HERES HOW TO FIX IT!!!!!! 1. uninstall your nvidia driver completely you can display driver uninstaller to fully wipe it from the system 2. download and install nvidia driver 572.83 once thats done make sure to reboot afterwards very important. then now the game will launch and work as expected something else you may or may need to do is make sure you install VC Redist Packages 2015-2022 both x86 and x64 versions install both of these but most likely the fix above and using that version of the NVIDIA Driver will make it work. NVIDIA have made alot of changes with their newer drivers and will break compatiblity with old games like this. Hope this helps

I will forever be a Simmer, but dear god PLEASE LET ME CHOOSE WHICH EXPANSION PACKS TO PLAY! I haven't played Sims 1 in over 20yrs and coming back to all of the expansion packs is overwhelming. I'd love it if I could slowly add them so it feels like my childhood when I'd get a new expansion pack once the game got a lil stale :(

As addictive and fun as ever, the most fun game I've played in so long. I'm having a blast! THANK YOU EA for releasing it again. I'm on a Windows 11 laptop and have had zero issues with bugs or crashes.

This comes with all features from back in the day. I never had any crashes playing so far, so that's a plus. Looks great on a 1440p display. An excellent and easy way to play it nowadays imo, so give it a try.

With all its downs (EA releasing the game essentially broken) This guy is its own mess. If you are willing to put in the effort and are confident you know your computer? Go for it! I love this game. I am thankful for the hot fixes and the trial and error (I am now able to play no problems!) If you are like "Bruh I dont know nothing about my computer" this game may not be for you. There is an overall learning curve with this game (Once in its about learning the controls,etc.) The first sims game is classic and a bit of a wild ride.(The game can also be a foreign language to new players) Overall, If you are not offended by possible hiccups? Buy it. This is not me throwing shade towards anyone. The fact of the matter is this: How bad you wanna play? And are you willing to fight for your right to party? Enjoy simmers.

Ah yes, the original in all it's glory. Of all the Sims games I swear this one was the most difficult yet so nostalgic. Definitely way overpriced for what it is, even with all the expansions included. I'd wait for this one to go on sale (just as with <i>ANY</i> Sims related product) before buying. It's also not the best re-release and is obviously just EA trying to do a cash-grab from Sims players. There are bugs and issues and you can't turn on/off expansion packs (at least I haven't found a way to do it yet). There are things that could have been upgraded that weren't, like the catalog for floors and walls is just all over the place with styles and not categorized at all. So why am I recommending it? Really I just want to watch some of you suffer how we all had to back in the "good old days."

Building mode is a very nostalgic and relaxing experience. Then comes live mode and your Sims get depressed 5 minutes in. Great game.

Literally does not launch on a 7800X3D & RTX5080 system, absolutely SHAMEFUL to sell a re-release of a 25yo game and have it completely broken and unplayable! Works on Steam Deck though. DO NOT BUY!

I've accomplished crippling debt, and burn't down my house which intern got me put in jail for arson, what a lovely game.

Works fine for me, not sure where the complaints are coming from. Granted, I have just launched the game and tried a few different households and didn't have an issue. Was able to change the resolution to 4k, runs great on my 3090 and 13700k. I also have run this on my deck without any issues. Can't wait to get back into this, my only complaint, was not being able to enable which DLCs you want etc

I’d love to recommend this game, but watching the grass grow sounds more interesting.

i loved how the older ones can have jobs and you can get money to buy cool stuff but i think you need to add baby's.

This is not the original The Sims game. There's no story mode, just free play, and the free play feels different, like it's maybe a mash up of Sims 1 and Sims 2.

Played this in my youth. Being able to play again on steam, NOSTALGIC!
