Children of Morta: Paws and Claws

Rare is it that I do an insta-buy, but this DLC was worth it. 100% to animal welfare charity and I get a bit of in-game boosts in an already pretty awesome and wholesome game? Yes please. This will unlock a new side room to the house which grants you access to a new stat boost system. You find pet treats in your dungeons and feed them to the family pets to boost their happiness. The happier they are, the more boosts (crit/xp/etc) you get. This will also unlock a few wandering animals like deer and a peacock around the forests outside the Bergson home. After you buy the DLC, you need to run a dungeon to unlock the cutscene/tutorial that introduces the new system. Update: The perks you get from this DLC are temporary and you obtain them by finding random drops in dungeons called Pet Treats. You feed the treats to a pet of choice, who grants you the bonus for a time.

As someone who had their dog die this year I immediately bought this not only since it donates 100% of the proceeds to the Humane Society International charity but also so I can feel closer again to my lost furry friend who use to lay near me while I was gaming. I miss you Laika! <3

A cozy little DLC for a wonderful game, collecting money for a good cause. There's no thinking twice needed here.

With this DLC I can aid them both![/h3] This addon is more or less a “donate to charity, get some in-game content” deal. According to the steam page this addon has generated 300000 $ to animals in need. I'm already onboard for that! The addon adds animals to the Bergson homestead with additional pet food dropping in the dungeons. The pets that get fed the highly nutritious snacks get happier and provide the party with bonuses on their runs. A small but really neat expansion that helps animals in game and in meatspace. Recommended.

Nice DLC, because of the ingame buffs and the donation to animal help its a nobrainer to buy. Im a little disappointed that the active animals dont join the Bergsons in the dungeons and that there is no way to pet the animals. Kevin from Overcooked told me he is pretty upset about this.

I've barely played the game, and what little I've played I've liked. The moment I saw that the proceeds go to Humane Society, I bought it. It's worth every dollar, and it's not very expensive. Do buy it, it'll be worth it.

If you're going to play this game, there is no downside to spending two dollars to donate to charity and get some extra animals running around in-game for flavor!

I love Children of Morta. I love the art, the mechanics, the story and pretty much everything about it. My one complaint was that when I beat it I wanted more. Now theres more! This DLC is awesome. More story, another room - rescuing and caring for animals. PLUS all money from the purchase of the DLC goes to Humane Society International. I did my research about the charity itself, and its a good one. So, if you like Children of Morta, you could do way worse than donating $4 to a good charity to get more content. And if you havent played Children of Morta, go check it out - its completely worth it. Then go buy the DLC too, and know you are saving cute fuzzy animals IRL and in game!

The first charity dlc i've ever bought, the charity puts around 80% of revenue into projects and their CEO takes £0 from the charity. Unlike many charities set up to make their managers rich this charity actually seems to be making a massive difference. I hope this sells well, thank you for supporting such a good charity :)

All of the proceeds go to an animal charity. Lovely. I love the devs for that. The DLC adds small buffs and a lot of visual happiness. The buffs are cool, nothing gamechanging, as it should be. It is nice to feed your animals. The added animations make the world even more vivid and living. I love animals.

A wholesome DLC for an absolutely awesome game that supports Humane Society International charity? I think that is pretty much no-brainer honestly. Anything that supports animals is worth it in my book and I really love companies that are trying to make the world a better place one step at a time! :)

I bought this DLC not for the content, but because I was so impressed that devs would willingly give up their finances in pursuit of a noble cause. In an age where microtransactions, paid DLC (that should have been in the original game), and early access titles never finishing, these folks are giving up their chance at a little more extra money in order to help animals. But you also get some stuff out of it too. ... Still though, I hope they don't go out of business for giving away all their moneyz.

DLC that helps irl animals in need? I mean, that alone made me buy it. But on the DLC part it is also pretty neat, since it adds some new mechanics in form of treats and boosts provided to you by various pets pf Bergsons' when fed with those treats. It's nice to see pets have some more mechanics to them. It's not an expensive DLC so I say feel free to buy it if you want some more content for the game.

I bought everything from a bundle, just for the game being awesome by itself, and then I discover the story about this DLC, which means I've helped the animals' cause. Thats freakin' awesome!

A great DLC for a great cause. You can get it at a steal too. I was happy to get this to support the devs and the Humane Society.

I don't really like that you only find food and then unlock brief temporary boni for feeding the animals. Kind of expected that you unlock the animals by finding them in the dungeon like the wolf cup. But as it is for charity who am I to downvote

When I saw real animals at the very beginning of the video I thought "It would be very nice if they donate this money for real animals". That's the kindest move I have ever seen from a video game company. Oh god, that made me so happy. Thanks guys :)

The DLC content is cute and well implemented, but come on .... thats not the reason you buy this. This is a tremendous show of heart and genuine kindness from a developer I've followed for years. Get some cute new DLC, save animals and make a difference.

Not a bad idea. But few animals. Temporary bonuses. Food that is difficult to find in the beginning and is not taken automatically. I rarely used it and only some bonuses. If there were constant bonuses and other animals it would be better.

Didnt even played the base game yet. Still waiting because I need to finish some other games first. But charity stuff (especially for animals) is always a thumbs up.

You can't go wrong with supporting a good cause like this, especially when there's cute wolf cub included

I was planning to buy this game soon but this move by dead mage and 11 bit studios gained so much respect from me that i felt the need to help. And its such a great game. Just finished the first boss and im so thrilled to experience the rest of the game.
