I spent 90 quid on this bloody game so I better say it's good or I'll look like an idiot. pro tip: You can buy the dlc from g2play or gog

They just unilaterally pushed a new EULA on us. Even though I've owned the game for years and can't return it.

A fun game with an absolutely horrible DLC structure that makes it hard to want to ask anyone to invest in playing it with me.

really a great Warhammer game, almost a given if you llike 40k. Fairly easy to get into and real good time killer. Totally recommended

turn based rpg who's looks and themes center around the 40k universes ground-bound forces with hax based movement and combat mekanics largely inspired buy the later civ games. you will not find: space-faring units outside of drop-pod and "smaler" ship units, anny kind of diplomacy or anny kind of complex civilian systems you will find: most units you coud afford in the tabletop game withing a redikulus 20k point game. so not quite emperator titan levels but the mekanicus can sertanly spamm knights buy the lategame to crash with C'tan, Baneblades, wrath-knights and demon princes there are vastly varied levels of complexety to the factions but once you play a faction vaugely competently they are more or less equivalent in power. no faction truly lacks anny kind of unit (no im not counting artillery, its un-needed in this kind of game) and while they all use the same basic combat mekanics tehy do so in vastly difrent ways that makes the factions feel a lot like their tabletop counterparts. elar are fast and hit hard but are expensive and somewat squishy, imperial guard and tyranids can swarm with loads of cheap infantry backed upp buy more expensive units that can aktualy dish out the hurt or support the larger army and space marines are tehir usual generic jack of all trades yet master of none.

Freaking love it! Finally the digital table top version (more or less). It shouldn't have taken this long to get this game but at least it's here now.

Civilization but WH40K. Easiest way to describe it. Establish your Base and take territory. Complete your missions to advance the story. Avoid fighting the Necrons. Attack those who wish to destroy your Stronghold. Avoid Fighting the Necrons. Destroy Enemy Strongholds! You will not destroy the Necrons early. Its fun, don't fight the necrons if you can help it, they're annoyingly strong against most races specially at the start. Many runs have been ended by them. Many more will be ended by them.

Lots of replay value, decently balanced factions. All around a good turn based strategy game with none of that silly civilization diplomacy!

I wouldn't quite call this a 4x game since there's so much emphasis on the war instead of other win conditions. That aside, 40k fans that enjoy 4x games will find a lot of to love. I currently only have the base game, but the 4 factions all feel really unique. I'm assuming the same will hold up with the other faction DLCs.
