Hard West

An amazing game held back by awkward design choices like constant fog of war, enemies can do attacks of opportunity if you walk near them but you cannot, each chapter adds some gimmicky bullshit that's insanely boring and progression between chapters is non existent even between those that share protagonist.

Took me a few attempts of a few years to get into it and finally finish it, but I'm glad I took the time to do so now during my downtime. The turn-based strategy is nice, but not the best I've experienced. It was the overall aesthetics and weird west genre that made me want to even consider it in the first place. Quite frankly I think the world needs far more weird west, and the darker the better. I found the horror aspects in this game to be pretty weak, but that's ok. Not everyone is as desensitised to things as I am. Not gonna lie, I used a walkthrough for this game for the overland map stuff, but not for the turn-based combat portion of the game. Don't even remember when I bought this, but it was most likely during a sale or as part of some bundle somewhere many years ago.

I really want to like this game, But in the steam store all the pic show all the XCOM parts of the game was like cool western XCOM, then reality comes shows you that 90% of the game is the map where you choose options each time you select the map but never see your character doing something Just let me push a book to read what the option you selected give you then after all that you get 4 mission each scenario where you get to XCOM lol

Admittedly quite rough around the edges but the atmosphere is IMMACULATE and the story is short and sweet. Hustlers must play. Pro-tip: The checkpoints can be bad and there's no option to speed up the animations. Highly recommend using Cheat Engine's speedhack feature.
