be rebinded to more than one function. And then there's the risk of the devs abandoning the game again as they did with "worlds adrift". Don't get me wrong, I really love the concept of the game, but currently it's just not working.

Given this is the first stage of its early access it's amazing how fun this game is. If you loved World's Adrift you'll love this, if that wasn't obvious, but even if you're just finding Lost Skies I think everyone should give it a try. Even if the game was as-is with no extra updates promised I think it's more than worth the price. I really can't recommend it enough and hopefully it'll only get better as development continues. If you need convincing that this isn't like the majority of early access cash grab slop the devs seem to really want to complete the vision they started with World's Adrift. If they were trying to scam you out of your money they wouldn't be trying to make the same concept after the issues World's Adrift had. Add onto that it's only $25, cheaper if you owned World's Adrift, and World's Adrift players get special unique items in the game it's really hard to argue that the devs aren't passionate and want to give players a good experience.

Not much to do in this game tbh. flying between islands is fun first 5 times but after that it gets a little boring, theres too much grind that clearly trying replace lack of content, designing new ship is cool but after that you just run around islands thats looks like a clump of assets from asset store On every island you gone do same stuff over and over again trying to find new stuff/tech for your ship and after about 10 islands it gets really old Survival aspect is marginal, no real challenges, no real enemies, couple of bugs (didnt have any gamebreaking ones) Lost Skies is similar to Worlds Adrift that i bought years ago but it lacks the main fun thing, other players that you can shoot and ship to ship battles (i know there is CO-OP but it's just not the same) If they would add npc pirate ships and npcs on islands (that arent just mindles flying drones/auto-turrets) gmae would be much better Imagine fighting and boarding other ships, trading with flying merchants on flying sky-docks and having a stable base where you can keep your ships and loot on Swinging on grapling hook is cool tho and they also give me a free mask and useless flag because i was playing worlds adrift something like 8 years ago This game is worth max 10 bucks for what it gives Overall 6/10

Yes, but... Builders? The ship building is kinda a creators dream and with how the game feels right now its basically in creative mode, its not hard to explore and upgrade. Survival? If you're a survival player, don't expect much of that. At best, you'll feel a little bit like Indiana Jones with a airship. Without more "exciting" things happening it may not hold your attention. Explorer? Wonderful landscapes, lots of spots to poke around in. But, it will at times feel like its missing something as there isn't much to interact with. Puzzles? They're neat, it gets progressively get harder as you go. The game is a long slow start to get a ship and then some before you land on an island that shoots back. Casual puzzle and exploration players will enjoy it more.

In general, it's very fun to swing around and explore floating islands. The fact that many islands are made by the community is also very cool. BUT (and this is a big but), there are MANY bugs. P.S. I want a multiplayer server.

Oh. My. Goodness..... I am over the moon about this game. I've longed for the days when I was on Worlds Adrift. I glance at the bottom of my Game Library and see it there, with flashes of memories swinging around and gathering resources for my piddly little rust bucket. Meeting new people, unsure if they would kill me or not, but to my surprise they help me and we join forces together. These memories, I have of a lost game hit very very hard. Of the first game with my potato computer, that taught me that I loved crafting open world games. This game, is almost an exact replica... Minus the PVP aspect. The grapple gun and swinging is EXACTLY how i remember. The resource gathering and everything. When I first started this game up, it gave me shivers on how that same feeling hit me. Later, I finally built the ship, after I finally got used to the movement again, explored the whole first island. Go into the ship and then the song hit when I was in the sky... I almost broke down yo. Bossa, thank you. Thank you for revamping this game again. I know I speak for the community in saying, we MISSED this. Please keep being awesome, and keep this game alive and we will do our best together to get it back to its former glory!

Lost Skies is clearly the result of lessons learned by Bossa from the demise of Worlds Adrift. To those who played the ill-fated game; this is exactly what we've been waiting for. For the others, this game is definitely worth a try. There is a lot to love here but also a few downsides, to be expected really from an early access title. I'll start with the good! - Shipbuilding is great and reasonably intuitive - The traversal systems are unique and exciting to use - The world is remarkably immersive given how desolate it is - The combat is a massive improvement over the older game And a few cons. I'm trying to only mention things that aren't caused by this being early access. Things to improve, not just listing bugs. - Progression is confusing for new players - Flying between islands can be a little tedious before getting engines - Night is really dark, functional beds would be really nice Overall I highly recommend, I expect it will only get better with time!

This game is definitely in early access, but the potential it has as well as the content already available is exactly what I was hoping for. After watching Worlds Adrift die and having no hope for anything similar in the future, this game made me believe that small teams that care about their games still exist and I’m excited to see where this game goes. It does have some bugs, and some of them are incredibly annoying when playing multiplayer. Things like randomly dying when islands load in or spawning into the ship but actually loading in 50ft below the ship and falling to your death are annoying, but can be overcome with the expectation that they’ll get fixed. You can post in the discord about it and they take you seriously. It’s great. Overall, at the moment, I’d rate it a solid 7.5/10 with the potential to be 1000/10. Worth every bug, especially if you played Worlds Adrift.

Ahoy! To my World's Adrift pioneers! Lost Skies brings me back to a time where exploration was my relaxation and I'm certain you feel the same. I do not need to convince you that this game is worth buying. Bugs aside, it will bring you great joy. To everyone else - Welcome and be ready to find yourself lost in the exploration. Think hard to solve carefully crafted puzzles, and enjoy the beauty & lore this world will deliver. PROS o The solitude you will find in island exploration will be unparalleled to any other game you have played before. o As the sun rises and sets into the void of mist, you will experience a new feeling that can not be described. o Travel from island to island is a journey into serenity. o The steam punk / fantasy aspects of this game blend together so smoothly, it has the feeling of accidental genius. o The improvements to Worlds Adrift make stability and server side cost effectiveness sustainable. You can trust that this game will be around for a long time to come. o Customization of your ship and world is only limited to in game progress and your imagination. I hope both will flourish. CONS o Those who have had a taste of what true exploration was will love this game, but want more... o MMORPG would make this game a Rembrandt. As it stands, host worlds leave a slight sour taste. o Ship design is "Too Stable". Please let me slap sheet metal randomly and make a monstrous flying beast of tetanus and splinters. WARNING - Game is currently unstable and you WILL experience loss of your ship for unknown and random reasons. Trust the developers and trust me, this game will improve and we should support it in anyway we can. Smooth Sailing Captains.

Overall, it's a pretty good game for how early on it is. There are some bad bugs, but I imagine those will get patched out. In Multiplayer (I've been playing with 3 other friends, so a 4 person game) the gameplay is pretty phenomenal. You split off at an island, search for data disks, ping them so everyone else can find them, and gather resources along the way, and you can split your data disks into different techs so you can get pretty much everything at a given tech level pretty quickly. Then, you move on to a different island - in flight, you have one person piloting, another sorting out all the resources you've acquired, and the other two can keep a look out, make plans, or man the cannons - plus it's a nice break to have some fun talks with your friends. Then, you reach a new island and do it all over again. At certain milestones, you'll decide you want to build a new ship. We've been leaving our old ships behind and starting from scratch, though I imagine many a resource have been lost this way. The ship building is very fun, if a little buggy sometimes (i am unable to use the ship building on another player's world - like, I can enter, but none of the controls work right.) In singleplayer, however, the game is pretty lacking. Exploring islands is a slog, and gathering resources even moreso. The benefit to singleplayer is that you don't have to bother worrying about who researches what schematic - as you're the only one who can use them, so you don't need to check if you already have it. I think there should be a "learn all schematics" button, and probably a "learn all new schematics" button as well for multiplayer games where you might want to save schematics that you learned but your friends haven't. Single player has still been fun for me overall, and I don't recommend changing the game to make singleplayer better at the expense of multiplayer because playing this game with friends is the best way to play it. Maybe give players a buff if they're the only player in a given world that gives them a bit more stamina, extra resources, etc. Oh, and probably items that increase your backpack/belt size? Those might already be a thing, I've not gotten all the way through to everything in the game yet. As for the bugs, the game is pretty broken. But it's in early access, and it's far from unplayable. I think right now the main focus should be and is on fixing these bugs, and once that's done more content can be easily added via the island creator. I've heard from one of my friends who's played longer into solo mode that there will be a ship battle, and I'm excited to see that. With all the weapons you can put on a ship, ship combat is something this game doesn't have enough of yet. Other Recommendations for after the bugs are worked on: - an in-game map would be great - i'd recommend having it just for the areas you've been to. Make it easy to track where you've been and in what directions and areas you can still explore. - Ways to increase your backpack/belt space, as, especially in single player, those can fill up fast. - Other craftable clothes; the basic armor you can craft looks terrible, and the only way to get the other outfits are just finding them. TL;DR: it's a great game to play with friends. sure it's very buggy, but it's in early access. once the bugs are ironed out I'd love to see more content, but fixing the bugs should definitely be the main priority for the team right now.

Nah. I've played my fair share of survivalcrafters. A few with air ships in them too. And in this one everything just feels like a grinding chore in regards to progression. The grappling hook mechanics are fine, enjoyable even, but the game needs more than one gimmick to be enjoyable. Progression is based on finding macguffins to unlock technology with. Need a lot of them. Which means exploring, doing puzzles, and moving on to other islands to find more of them. And it is a pretty dull cycle. And the things you want to unlock doesn't properly describe what they do. I was confused as to why I was able to unlock the same skydock over and over again, so I ignored it for some time. When I finally unlocked it for the second time, I was still not seeing any indication of what it had done for me. Not until I went to edit my ship and see I now had +2 size segments I could add to my ship! Would've been really nice to know beforehand. No mapping to speak of, so you better have an excellent sense of navigation and keen memory just to remember where you have been and what way to head next. Terrible gameplay for those, such as myself, that do not have such skills. Dying from floorspikes and pressing 'Respawn at ship', only to respawn on the spot where i died and thus immediately die again, is simply irredeemable until properly fixed. I also encountered a place that is apparently known as 'The Spine', a pretty cool island in and of itself, until I encountered its apparently quite infamous jumping puzzle. In a place where the grappling hook is severely restricted, and where the player is meant to get through by just jumping. And this is where the game shows how extremely weak its jumping/parkouring is when the grappling hook is not available. Especially one part so very close to the end where I had to manage to jump, get my glider out for a miniscule height boost, in order to get to another ledge... Only for the glider to fail to be pulled out 90% of the time, because the timing needs to be absolutely perfect apparently? I wish I could refund it. But as is the case with many games like these, a 2 hour window to decide whether it is good or not is simply far too little. Maybe one day this one will get better, and I can go back to it and enjoy it, but until such a day I shall simply seek greener pastures in the world of survivalcrafts.

I'm very critical of games since I've worked in the game industry myself, and this game is early access and there are certain issues with it, but this is THE open world game, it has crafting, exploring, puzzles, your own custom airship, and you can even make islands in the island creator and have a chance of seeing your island in the game. Since it's early access, the physics are a bit off sometimes, and the islands haven't all been playtested properly before making it into the game - the difficulty scaling also appears to be a problem (the armor you can find doesn't actually stop you from having a high level manta oneshot you, you'll need to eat all the HP boosting food you can to fight them) There's also this bug we found where any joining players' guns will instantly use up all ammo in some kind of endless shooting animation glitch, which stops me from playing with friends, but that's fine, the game is fun without friends too! The tutorial is very reasonable, the starter island basically teaches you everything (unless you snooze like me and forgot to bring an atlas lifter, only to spend half an hour jumping around the rock I was supposed to move) all in all, it's not finished, and there are things we had in Worlds Adrift that work differently in Lost Skies (I was a fan of the procedurally generated blueprints, now it's 3 engines, good luck savescumming to hit those drop chances) but there's a lot more story and interesting gameplay. this is one of VERY FEW games I actually recommend, I can feel Bossa Studios put the effort in to make this a really good, fun game. I look forward to the time when we get to breach the wind-wall and explore the other regions of Foundation!

Lost Skies is fun and all but it lacks an objective really. Like Worlds Adrift had the wind barriers to test if your ship is good enough for the next areas and the pvp was intense, fun and honestly really good for the kind of game it was. I understand that the devs want to make a survival/exploration game but cmon man, add some kind of pvp or fun progression objectives not this baby game made for baby gamers. Maybe add pvp servers with wipes and stuff idk. I miss worlds Adrift.... I still like the game and i know its Early Access.

The highlight of the gameplay is the forced killing of harmless creatures or progress in the game is impossible. Well, Worlds Adrift was my favorite game. But, subjectively, what I see now, I can’t say positively: The main reason why I can’t continue the game is the forced killing of harmless creatures, otherwise the main gameplay line will be blocked. Why couldn’t the game designer, having a great LORE, an abundance of evil robots and artifacts, come up with anything better than killing living creatures that don’t even try to harm the player? And the second minor aspect for me is the worsened mechanics of ship design. If earlier it was possible to be creative by creating almost any shape and method of applying armor, now you can only make a coffin of different sizes and glue modules to it. But otherwise the game is quite interesting and colorful with many cool mechanics

So my verdict on this is 50/50 good/bad. It's an awesome game with many interesting ideas and the airships are awesome I also like the idea of having to locate bps to unlock stuff, kinda adds into the "ancient civilization" feeling. The core mechanics are there, the environment is there and the building is there. (also grappling in here is awesome) But the negatives...is mostly just feels a little empty. Especially when flying to your next island, the lack of stuff going on just feels weird and empty. Not to mention there are a fair amount of bugs (i try to ignore them because it's early access) but they are there. Now I never ran into any game-breakers but I know they exist because the community has complained about the same group of bugs, there's at least 5 that i've seen that are def game-breaking from the community. Tons of smaller ones but be honest, those aren't really important considering the early state of the game. Like i said I wish there was a half option for steam reviews or something. Now on a positive note the devs so far have been updating/patching at least once a month which is good pace (rust back in 2014 was operating the same exact way and still do even right now). So I'm cool w that makes sense. But if you buy this just beware that it's def not done and it does feel like "early access" so you're def getting what you're buying. But if you like puzzles, flying, building, and just exploring then right now you'd probably love it even though it's unfinished because that's most of the content. (to be clear I do actually like this game). But yeah overall just kinda be aware that there are issues, large ones. And the amount of content you'll currently get out of this at the most might be 50ish hours or so, less for people who go fast lmao.

i WANTED TO LOVE THIS GAME AND IT LOOKED SO GOOD BUT......... its just so dam fking frustrating!!!!!!. their is NO map so when you finally figure out how to build your ship which is not fun or the way you expect to build you fly off into oblivion not seeing anything for what feels like eternity on and on and on neither knowing if your up or down. landing is frustrating the ship is hard to navigate. if you fall off your stuffed if you land in the wrong place you get shot you cant craft bullets on your ship. if you loose all your stuff your fked. there are very few enemies but all you can do is shoot them and dont bother upgrading your gun. upgrade is crap does 2 points more damage crap!!!! don't lose your gun because its your only weapon yeap with a crap upgrade. Its not a base building game so don't buy if your expecting base building . I wanted a refund. I hope the dev's improve the game. because its currently Not fun. some great ideas to improve it would be being able to build teleporter's and teleport to your ship be able to build a better flying object like an actual house. I just wish I refunded 2 hrs in but I wanted it to be better and it took me that to find my first island. I'm sorry I just cant recommend unless you love GAME RAGE!!!.......But I couldnt get a refund so I had to push on and eventually I had to build a dock for my ship built a research table and finally was able to put a craftstation on deck and convinced my husband to play. worth it.. perseverance is key if your not crazy dont buy it. however its a challenging strat
