The previous two games in the series (Thief Simulator 1 & 2) were fun play-at-your-own-pace open-world games, where you burgled, fenced, and upgraded your way to greatness. I was looking forward to a co-op version of those games, but this is a disappointment. This iteration adds features that seem calculated to increase player frustration. First, rather than giving you infinite time and 24-hour NPC schedules for each house (so you could pick the perfect time for your burglary of each residence), this game has two gameplay phases: a daytime hideout where you sell goods and a timed (~10 minute) nighttime section where you must commit all your thefts. The earlier games allowed strategizing, whereas this one forces under-equipped early-game players to recklessly enter as many houses as possible in a limited time to meet a new quota system. Second, you are beholden to a criminal group that bailed you out of jail and the game adds that quota system giving the player 3-day quotas (30 minutes of thieving playtme) to meet dollar amounts of stolen goods. This further reduces the time spent plan heists while incentivizing reckless play, and adds a ticking clock that is at odds with the strategic gameplay of earlier games. And unlike the prior games, which gave you all your earnings, this game leaves you 10% after the crime syndicate takes the rest. Third, inventory is severely limited. Rather than the backpack (weight-capped) inventory of prior games, this one provides just 5 inventory slots early in the game and some of those slots must be taken up by tools like the prybar or lock pick. This means that needless extra back-and-forth trips to your nighttime item drop point are required. wasting already scarce time. Finally, all tools now have durability meters, breaking after a fixed of use. Rather than the prior games' breakage mechanic that allowed lock pick breakage only after sustained mistakes at a single lock (careful usage would allow a pick to last for in-game weeks), this game forces players to spend their meager earnings on replacement tools. Maybe gameplay changes drastically later in the game, but I'm unlikely to find out as I think I'm done with it.

If I wanted to play R.E.P.O. or Lethal Company I would just play these. There´s not need for Crime Simulator to market itself as a Simulator. In every aspect significantly inferior to Thief Simulator 2. You can´t spy on people, figure out their routine by yourself with obervation tools. Instead you pay 25$ for a tip and I quote: "Pattern is completely randomized but she likes to sleep". No gameplay involved in that. I want to reiterate: THIS IS NOT A SIMULATOR, it´s a Lethal Company/Repo re-skin but the evil monsters are the police who can shoot a taser from over 20m away and can outrun you because you have limited stamina and they don´t. Playing hide and seek has nothing to do with strategy or planning. The devs are playing the real Crime Simulator by stealing 15$ out of my PayPal account. Refunded of course. Edit: Bought Thief Sim 2. It´s amazing. Abandon Crime Simulator, and update that other game. That´s worth investing in.

I don't understand why the dev has added the whole 'Quota' feature, and why we are locked on nighttime only... Thief Sim 1 & 2 were such great games, that gave you the time to do whatever, whenever (a bit of casual feeling, without too much pressure). The day schedule of the occupants is also gone, and the whole gathering information aspect of the game, which I miss a lot. I've also been stacking a lot of items in my truck (+20 easily from paintings to wine to dozen of cellphones and creditcards) over a few quotas, until I got smacked by a noscope MLG Police Officer, and lost everything in the truck, which I wasn't even aware this would happen... If the whole quota system is gone, and all the features from TS1 & TS2 are added again, then I will reconsider buying this game, but until than I'm out.

As it currently stands, just a much worse version of Thief simulator; not every game has to be Lethal Company. Also very much not a Simulator. For it's premise its remakably unfun and is only a good heist sim in the sense that it heists the players out of ~15€.

I have been playing for a little bit and several times I closed off the game and opened up Thief Simulator 1&2 this is just a simple knock off with multiplayer added! The only way to go steal stuff is night time only witch Thieft Sim has the option to do day & night the night times run way to fast and dont give you enough time to steal much witch thief sim allows you to stay there as long as you want and steal as much as your car can hold. I like the fact that you have a quota to meet as it brings kind of like a little story to the game but with the other aspects mentioned i dont think this game is playable! It needs to have the time limit removed so you can steal stuff when ever you wish day or night. All in all I think I'll be requesting a refund because its just a simple knock off! If you want to spend your money on a good game like this i would suggest Thief Simulayor 1&2!

It's a good game, you get 3 days to steal your way through to reach your quota. The moment you reached it, you will get a new higher quota, if you do not manage to reach it, you will be "dealt with" by snipers but keep all of your skills, furniture and 75% of your money for the next run. [strike]Why did I refund it? It's because of the 6AM timer, while I was playing the time went red once it reached 5AM, I want to take my time stealing and doing crime stuff, I am really bad with Time restraints.[/strike]

Very Fun game enjoy it a lot, really wish there was a free roam ish mode added though, not a big fan of feeling like I am rushed or timed to complete a quota, or possibly play free roam after completing quota.

I keep reading negative reviews that say this game is like Lethal Company, REPO or Phasmophobia like that's a bad thing. I enjoyed all those game and I enjoy this one as well. There doesn't have to be something ground breaking about every game. There just has to be fun elements that are drawn together and work well with each other in new and fun ways. I think that's what has been done here. The dev has brought together good mechanics that he has used in other games to make something a little different and fun to play. I'm glad to have new games, that are fun to play with a few friends and are cheap enough for anyone, even if you're on a budget. Plus the dev cares, he listens and responds to the player base. So many updates and hot fixes from day one proves that and that is becoming very rare.

I don't understand how a demo was significantly more polished than the final product. NPCs can literally see you through walls. NPCs will see you crossing a street doing nothing and will then decide to call the police on you for no reason. Cops will randomly just be called on you when you've not done anything, random disconnects occur, skill leaflets are consumed on single use vs the demo where it was two uses, making multiplayer a bit more annoying. The demo was perfect, there was no reason to make any of these changes to make the game harder. It was enjoyable how it was.

Garbage game, the ai is so bad. Cops can just go through solid walls. Also you don't just call the cops because you hear a sound.... Doesn't make sense at all

Game has potential, lets put it that way. This is by NO means a simulator. This is more akin to R.E.P.O, with the running around like Payday with the UI mechanics of Phasmophobia - without the violence. You had to meet a quota that is due every few days - don't do it, you fail - balance your loot income out with buying tools, furniture, what have you. You even have optional side missions, item requests, etc., to pad out your methods of income and increase income efficiency. The maps are also quite nice - it isn't some single building raid, but you're spawned on a large town/block and you can freely burglar multiple properties. Each has their own tenants, patrols, cameras, so forth. It is physically impossible to obtain all the possible loot within the given timeframe as a single player; and possibly not even as a duo. Even the first map has hundreds of loot items. My current issues with the state of the game are thusly; - This isn't a legit simulator. This is too arcade-y and may mislead people. - Let the in-game rounds go longer! Or be able to adjust the time crunch. Sometimes it can take a solo player an entire night to learn a single home's patrols, cameras, etc., and bam - its 5 AM. - AI/NPCs need a liiiiittle bit more time to bake and updating. The game isn't really hard, and it isn't super easy either. It is just their current behavior mechanics make it a predictible patrol stealth game more than anything. - Need more maps... More maps. Like... More. It's a fun game to kill some time; but it'll take a handful of patches, map additions, and tweaking to see its wings fully start to fly. Has potential.

I really wanted to like this game and it could get a lot better. I know the dev is active and listens to the community, so theres hope. Unfortunately, I have to agree with some other folks for the moment. The lethal company/REPO aspect to this is not fun and basically impossible to meet quote with very limited skills, tools and the value of items being so low.. along with having basically no money to buy anything. Thief sim 2 was great at what it is. This could be too, it doesnt need to co opt ideas from other games. Crime takes time and planning too so the time limit is unfun. Also crime. More crime exists than just stealing things. Knocking people out is a crime, but smacking someone with a bat 5+ times does nothing? I hope there are incoming patchs to address some of the issues me and other are seeing. Edit: Endless mode helps, but thief sim 2 is still just so much better. Playing the exact same content over and over again for minimal gain isnt my idea of fun.

They took all the mechanics from thief simulator 2 then somehow made it worse. Cant stand how these games force me to speed run the day in 24 mins, at least make a mode like thief simulator 2. Shoulda just added a new map to the previous game instead of this BS.

I've seen people say to not consider this a simulator. That is completely true. I have played thief simulator 1 and had a lot of fun playing it like a simulator: learning the tenants' routines, using lots of tools to break in quietly, avoiding police etc. This game is definitely not a simulator, but it is definitely worth getting. If you enjoy quota-based games like R.E.P.O and Lethal Company with the style of a realistic thief game, this is definitely for you. Please keep in mind that it's more enjoyable with friends, as playing alone could potentially get boring quickly. It is frustrating at times, but the amount of laughs I've had with my friends playing the beta, and now the full game, are endless. Definitely would purchase again.

This game is very buggy, the linked items that is requested, you can send them off and they either get linked or unlinked so you can never finish it off. Unsure why things are unlinking, but makes getting the extra xp, money and rewards horrible and nasty. Not only the item listed above but for some reason the game keeps hanging randomly on load screens. Also a note about the gameplay, not aimed at solo play so dont bother if you dont have 3 more friends to play with. Needs a lot of polish work before any updates if i am honest.

This game is actually super fun. I really enjoy playing it with my girlfriend and I‘m sure she does too. It‘s a mix of thief simulator, hitman, phasmophobia and lethal company. I love the concept of having to fulfill a quota, that makes it more grindy which I like! And even if you fail a quota, you won’t lose everything. The only thing that can be frustrating are the NPCs who can block your way when you’re trying to run off. But I can absolutely recommend the game. I hope for more maps, houses and loot types soon!

Game overall is not something I was expecting. Quota is such a disadvantage that atleast for me, its impossible to earn anything. You have 2 days to earn 1k, and when you do, here's your payment: 250. Wonderful. As for me, quota should be lower, then it can be high so players can actually earn something. Another thing is inventory. You have 5/8 slots for items and tools. Basically take 3 items, return to truck and repeat. There should be backpack, like in thief simulators. I understand that there is also multiplayer but for gods sake, is game forcing you to play with other people in order to actually enjoy it? Okay, so we barely earn something (if we do), but atleast we dont need to buy new tools. Wrong. Introducing tool durability! Then you need to buy a new tool. But with what? Excellent question. I could say more things but those are the most important ones for me. Maybe Im just too inexperienced or something but I'll just say something, I was playing at the easiest difficulty. And if the easiest one is this, Im scared how harder difficulties look like. In my opinion, it would be amazing if that game was more like thief simulator 2, which is already great.

I'm a bit dissappointed that the game went the friendslop way of Lethal Company/REPO. The previous games I liked for the chill aspect of taking your time to case joints and being able to advance at your own pace. Putting Simulator in the title comes with some expectations and coming from 2 games that did this well made this game a diservice. I don't like timers, I don't like the "working shift" gameplay cycle they implemented and I certainly dislike the lack of a free roam mode to explore and discover everything, organically, on your own; like the two previous games did. And it's a shame, because in the few minutes I've played, I liked the new lockpicking minigames and I saw some new equipment and improvements on TS2's already good mechanics. I just wish this would have been Thief Sim 3. I won't refund because I like the dev and I want to support his solo endeavours; but I'd like for him to consider maybe an alternate game mode for the players like me that expected something else.

I actually liked this game but every game has flaws. What I wish this game would be better at [to help the game shift into a place where I feel should end up] 1. Have home owner info be accurate. if someone likes to sleep have him/her sleep more than any other home owner in the game. 2. be able to use your middle mouse button to build up a profile of the home owners overtime. Perhaps allow this function to be limited in use or be behind a skill. 3. Expand the tutorial to explain other aspects of the game, golden cards, that it's supposed to be a rogue-like etc. 4. remove stamina bar. or make the cops slower/ not one hit kill you. 5. If you don't adjust the cops don't make them remove our inventory of gear. [especially on casual] 6. have an explanation of what skills do so we know if we want to use them [some are more obvious than others but there's a few that're blind chances] 7. Add hiding spots to the game. for example wardrobes, under the bed, etc. That way if nothing else gets nerfed with the cops we still get a fighting chance. That way you're slowly rising from a nobody to a mastermind. these are just some of the changes or features I'd like to see implemented.

I don't really want to give a thumbs down but then again I don't really want to give a thumbs up. Definitely in between but more of a thumbs down. I loved thief simulator 1 and 2. And I get they're kinda trying a new concept here. But if you mess up, there doesn't seem to be an option to restart? And if you "lose" the game starts complete over? Like a permadeath kinda thing. Would rather have the freedom to enjoy new environment and things to steal. Maybe like a thief sim 3? I'll keep giving it a go but I think its going to become very repetitve and boring if you fail (which I already have just learning different tactics and mucking about)

I don't understand people who compare the thief simulator and this game, because although they have similar mechanics, they are different. The game was originally designed for multiplayer, as many people after the release of the thief simulator asked the developers to add the ability to play online. The developer would have had to modify the entire code to make the game work properly, but it would have been better to create a different game specifically designed for this purpose. The game is great, and it's worth giving it a chance to shine. It also has a lot of fun

I have the best time in this game and while im not playing its reading the Steam Rewiews. I played both Thief sim´s and this one and in my opinion this is a great game for coop even if they add coop to Thief sim 2 i would prefer this game. I love the metaprogression aswell as the hole skill system. This game has many bugs right now for sure but its a lot off fun with friends. Sidenote: I saw a review where someone stacked his loot in the truck.... dont be such a Fool please and just store it in youre Base there is enough space to store youre shit between a Run. And by furniture its a Metaprogressive feature that stays between runs aswell :D

Honestly, Love the game, Although I went to try out the endless mode and it saved over my game, Could probably do with a better system for saves. But otherwise I played with some friends and was hooked, played for 19 hours on Standard mode unlocking things and progressing, was a blast and I will definitely be playing more, just slightly heart broken at the loss of progress, I wish it had given me the option to select the save spot the game would be saved under instead of overwriting the previous save. Still a great game though!

I like playing crime simulator. Although there are many problems the game is just fun for me. Here are some of the problems that I remember listed below (Not in any order) 1. (Progression) Long progression, I'm 40 hours in and I still have yet to beat the game. This may be a problem for some, but I really like games with long progression especially if I think it's fun and unique. I have reached level 13 and unlocked reader, stealth 2, strong 2, electronics 2, pick lock 3, agility 3, and 7 world rewards. My reason for not having stealth 3 nor strong 3 is because for some reason when spamming the tier 2 - 3 boxes, certain skill books just stopped showing up. 2. (Items) Basically no good reason to farm using bobby pin, stethoscope, blowtorch and like every item besides THE glass knife, and simple pick lock. Using the mentioned tools when grinding feels so meaningless to me since it's not like the items inside the safes and stuff are worth it like at all, unless if you're sigma and can play the game and actually have skill then maybe you can have also have fun. If you want to have fun and beat a CRIME simulator, not a crime SIMULATOR, it's gonna take you a long time. 3. (Police and Difficulty) If you get caught by the police playing on casual - normal difficulty, you'll probably be fine if you know the strats, which is go into a building and juking the goofyass police AI since you hopefully have agility 3 or else you might be cooked. Now if you're playing on the hard or master difficulty, just give up at that point since the police still have aimbot even though they nerfed it + they oneshot you without armor. Take note of the fact that on-top of being chased by a helicopter for commiting basiccc larceny or a civilian somehow calling the police in like 3 seconds and all of the officers patrolling just going for you, police drones are also scattered on the map like the difficulty wasn't hard enough. 4. (Grinding, My experience) WARNING Ignore this part if you don't want to keep remembering how someone else did something in a game. The main way I played the game was just spamming garage, paired with a simple pick lock and a glass knife, I was damn near unstoppable. I unlocked advanced electronics pretty late so I wasn't able to loot the 4th garage for a while, but it's definitely worth it. If the tenant spotted me, I just escaped by jumping onto the dumpster to escape and left since the cops would arrive near the garage. Mostly all I did. It might seem really boring, but it's suprisingly fun for a bored teenager with nothing better to do. Suggestions (Mostly unrelated to the problems) 1. (Multiplayer Tab) Add a multiplayer tab where players can make a server publicly. I know there's a way to play with friends already, but adding it could still be beneficial for players who don't feel like joining the discord (Not me I swear)... or just have no friends that own this game. 2. (Police Doesn't One-shot) I think it's a waste of the health system if the only way you get damaged is by getting smacked by the tenant. This would let you at least run away from the police even if you probably won't escape on higher difficulties. 3. Add a less time restrictive game mode. Buying items like the silenced pistol isn't the best item to buy and to use in a stealth game where the police currently abuse you, feels like wasted potential for the other tools. If you decrease the time restrictions it's more time to plan instead of feeling the need to level up. The day feature would still be included but you have more days to work with, if you fail then you lose the run. I'm not exactly sure how much time should be given, but at least 10 - 40 hours. (What I expect people who played this with friends to think) From the trailer I watched they intended to make the game chaotic and fun with friends, but what if you have none that own this game. The game is also just too too hard to even mess around in, try to break the door like they did in the game preview and you get fked by the police. Playing casual lowers the amount of loot available, so how do they even expect us to beat the game. Because of this I have to play like the main gameplay element is just grind, to hide in the dark and steal as much loot as possible. Why even make the steam preview look so fun just to not be close to the actual game. This is probably what I subconsciously think but I still like the game though Anyways enough yapping, I clearly have just have a skill issue. This is just my personal experience playing the game, made most of this review with what I can remember so might be completely wrong. (Buy it on a sale if you're good with money)

The game is very lethal company coded - which isn't a bad thing. However, got really boring after quota 2. The amount of money you get at the end of the quota makes it extremely hard to open new areas, buy the tools you need, unlock the hints for houses, and buy the furniture for you hideout to get buffs (which is the point of the game?)- as it stands now, I'm not sure how we would ever hit the higher quotas without being able to afford the buffs and tools, making anything past quota 2 or 3 just unplayable and not fun. The game has potential but as it is now, I wouldn't play it anymore than I already have (fun and good foundation, but needs work on the details)

The amount of people giving this game crap all because they think its just a re-skin of lethal company. Bro, there's already hundreds of games out there trying to be like lethal company. What's wrong with this one having the same play style?? I think it's fun ESPECIALLY when you play with friends. A lot of people give negative reviews on multiplayer games when they play it alone cuz they don't get the full experience of just enjoying a silly little game with friends. Ya'll have too much high expectation for a game that just game out. Thief simulator is a single player game. Most single player games will have more intense mechanics cuz they want to revolve the game around a single player and provide the best experience they can. When you add in multiplayer to a game like that, you have to try to dim down on some of those mechanics to accommmodate the increased amount of players. To those of you reading the petty, whining and pouting reviews cuz "boo hoo its not like THIS game its not like THAT game" ignore that crap. Maybe the game doesn't have to be like the game you're crying about bro. Just grab a couple friends and have fun. I played 8 hours straight just goofin with my friends on the first day it release (we were not expecting to have as much fun as we did on it) and it was honestly hilariously fun. Give it a shot. It's really not even that bad when you get into it.

CLUNKY!!!!!!! Mantling is clunky and you cannot jump over small objects as the collision is off. Forget opening doors/drawers softly as 90% of the time it SLAMS them back shut alerting the neighbors who seem to have a COP in their pocket ready to trap you in a corner and beat you to death. TLDR skill issue or sh*t controls?

Great game, I honestly don't understand peoples complaining about it not being a game where you simulate crime, cause I'm pretty sure that stealing and knocking people out is a crime... Otherwise regarding the game, I've only played in duo yet but I haven't encountered any bugs, I would like more progression where we can upgrades tools and etc just so I have something else to farm with everything around, having more skill as well or certain gear you can equip to give you faster lock picking skill or quieter movement, etc etc. This game have a lots of potential and for a single dev, I'd say that I'm impress. I recommend this 100%

I am honestly very disappointed in how this game worked out as i know that the developer can do much better and i am refunding it, the inventory is the first issue being only 5 slots(possibly expandable later but still small) + rest u have to go back into the truck which has made it almost impossible to actually clear out a house since the whole people schedule mechanic was scrapped (while being only at night) as well as skill trees not being there(now we have skill books which looks like a inspiration from 7D2D but poorly executed) means i can barely get 3 things + one heavy and while getting out 99% of the time getting spotted. I understand how some people may find stealthing or just stealth in general boring but to me it is what both TS1 and TS2 were about and with this game i was hoping it would carry on, it is sad to see that the developer has decided to shine away from what made TS1 and 2 so unique and made it into another dopamine filled game based on stealing and quotas. Now i believe the game can be salvaged and not all is lost but there needs to be some serious changes about it to be playable or even buyable again for me. First thing it needs is to remove the quota, this isn't repo or lethal company we don't need to have quotas also make the NPCs a bit more realistic, in my gameplay i have had some NPCs not even touch their bed the whole night and don't even let me start on their detection its poor at best they spot u crouching on a sidewalk or through walls and call the police on u while u cant even hit them while they are dialing. If this game was a standalone i would not say anything, i wouldn't buy it but that's beside the point. I honestly feel like if the developer just took TS2 put in new town names and changed a few minor things and branded it as TS3 I would rather buy that, than this. I can't think of a single thing this game got right or had better than TS1 and 2.

As of now game is just featureless re skin of thief simulator 1&2 , repetitive even after 10 minutes of playtime, inventory is horrible, AI is dumb af, story was never main focus but yea once again you are repaying debt how original, i have a bit more then 1 hour and have no will to play game again

Take the ideas of Thief Simulator with the objectives of Lethal Company, then strip what made both of those games good. The game is okay at its best, and painfully dull at its worst.

after playing Thief Simulator 2 this is an incredibly disappointing game, everything that is in this game is in Thief Simulator 2 but better.
