Small indie studio cant fix "joining server" issue. I managed to play only 1 match on lowest difficulty after that I was unable to join any game. DO NOT BUY IT until it is fixed. With this bug you only can play offline with bots

They require you to purchase the "aftermath" version of the game in order to switch to the "First person perspective". This option is Greyed Out unless you pay them more money. Fuck that.

Quite new but the game is great. I wish more DLC are available with long maps and story.

Definitely a worth purchase. The game play is fun and engaging, the maps are well designed too. Most importantly the optimizations in this game must be studied, I'm blown away by how the FPS doesn't drop even with hundreds if not thousands of zombies on the screen at the same time. Play with friends, its more fun that way.

it is a fun game but games like l4d2 are just better in replay ability wwz is like l4d style and has more bigger hordes but has many short comings first is its weapons its got a lot of options but they spawn randomly some of which hardly spawn and others all the time so its selection is very limited and rng and its customization is purely cosmetic and does not effect the guns level or stats which you need to also level up by using to gain new perks for that gun the equipment is also limited by class one will have fire bottles the other c4 charges and so on its classes does offer some role play options but if you play solo its losses its potential since its team and horde based classes and very rarely on solo focused as for the gameplay its alright but frustrating since if you fail or quit you will have to start from the beginning its missions are short and simple but lacks interactive environments and feels rather dead with hardly any zombies in the area its a more horde defense game than anything else which is good but lacks as well the characters though interesting in design are often forgettable despite the games flaws its still fun especially with friends but gets boring rather quick if the guns had more customization and player choice as well as what weapons they wanna use as well as making classes also more dynamic maybe adding a custom class option where players can make their own by selecting skills form the previous classes and use them together all in all still fun on a scale of 1 to 10 id give it a 6 and will still play it but only every now and again

Encountered a game breaking bug in the first 20 minutes. The game stops detecting that you and your squad have made progress to the checkpoint so the next part of the level never triggers. Didn't even make it an entire hour. Refunding.

Yeah, I did enjoy my time with the game, but that enjoyment was constantly sabotaged by the brain-dead AI teammates. Picture this: you're holding a gate solo, shotgun in hand, feeling like a badass exterminator, that is until all three bots suddenly decide, “Yo, we want in on that!” and march directly in front of you. Now your DPS goes from amazing to oh-my-god-we’re-dead as your shots harmlessly thud into their backs like some undead version of the Three Stooges. I won't hesitate to toss a Molotov right on top of the AI bots when the Zekes rush in. Honestly, the AI is that bad. Basically if you like zombie games this is worth a go, but you will face frustration while playing solo.

the game is pretty good, huge weapons selections and the class system is pretty solid. The game is very difficult played solo, so you'll definitely need to play with other experienced players, it is extremely buggy at times, but if you're looking for a zombie shooter that deals with a massive hordes of infected then this is your game.

The game will fill the Left 4 Dead void left by Valve. It's fun in short bursts, and the PVP is pretty entertaining if you can ever find a match. 8/10 from me.

Probably one of the best horde shooters ever made. My playtime may seem low, but I played the crap outta WWZ on my ps4 back on release. The gameplay is addicting, the gore is chunky and visceral, the graphics are gorgeous, and the amount of content is refreshing (if you get AFTERMATH). I wouldn't recommend playing in first person, but the third person default has obviously been mastered by the devs and responds amazingly well. There is weight behind each gun, and they are all satisfying to shoot. I wish more games felt as responsive and swift. I am also impressed by the sheer number of zombies that can be on screen on once - easily hundreds if not thousands, especially on XL horde mode. I'm trying to find negatives, but can't see anything that sticks out. Some may be turned off that their are no checkpoints, and if you die the entire mission restarts, but I find that one of the more appealing aspects - it makes your tactics feel more relevant, and highlights the need for perfect strategy to complete a mission. Another turn off for some may be that there exists a couple of locked missions that are behind a paywall, but for what its worth, they're only 10 bucks and offer a good amount of content. Lastly, the soundtrack is pretty mid, but who cares when the sound design is otherwise flawless. Hats off to Saber Interactive. WWZ has brought hours of fun horde massacring for me and my wife with many more to come, so thank you. I rate multiplayer games a tad different from singeplayers; a 10 for a multiplayer being different from a 10 for a singleplayer (I rate singleplayer games more so off emotional impact, story, soundtrack, etc.... whereas multiplayer is mainly gameplay and the overall "fun" scale). As it stands, I'd give WWZ a 10/10 as a multiplayer title- it has perfected the horde shooter mechanic and seldom any other game can compare. Obviously don't buy the game looking for a deep story, but if you're in the market for a gore-soaked, gun blazing apocalyptic shooter for you and the homies (or in my case, my wife), then it's absolutely worth the $40.

Pretty fun zombie game to play with friends, though I didn't really want to get all the DLC's due to the price and what you get from it. I got the aftermath edition on sale for ~13$ which is pretty good value for what you get. But the other two DLC's are newer, so both would set you back more than those 13$ just for 6 missions, or like 1-2 hours of gameplay. Having just played back 4 blood and gotten 100% achievements, I decided to do it here as well. Though I think of the two, I preferred that game overall. The huge hordes of zombies is definitely different over back 4 blood, pretty cool and very impressive how many AI are active at once with the game running well (especially considering it came out mid 2019), but again overall I just preferred the other game. A lot of the gameplay gravitates around looting for weapons to level, both for achievements and just to improve them for progression / making the game easier. And you can't get more than 1 level per mission, as you max out the XP on a weapon, then you have to buy the next level with money. (of which you make waaay too little of). And then if you want to prestige your class, it costs you 7500 money, and you lose all the money you spent on the perks (this should be refunded) When you complete a mission at difficulty 2/5 (super simple and almost impossible to lose), you only make 300 money at the end. Those missions can be 7-20 minutes long, depending on how fast you are, what mission it is, etc. This means that if you actually want to level all your guns, classes and prestige, etc.. you'd have to be grinding for hundreds and hundreds of hours. Even with the exploit me and my friends honestly spent most of our time on (missile command mission, getting to the elevator and resetting, giving 640 money. I'm really glad dialogue volume is a thing in this game though) So this means that I ended up cheating some of the achievements due to the ridiculous amount of boring grinding. ESPECIALLY the multiplayer achievements. never. do. multiplayer. achievements. Even in games where people actually get it for the multiplayer, servers will die out at some point, and make them impossible to get. Though unlike the "complete all missions at hardest/second hardest difficulty" achievement in back 4 blood, difficulty 4/5 on the base game maps were actually pretty simple with a prepped crew of 3 people.

Underrated game to kill some time. Kinda grindy but tons of fun. Reminds me of the good old Payday 2, but with zombies instead of cops. Just be careful, sometimes the real zombies are your teammates.

I would consider this an updated and upgraded Left for Dead-like game. Newer weapons, updated graphics, a few new mechanics and a progression system to upgrade weapons and loadouts. I've played on PC, steamdeck, and PS4 and had no issues with graphics or game-breaking bugs. In general, it runs fairly well (at least in my experience). Without spoiling anything, the story is loosely based upon the novel and movie of the same name with some familiar areas. Very fun way to pass time, and there is offline playability for when you are away from wifi/internet access.

As a gamer with deep love in Zombie sub genre in horror and love to play cooperative game, World War Z are the answer to a question when there is a successor for Left 4 Dead? Indeed Back 4 Blood is developed by Turtle Rock, who creating Left 4 Dead 1 with guidance from Valve. But B4B is too early to throw its towel into the ring. While World War Z taking its time to establish its fans and gradually adding more content. Also it have a nice progression system despite i found B4B's card system is more flexible. Still WWZ give us the zombie coop shooter with a moment so far not rivalled by another zombie themed game. Its massive swarm of zombies still a spectacle to be experienced.

its "ok" not worth more than $20 AUD for base and aftermath and at that price (which i purchased it for) i recommend it feels a bit janky in the controls they need a jump mechanic (NFI why there isn't one...) they need to get rid of the fkn stamina mechanic (its pointless and feels like ass trying to run then walk, then run, then walk...) other than that its just a worse LFD clone with more content

World War Z, developed by Saber Interactive, offers an adrenaline-fueled cooperative shooter experience that captures the chaotic intensity of battling relentless hordes of zombies. Inspired by the popular book and film, the game puts players in the shoes of four survivors who must work together to survive in various global hotspots overwhelmed by the undead. Its core appeal lies in the sheer scale and swarming nature of the enemies, creating tense and dynamic encounters that test teamwork, strategy, and reflexes. The gameplay combines fast-paced, third-person shooting with class-based mechanics, allowing players to choose roles like the Gunslinger, Medic, or Slasher, each bringing unique skills and weapons to the table. The cooperative focus is essential—solo play is possible but significantly less effective against the overwhelming numbers of zombies that can quickly turn the tide. Levels are designed to encourage tactical positioning, resource management, and coordinated defense, as waves of infected relentlessly attack in visually impressive, sprawling hordes that move and climb realistically, often overwhelming unprepared squads. One of the game’s standout features is its impressive enemy AI and swarm behavior. Unlike typical zombie shooters, World War Z emphasizes mass over individual threat, making each encounter feel like a frantic, large-scale battle rather than isolated firefights. This leads to memorable moments where players must fend off thousands of attackers, using environmental traps, barricades, and clever team synergy to survive. The variety of zombie types—from fast runners to heavily armored brutes—adds strategic layers to combat, requiring constant adaptation. Visually, the game effectively balances gritty realism with cinematic flair. Environments range from devastated cityscapes to eerie subway tunnels, each with atmospheric lighting and detailed design that heighten immersion. The sound design is equally strong, with tense audio cues and visceral weapon effects that enhance the sense of urgency. While the graphics are not groundbreaking, they serve the gameplay well and run smoothly on a variety of hardware. Multiplayer modes, including PvE co-op campaigns and competitive Horde modes, add significant replayability, encouraging teamwork and community engagement. Progression through skill trees and equipment upgrades provides a satisfying sense of growth and customization, though some players may find the loot grind repetitive over time. In conclusion, World War Z stands out as a thrilling co-op shooter that excels in delivering large-scale zombie battles packed with tension and excitement. It’s best enjoyed with friends or other players online, where teamwork and strategy come to the forefront. While it may not reinvent the genre, its polished gameplay, impressive swarm mechanics, and relentless pace make it a highly entertaining and memorable experience for fans of cooperative action and zombie survival. Rating: 8/10

This is a great all-out-killing spree for zombies. Really captures the 28 days later kind of zombie hordes and speed. Tons of different weapons and several classes to play with across a few distinct stories. Quite enjoyable the first couple of times through, can get to be boring after you've played the same maps over and over.

Kinda like the L4D games but with some rpg-mechanics like leveling up weapons and whatnot. It’s been a minute so I’m a bit fuzzy on some details- but when I found this game again in my library it reminded me how awesome it was. I played solo but would probably be amazing in co-op.

Good game. Lots of different modes and ways to defeat hordes of Zombies. There need to be a better way of communicating in the game, especially with cross play (Xbox and PS players). As of right now there is voice comms but they are delayed and echo-ish at times. Console players cant see typed text from PC players, at least i havent gotten a positive response from others playing, that they can see text communications, and the push-to-talk feature doesnt work on any platform, u have to keep the setting to "open mic". Other than that main issue the game is awesome.

I love me a good zombie shooter; level up, get perks, power up weapons, huge selection, shoot more zombies. I think WWZ has got the formula down pretty damn well. I can replay maps over and over but still feels fresh. Can totally play for free, or pay for some cosmetics; no paywalls, you can set the challenge level to your own liking and match with other players to help you out.
