⚠️ If you have an NVIDIA graphics card, you'll probably want to read this.
With over 100 hours of gameplay, I can say that Forza Horizon 5 is, without doubt, one of the most complete and fun racing games I've ever played. One of the aspects that pleases me most is the amount of available content: there's always something to do — races, challenges, seasonal events, or even just going out driving around the map, relaxing and enjoying the scenery.
Speaking of which, the visuals are a show in themselves: the map, inspired by Mexico, is extremely rich in details and has an atmosphere that makes you want to explore. The graphics are gorgeous, with varied scenery and lighting that enhances each landscape.
The gameplay maintains that arcade feel that the series does so well — easy to pick up, but with enough depth for those who like to adjust every detail. The driving sensation is fluid and responsive, making the game accessible for beginners while still being rewarding for more experienced players.
But unfortunately, not everything is perfect. If you, like me, use an NVIDIA graphics card, it's good to know that the game still suffers from random and unpredictable crashes. I've already lost several online races and even stopped playing for some days out of pure frustration, and even trying dozens of solutions found on the internet, nothing worked. It's frustrating to see this type of problem persist in a title released in 2021.
In the end, I partially recommend Forza Horizon 5 — especially if it's on sale. It's a great game, with many qualities, but one that still suffers from technical problems that shouldn't exist anymore.

The most exciting game in recent times. Only here you can drive your favorite car with a random person at 3 a.m. And yes, the garage is also impressive, with over 800 cars, many of which are modern, which is great. So it's perfect for an evening after a long day with some favourite music. +vibe
P.s the storyline is very annoying and makes no sense, and there are to many quests.

Forza Horizon 5 was on my wishlist forever, I was not able to buy as it was too expensive and I wanted the Premium edition to get as many cars and expansions in a bundle as possible, buying them afterwards individually is too expensive.
I got this game at 65% off at 1925rs or about 25$ for Premium edition, regional pricing helped. I already knew what I was buying and it did not dissapoint. I am absolutely loving it. Some people complaint about the map feeling empty, I however do not completely agree, we already have dozens of good city driving games, like Forza Horizon 4, Forza Horizon 5 on the other hand is more focussed on nature, the deserts, forests etc and I love it. It can be a matter of personal preference, I love both the games. Buy the Premium edition !!! The rally adventure is super fun and you get lots of extra cars too, plus a crown near your in-game name, I didn't think I would like it, but I did.
Looking forward to sinking hundreds of hours into Forza Horizon 5, I will get THE CREW MOTORFEST down the line when it hits a huge sale.

Forza Horizon 5 is a great racing game
+Graphics(The graphics look so good that sometimes you don't know if it's a game or real.)
+Gameplay(The gameplay mechanics are the same as the rest of the series with some improvements.)
+Open World(The map is very large and there are many activities to do and races plus exploration.)
+Good Music and Sound
Forza Horizon 5 is a good racing game from all points and is as good as Forza Horizon 4 and everything looks very good especially the cars are very well detailed and let's not forget the map is also very detailed
10/10 Must Play! I recommend buying it at a discount.

Forced Microsoft account requirement.
Unskippable cutscenes.
Unskippable DLC/currency adverts.
Unskippable cringe story.
Unskippable menu dialogue that stops any and all input.
Same garbage UI as FH4.
I enjoyed FH4 because of it's setting but this is just more of the same crap with the same downsides.
Not for me, I just want to jump in and play a fun game.

If you enjoy the grind to get that car collection you've always wanted - not the game for you.
I played for about 2 hours and had all the top cars given to me in "Gifts"
Not sure i completely understand this game.

Like many, I wish there was a "mixed" option.
On one hand this game bangs. It's one of the best feeling and most fun racing games in recent years. It has a great flow, A good map (Although I still love FH3's map more), a bunch of content to keep you busy, and a pretty good weekly challenge system that gives you some cool cars.
On the other it's completely idiotic that you pay 100 Euros/USD and you don't get all the content as you will be missing out on 12 Car packs. That's about 52 vehicles, and will cost you another 50 Euros/USD extra. I paid for the premium edition so I could get everything, but instead they retroactively release a bunch of car packs that I have to pay even more for. It actively killed all the excitement and love I had for this game before that point. Do better, Playground games.
Ultimately, That's why I'm giving it a negative review as I stopped playing for over a year due to this BS, and the only thing that got me back into it was one of my friends reinstalling it.
TL;DR: It's good but, They added a bunch of DLC that isn't included in the premium edition 2 years after the game came out.

worst fucking game in the series. 99% of the roster of cars is recycled, the dlcs are recycled, it's boring, the progression fucking sucks (you get a Jeep, a Supra MK5, and a Corvette at the START of the game), the races are so bland and offer no real variety to the point where i just gave up and did whatever. there's none of the fun you had of seeing available races and their classes and buying a car that could fit said races you wanted to do and tuning it to the PI, you get money thrown at you all the time, so there's no incentive to do some boring, unoriginal races. the story is even worse, there barely is one. in fh1, you were introduced by losing against Darius, which gave you a reason to want to win these races and get faster. none of that is present in this game, all the characters are so mind numbingly generic i don't even remember their names. and don't get me started on the fact that this game is supposed to be situated in Mexico, and yet there's a total of like, 3 iconic cars from that culture.

the game is amazing, probably one of the best car games ever made. However, since i bought my g29 it keeps crashing with no errors after 3 minutes of gameplay. I tired all the possible fixes and nothing works, any other game I have plays great...assetto corsa, F1 2025 etc.

I played this on Xbox Game pass and believed I could transfer my save file from there considering you log in to the same Xbox account. Unfortunately, there's no cross-save support, and I don't want to replay everything from scratch. There's a couple of Reddit threads for transferring your save if you played on the same PC, but there's the risk of being flagged as cheating/modding. That, and I believe the lack of game transfer possibility is intentional by the developers and/or Microsoft. The lack of ability to transfer the saves is not stated anywhere on the store page.

Bought the game at launch, found it to feel pretty empty compared to other games in the series, tried to reinstall it to see how its come over the years, and the game just keeps having login issues, really disappointing to see how bad this series has gotten, H3 was one of my favorite games, and its been a heavy fall off since then, probably recommend giving a different game a try before this one.

Currently playing it for the second time to completion, as I first bought it when it released on the Microsoft Store.
I would never spend €150 on a game I don't enjoy. (50€ now, 100€ originally)
This game is so damn satisfying to play. (btw I switched to Linux and UWP Apps don't work, thus me buying it again)
Incredibly addicting. Don't buy if you want to be productive.

I bought the Premium Edition thinking it was the same as Forza Horizon 4 Ultimate Edition where you got all DLCs including those released later. This is not the case with Forza Horizon 5.
When it comes to the game itself it is a decent game. The map looks good, but feels empty and bland. The graphics are decent and there are many cars, but a lot of the cooler cars are locked behind DLCs you have to buy. Most of these are not included with Premium Edition.
The physics are very arcadey. It has force feedback, but that is almost as far as the realism goes.
All in all it is a decent game, but it has lost the spark Forza Horizon 4 has. The way they changed how the highest tier version does not have all DLCs feels like the publisher has become greedy and care more about money than making a good game people can enjoy. If you have Forza Horizon 4 this will not feel like an upgrade. Sure, the graphics look a little better and there are some new mechanics like folding the roof on convertibles, but that is about it. As Forza Horizon 4 is now delisted I would recommend looking for other racing games like BeamNG or Assetto Corsa.

i personally think that the Horizon 4 is far more better than Horizon 5, indeed the H5 has a bigger map to explore and more gameplay is available but H4 felt more lively like there's more cars passing by, ease of playing multiplayer like co-op racing againts drivatars, and you couldn't forget how the flocks and chickens running around when you go near them. The good side of H5 is big map, excellent weather experience, lots of vegetation which the H4 isn't, and more cars. The down side is the game isn't felt as lively as H4, difficulties to invite random player to an race event, the environment felt so silent like a dead island, and the most annoying thing that i encounter when i'm playing it for the first time is the PRONOUNS thing like "what the hell is this ?", but other than that this game is quite a choice if you want to taste a Horizon franchise but this isn't worth it if you already tasted the Horizon 4 .
UPDATE!
sorry for saying that forza horizon 5 has a difficulties to invite player to a race, what i mean is unable to invite other players to a random race like when you're roaming around map and find a race event that you want to play co-op with random player, that's the problem

Is the game fun? Yes.
Is it rewarding? Well...
Forza Horizon 5 is fun at first glance the driving feels good, the car list is massive, and visually it's stunning. But it quickly becomes clear that the game lacks any meaningful progression. Within the first hour, you're given dozens of cars, including supercars, with no reason to even use most of them. The constant flow of free vehicles kills any sense of reward or accomplishment.
The "festival" theme feels hollow. There's no sense of rising through ranks, no rivals, no endgame – you arrive as the best and stay there. Maybe I’m biased because I just replayed Need for Speed: ProStreet, which I consider to have one of the best progression systems and festival atmospheres ever made. In comparison, the "festival" in Horizon 5 feels pointless.
Now let’s talk about the map. What is this? Horizon 3 (Australia) and Horizon 4 (UK) had fantastic, memorable worlds. I loved how seasons in FH4 changed the vibe and even your driving strategy. Here, you're just driving across a giant flat plate. Nothing feels iconic or immersive. The city is painfully bland. After playing FH3 and FH4, I actually wanted to visit Australia and Scotland. After FH5? Mexico feels like a post-apocalyptic wasteland from Fallout.
And while we’re at it, why is the festival in Mexico? The game tries way too hard to inject Mexican culture with awkward Spanglish dialogue and forced enthusiasm. I thought the cutscenes in NFS Unbound were cringe, turns out, FH5 takes that crown with ease. And honestly, Mexico doesn’t even have a well-known car culture. Can we please go back to America, Europe, or Japan?
As a sandbox? It’s decent. As a racing game? It fails to deliver any real structure, challenge, or progression. It’s all sugar, no substance.

Never was dying to play this. Was waiting for this to be on sale, good thing I did.
Cons:
- Saints Row(2023)/Concord level of voiceovers and character types, insufferable, unskippable slop cutscenes with forced spanish so you don't forget they know 2 languages.
- Trash Radio, every song is either censored or an unbearable corporate cringe garbage.
-Immediate 0 volume on both is a MUST.
- Goofy, children-like exploration objectives, being reminded that you are such a good boy and you are doing so well for literally just driving through a aztec ruin ,or something random.
- Cars missing details from their irl counterparts, like sidemarkets, some details are slightly out of position etc.
- LONG launch process, takes 5 min just to get into the game ,when accounting for all loading times, 15 min if game decides to Optimize your PC.
- Forced DLC advertisments/ 3 out of 4 options when choosing race locked behind dlc.
Pros:
- Decent number of cars to choose
- Graphics are pretty good for racing
- Good amount content (I just started) without having to buy dlc
- Ability to chose manual
- Some semblance of basic tuning adjustment (but the game is Arcade not Sim ,so take with grain of salt)
- Cars sound good even though not accurate for many models (problem since Forza 1, never fixed)
This isn’t “open world Asseto Corsa” or Gran Tourismo thats 100% clear after 15 min of playing.
I recomment buying ONLY on heavy sale, and prepare to MUTE everything and anything that isnt a car to have MUCH better experience.

tl;dr: It's fun, lots of things to do, cringey cutscenes though. Buy it.
- Lots of activities;
- Weekly challenges and prizes (I like it, even though some people hate it for the FOMO);
- you can make the events really casual or challenging;
- both expansions are great;
- PvP events are pretty fun as well;
- you can spend a lot of time tuning your cars, if you love doing so as much as I do (or just download tunes created by other players);
And yeah, the dialogues are kinda cringey and cutscenes can get annoying, but as an arcade racing game I really recommend it.

-You gotta have a Microsoft account
-The UI is garbage and you have to look up guides every 5 minutes to understand in what menu you have to go
-Stupidly long unskippable cutscenes that are basically ads for the latest DLC or whatever
-Cringy story with annoying characters that keep talking in your ear (I don't care)
-The cars are cool I guess, there's a nice selection and good amounts of customization.
Basically the game is extremely unintuitive and annoying to new players, and I don't want to keep bothering with it, everytime I get coerced into reinstalling it I regret it and uninstall it the following day.
"Would you recommend this game to other players?"
Steam asks. My answer: Yes, but with caveats.
I bought the game at launch on Xbox One X and sank about 300 hours into it. The issues it had back then are still present today.
1) No challenge
Forza Horizon has always been too easy. The AI is predictable, making races trivial even on the highest difficulty setting. Challenges reward the wrong things—why is finishing a new race worth more than winning one? Smells like a participation trophy.
2) The menu
I've hated the menu system since Forza Horizon 2. The tile layout is clunky and unintuitive, and the structure often makes no logical sense.
3) The "story"
Sure, no one expects meaningful storytelling in a racing game. But when it’s this badly written, it deserves mention. Every character is hollow and overly cheerful. You're the superstar—everyone loves you. It’s painfully bland. Even worse, you can’t skip the cutscenes.
3) Pandering to fringe groups
Accessibility options are a good thing and should be standard. But Playground Games takes it too far, pandering while forgetting the core player base. You can equip prosthetics and hearing aids—but not create an overweight character. What’s the message here? Virtue signalling.
3) Paint jobs
The livery editor hasn’t changed much since 2007. It’s practically the same as in Forza Motorsport 2. Meanwhile, recent Gran Turismo titles run circles around it.
And why the hell do I need to travel to the festival site just to repaint my car—while tuning can be done anywhere?
4) Developer laziness
It’s clear the devs are out of ideas. The “Hot Wheels” DLC is recycled, and the rally DLC feels unnecessary. And now, they rely on the community to generate content. Let’s be honest—most user content is garbage.

I’ve deliberately focused on the negatives. If you’re looking for praise, look elsewhere. I’ve invested thousands of hours into the Horizon series, which shows how much I care. But at this point, Forza has become generic fluff no one needs if they’ve played the previous games.
Recommendation?
Yes – if you’ve never played a Horizon game before.
Yes – if you’re a casual player.
No – if you’re looking for an actual challenge.

Having played every Horizon game since the OG, I have been increasingly disappointed with each subsequent game, with the exception of the Hot Wheels DLC in FH3. This game is managing to win me over.
While this game does still suffer from the same constant need to feed you dopamine through an IV, it does so in a manner that doesn't make the game boring to actually *play*. The issue with the past 3 entries is, once you complete the main "missions" of the game, it starts shoveling more shit in your face than you care to do anything with. For example, in FH3 I had every car in the game, with the exception of 3, and I only bought *maybe* 30 cars. Pair that with 32 million credits, and the game leaves you with literally nothing worth playing for.
This game changes that. There's enough content in the game to make up for the amount of money it throws at you. There are plenty of rare vehicles you can snipe off the Auction House for 20 million credits, so the money actually feels worth grinding for. The Event Lab is cool, the Arcade events are plentiful, and there are tons of different seasonal objectives as well as online events/modes.
The issue with the Horizon franchise is that there was never anything to *do*. This game fixes that issue, and while it isn't perfect by any means, it is pretty damn good. I finally feel like I have a reason to build all of these cars in my garage.
PC has always gotten the shit end of the stick when it comes to arcade racers, and this game is a masterpiece if that's what you're looking for. In fact, I'd argue that BeamNG is the only racing game that surpasses this. Now we just need Gran Turismo so I can get rid of my PlayStation...

I am playing very seldom with my 6 years old son. Every time we play, there is very substantial update. The game always starts in a map (badlands) we never play as the last. Switching to Mexico takes ages. Game keeps showing adds to content. Microsoft is plaguing me with prompts to connect with XBox account even though I always choose no. The worst part probably is the over steer each car has, it takes all fun out of it. Horrific experience.

A cringefest of a game with blatantly cheating AI and players.
Driving cars is enjoyable—sure—but that’s basically it.
The setting is so cringe I had to disable voices completely. I just pretend none of the NPCs exist and it’s all some fever dream I’m having while staring at a loading screen.
There are countless posts about the cheating AI, and don’t get me wrong—you can beat it pretty easily. But it’s not fun… or racing, for that matter. It feels like I’m fighting a script that has zero regard for the actual game rules. Yeah, it’s easily abusable once you figure it out, but that just makes it feel even less like racing and more like glitch exploitation.
Rivals and online racing are the only modes that are genuinely enjoyable to some degree. But even there… it’s infested with cheaters too. Ridiculous world records set by obvious hackers are still up years later, and the devs clearly don’t give a single flying duck about fixing it.

Amazing game, graphics incomparable to any other and I just keep coming back. I don't get much time to play but this is one of the first games I redownloaded after buying my new PC.

Forza Horizon 5 doesn’t just build on the success of its predecessor—it roars past it. Set in a vibrant, hyper-detailed version of Mexico, this is the most visually stunning, content-packed, and downright fun open-world racer yet. Playground Games has taken everything that made Horizon 4 a classic and turned the volume all the way up.
If you’ve played Forza Horizon before, you’ll feel right at home—but better. The core arcade-sim hybrid handling is still here and still top-notch. Cars feel weighty, responsive, and grounded, whether you’re tearing across sand dunes in a trophy truck or hugging corners in a McLaren.
Racing in Horizon 5 is endlessly satisfying. Whether it’s a street race at sunset, a cross-country rally through the jungle, or an impromptu drag race on a deserted airstrip, every drive feels exhilarating. The map is huge and diverse, and there's always something to do just around the next corner.
Let’s not beat around the cactus—Horizon 5’s version of Mexico is breathtaking. The map is Playground Games’ biggest and most varied yet. Lush rainforests, sprawling cities, ancient ruins, dry deserts, active volcanoes, and tropical beaches all blend into a seamless playground of speed.
Dynamic weather (including sandstorms and tropical storms), time of day, and lighting make every area feel alive. Simply driving around feels rewarding.
With over 500 cars at launch, from exotics and muscle cars to off-road monsters and classic tuners, the car list is stacked. Each vehicle is faithfully modeled, and the tuning and upgrade system gives gearheads plenty to obsess over. Paint jobs, widebody kits, engine swaps, and even horns and sound systems can be customized. Want to turn a Beetle into a dragster? Go for it.
The campaign is much more player-directed this time. You build your Horizon Festival by unlocking new outposts across Mexico, and each expansion adds different types of races and events (street, dirt, cross-country, etc.). It gives the game a sense of purpose without being restrictive.
Expeditions are a standout—story-driven adventures that mix exploration with racing and give the world context.
EventLab allows players to create their own races, mini-games, and even stunt challenges. Some user creations are wild, like Hot Wheels-style tracks or demolition derbies.
Multiplayer is packed with content: Horizon Open, Eliminator (a battle royale with cars), co-op races, and community events.
Online integration is smooth. You’ll see real players seamlessly driving around your world. Quick matchmaking and tons of seasonal content keep things fresh. Weekly playlists and challenges encourage you to come back regularly for rewards—but thankfully, they feel optional rather than obligatory.
However, there’s some bloat and UI clutter when it comes to menus and notifications. The game can be overwhelming at first with how much it throws at you.
Forza Horizon 5 isn’t just a racing game—it’s a celebration of cars, culture, and creativity. From its stunning Mexican backdrop to its overflowing content, it’s hard to find a game more joyful and well-crafted. While it builds heavily on the foundation of Horizon 4, it does so with enough new ideas, polish, and sheer scale that it firmly earns its place at the front of the pack.
If you love cars or just love having fun behind a digital wheel, Forza Horizon 5 is the best it’s ever been.

It did not launch for me. The splash screen shows and then nothing. Not even a log in event viewer most of the time. Impossible to troubleshoot. Wasted so much time for nothing.
