The Hong Kong Massacre

A semi-enjoyable, mediocre, John Woo-style Hotline Miami clone. It's not particularly polished, and some of its aspects feel quite at odds with the kind of experience the game wants to offer (especially the unlockables, which basically force you to give up one of the game's best features), but it has enough content to scratch that itch, albeit not for long. I personally wasn't interested enough to go all the way through. Ultimately, I'd rather just play Hotline Miami again. But it's fine.

Cant's say I enjoyed it. Doors are frustrating, and the enemy's ability to pinpoint you even after you maneuver is irritating. Something feels off and clunky about the movement. Guns don't really have any punch. If you aren't used to one-shot and you're dead games like Hotline Miami and so-on, avoid this one. It won't ease you into it at all and is significantly more difficult even on medium. I like a challenge, but this one wasn't really fun. Maybe I'll get around to it another time, but it didn't even feel like I enjoyed the gameplay for $4. Feels cheap, and the gameplay just wasn't fun to me. As of now, 96% of players have killed their first enemy, and only 67% have killed 100 (which I was able to do in 10 minutes over 2 levels) if that tells you anything.

The UI is totally a piece of shxt. Some bottons will disappear and you have no choice but Alt+F4.

man I wish hotline miami had horrible movement, was terribly optimized, had unsatisfying gunplay and a horrible soundtrack

Sick gameplay, and also VERY REPLAYABLE. Totally recommended!

tactically shoot all the enemies in an area without dying. i truly appreciate how the AI works here - rotating around angles and backing each other up. having an optional slowdown effect is a clever boost for the player; more clever still is rewarding the player for surviving without it. having a roll/slide to make yourself safe is also pretty neat the visuals are great as well, and the music fits. it looks kinda like a tabletop game tiny gripe: i don't care so much about achievements, but i will mention that there are achievements slated for "medium difficulty"...and they don't apply to "medium or hard" - they are medium only. i had achieved the majority of the challenges in hard mode before realizing i would only get the achievement if i turned down the difficulty. a bit strange!

john woo meets hotline Miami... that;s all you need to know. doesn't have much depth to it but what it does do is fun if you enjoy the hong kong action film aesthetic.

Hard, but very fun. Great game to play in short sessions. Just as fun Hotline Miami. But with a cool visual style and setting.

Like Hotline Miami but with different graphics and art-style. Good music and shooting mechanics. Story is basically non-existent. Recommended to get it on an extreme sale.

Apparently this game inspired a scene in a john wick movie which is crazy because this game is actually terrible

Good shit Hotline Miami but better. Hotline miami is a overrated flash game in my opinion and this game adds things to it that make it more fun.
