Spyro the Dragon was my very first video game back on the original PlayStation and seeing him so lovingly brought back to life in this trilogy was heartwarming! ... At least at first, until I remembered how rage-inducing some of the later sections are, but at least they recreated how annoying it was too! I aimed for 100% completion and some of the skill points are a nightmare. The achievements were all relatively easy and you'll get most of them simply by playing the game normally. Took me roughly 50 hours to get everything done and I *really* sucked at the skateboarding sections. My only criticisms for the PC-specific Reignited version are that it wasn't optimised too well when ported over to PC (I played the Reignited Trilogy on PS4 as well and had no problems) all linked to framerate - setting the frames to unlimited will cause you all kinds of issues from Spyro sliding around on his own to game-breaking problems with boss fights. Not the end of the world as you can simply set the framerate to 60fps (30fps in some cases) mid-fight. And again, I really sucked at the skateboarding. Not sure if it was actually hard or if I was just bad at it but, regardless, I never feel the need to ever touch a skateboard again. Despite some minor issues, it's a faithful recreation of the purple boi we love so much. You can tell it was made with love and by people that really care and that it's not just a cash-grab jumping on the remake bandwagon. Hopeful for a brand new Spyro game sometime in the future! :)

ABSOLUTE BANGER! Now that I have 100%:ed (in game and in steam achievements) the game it is time to leave a lil review. This is an AMAZING re-make of the classic original Spyro games that I, and many others, grew up playing. The games are VERY MUCH intact, even leaving in little quirks and such that could have easily been removed during this re-make. And I really appreciate it. It FEELS just like playing the old classics. But they do tho have a very nice new coat of paint, and it feels like the world of Spyro has FINALLY been able to come to life the way it was intended! Are these games very challenging? Not really, they are simple platformer collectathons. But that doesn't mean they are bad! Each game is oozing with sauce as you are transported into this magical and cozy world, and meet a fun and enjoyable cast of friends! And while the platforming isn't on the harder side, it is still very very fun and enjoyable thanks to tight level design, a really fun move set, and cool level gimicks! If you played these games growing up and want to re-visit them I highly recommend you do so! If you have not played these games before, but love platformers and collectathons, then I ALSO highly recommend you jump right in!

Spyro the Dragon. A trilogy of games featuring a dragon who is the son of Spy and Pyro. Made by the same people who made the endearing PlayStation 1 classic Disruptor. With the overwhelming sucess of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, it was inevitable that Spyro would have his turn reliving his better years. At this point, he was more known as the guy who's name was in the title of the first Skylanders game and played by an actor from Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings. When it was first dropped on PS4, only the first game was available on disk and the other two games had to be downloaded through an internet connection. Later revisions would have all three on disk for later PS4 disks and XBox One but the Switch port which wasn't even on the cards until someone got it working on the system does still require an internet connection to download the rest of the package. On PC, all three are available to play once you have it downloaded to your system. Three gorgeous looking games rendered in Unreal Engine versus the Alchemy Engine for NST and a lot of care has been put into the presentation. A fact that rings true even for the PS1 originals compared to the Crash games at the time. While Crash made a big leap from 1 to 2 both graphically and gameplay wise in the original games, Spyro didn't change much between Spyro and Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage other than receiving expansions to his movesets. Year of the Dragon sees the introduction of other playable characters who functions well including Agent 9. The three games are all remade from the ground up with everyone getting a new HD model each. Some seeing quite a visual change from their original design like Shelia. The gameplay remains the same and the controls for Spyro were already good as is in the oirgnal games. The other playable characters do see improvements in their controls to make them a little less annoying to use. The music and sound design are top notch. Unlike NST, there is an option to have the orignal music toggled on if you are not keen on the RT remixes. The cast give a great performance as their respective characters including Tom Kenny who had experience playing the character before in the original Spyro 2 and Year of the Dragon. In the original Spyro the Dragon, he was voiced by Carlos Alaraqui but he was replaced by Tom Kenny for most of the Classic Spyro series up to 2002 due to his Spyro voice sounding too nasally and entitled for the devs' liking. In RT, all of Carlos Alazraqui's lines in the first game are now redone by Tom Kenny and now more in line with the sequels. All done to a high standard as expected. Between this and NST, I would say the Spyro Trilogy holds up better overall as a set of games but both have their own strengths and weaknesses. If you want a trilogy of games that's fun to 100% casually or to earn all achievements for, Spyro RT is the more pleasant of the two for that. You're less likely to get frustrated by game design that still holds up today than one that show their age of when they were made. If I have to choose between this or NST, I would probably go with Spyro RT as an overall experience. Very cosy games to go through at your leisure. Your gamer frustration with Spyro even in the Skill Point department is less common than gamer frustration with Crash in the crates, gems and relics department. Give this collection a pick up if you can get it on sale and watch out for those flying boxes. They killed my grandfather one time but that's a story for another time. Word of note: Make sure your 3D Managment's FPS is set to 60, VSync on and in the game's graphics setting (More extensive than NST's), you can adjust the features to ensure a smoother experience. If you encounter the likes of a stuck door in Alpine Ridge; set the FPS to 30, 50, 60 or Unlimited to fix it. The game behaves weird at 120 FPS depending on your system. Oh and for the love of Pete's Dragon, turn off the motion blur as soon as possible. Seriously. Check the community threads for more detail.

Spyro has been my favorite game ever since I was a kid, and this remaster is everything I could have ever asked for. From having the ability to toggle the music between the Reignited OST and Classic OST, to seeing all of my favorite levels upscaled and beautifully crafted for the modern era, this game delivers for both classic fans and new fans who are just jumping in. I remember seeing the reveal for Reignited Trilogy and crying because this series has meant the world to me for as long as I've been able to play video games.

It's really good. But I'm going to mark this review as not recommended because there's STILL several issues that haven't been fixed in the years that this game has been out. They just don't care, because they don't think it'll get them any more money if they fix them. Love the game by the way.

It's a dumb fun game, nothing groundbreaking but it's a smooth experience, it's a bunch of content and if you played the originals it's a good nostalgic feeling (unlike when you play something you remembered being great and it's actually bad).

This was the first game I ever played in my life on the PS1 back in the very early 2000s. It was my favorite game throughout my childhood and nothing not even the remastered can compare, yet it still gives me a glimpse of the originals. I know there is an option for the OG soundtrack at least and that's the setting I keep on. Now that there's been a remaster out for a while, I originally got it on Switch on release and figured out how stuttery it was, I lived with it until recently getting the PC version and BOY was that a game changer. The smoothest Spyro experience I've ever had. That being said I've come to this game numerous times throughout my life when I feel lost or if I want to feel at "home" with myself. Now that I have a little one and she's nearing the age of being able to experience this game as well, I'm filled with joy. All in all, if you have past with Spyro like myself and don't have this yet, I highly recommend it. Nostalgic AF. If you're new to Spyro, you might enjoy it. It kinda feels like a light-hearted soulslike where you collect gems and die a lot. It looks easier than it is and gets harder as you progress. 25 years later, I'm still dying left and right but discovering how to get to secret locations that puzzled me as a little. 10/10/10. I hope one day they add the feature of downgrading graphics or reverting them to the old so I don't have to break out my original copies or a Ps1.

I showed my Daughter Spyro on my Playstation and she loved him, just like i did at that age. Shes not one for playing games on her own but was so happy to sit and play Spyro Reignited with just a little support when the "Bad guys are too big". Its been a really nice bonding time for us i love Spyro and now so does she. Its a really tight package, all 3 games really easy to switch and save between them, runs well just wish it had up scaling support for my media machine that is a little under powered. Some of the over animated attitude has been lost in this version but it controls great and still has the charm.

Fun play. This game brought back the charm of the original trilogy and even managed to elevate it. Though, there are some FPS hiccups, but they don’t take too much away from the original experience.

Had fun playing through these games, I only ever played spyro at friends houses growing up but remember loving it. Although the gameplay is pretty simple, the controls are good, the levels are mostly interesting to explore, and the graphics are really good. I think my biggest issue with it was more just some of the old style game design issues which caused random difficulty spikes in certain areas, but generally it's fun, a little challenging at times and a great remake.

I grew up playing Spyro the original trilogy on the PS1. I've always felt that the Reignited Trilogy is exactly what a Spyro Remaster should be, where so many environments were brought to the best they could possibly be. This does feel like the ultimate original Spyro experience, but I do have some complaints. Cons: The Unreal Engine has some oddities in it resulting in some new category of bugs and glitches that otherwise didn't exist in the original game. Not entirely experience ruining. For some reason there is a bug where if your FPS is unlimited or capped higher than the computer can perform, Spyro slides around. My most petty complaint is the reignited soundtrack, however, the option for the original is there which is greatly appreciated.

I never played any of the original Spyro games, and now that I finished the main story of the 3 games, I'm pleasantly surprised by how much fun the collectathon gameplay can be. Every level introduces something new and getting that "100% level completed" goal feels nice. The graphics also look stunning, I looked at some videos of the old games and wow, it's such a big upgrade but still keeps the charming cartoony look. Biggest annoyance is some of the jank camera/controls/terrain, I think I died a lot more to gliding, bonking against the wall and falling down -_- Also, it's a shame that the PC release never got patched properly as it launches SteamVR (even though this is not a VR game) and playing on 60fps bugs some levels.

A great set of games that got really good updated graphics and smoothed over gameplay. There is some odd, harmless bug that means a lot of times spyro will slide to the side until he hits a wall or the edge of a cliff, but otherwise the game plays perfectly.

Un juego que se deja jugar. Es entretenido, y facilillo en general, aunque si quieres conseguir todo, hay algunas pruebas que son más dificiles de completar. Si no has jugado a los originales, el juego quiza sea un poco simple y facil.

TOYS FOR BOB please fix the issues on ALPINE RIDGE anything above 30 fps makes the door or the stairwell get stuck. if i drop it to 30 fps its just fine. (if anyone else has this issue you just just go to in-game settings and lower it to 30 fps to get past it then you can go back to higher fps once you pass that area) I love the spyro series as a kid and now that its been REIGNITED i am still having a blast burning sheep! I can't wait for more spyro games!!

Bought the Trilogy on sale for 13.99€ so for anyone who grew up with these games that is a almost a no brainer. The game looks really nice and colorful and will take you on a nostalgia trip. What I will say though is that unsuprisingly, this game is geared towards kids, so there is no deep story, no complex gameplay, very flat dialogs and so on. So if I had not played these games as a kid I would probably not really enjoy it. What I might add as well is that the game seems not to be optimized to run on modern hardware with high settings, which tbh is kind of a joke for a remake. Sometimes Spyro will run on the spot when pressing forwards, which is only resolved by jumping. Additionally he slides around even when there is zero input. There are multiple reviews and discussions about this issue, yet it seems that it was never patched. Some say you need to limit the fps to 30 and deactivate vsync, so I might test that. It still does not change the fact that the game should be able to run on higher FPS since these settings can be chosen in the game, so it should be able to handle that.

Spyro is a very good low stress game. It is simple but challenging in some parts, the flight levels specifically. The basic gameplay is great and if you want some extra challenge there are the skill points and trophies to get.

This game gave me nostalgia as I am a 90s baby. I really always wanted to play the original when I was younger. Now, at 29 years old I have reignited trilogy and I must say it's better to wait for the remastered. Looks really fantastic.

There are a LOT of great things about this trilogy. But it is just too buggy. There's no way I can give it a positive rating for how frequently I get softlocked into a locked animation, thrown off the skateboard when doing flips, and my FPS absolutely destroyed even if GPU and CPU usage is like 20%.

Amazing games of their times, but the physics in this game are utter garbage most of the time. Especially when you need to land precise jumps or boosts. Not as bad in Spyro 1, but you will notice it very quickly throughout 2 and 3. Also, some of the worst boss fights I've ever had the displeasure of playing. Most notorious is the camera angle for the Gulp fight, But I don;t see how anyone is leaving out the main boss of Year of the Dragon. Couple Gulp's terrible camera angle with vehicles that spin on dime at random. Managed to fly me right into the lava more than once. Play the classics and emulate them on PC. Save your money unless you REALLY want the updated art and sound. Which will be copyright claimed anyway.

Spyro holds up surprisingly well in 2025. It's fun, vibrant, and more challenging than you’d expect from a platformer born decades ago. The tight controls and fast-paced movement keep it engaging, but there’s one catch: the default field of view. It’s so zoomed in that, combined with Spyro’s quick sprinting, I ended up with a healthy dose of motion sickness. Thankfully I found a fix. I used a free third-party tool called Flawless Widescreen (not an ad..its free), which let me zoom the camera out to a more comfortable level. That tweak alone completely solved the issue. No more nausea, just smooth gliding through the Dragon Realms. If you're feeling dizzy while playing, I highly recommend giving that tool a try.

All 3 classic Spyro games in one collection and I love playing them all! The games were originally released on the good ol' PSX, but in 2019 the games received a remaster and are available for everyone to play. Basically the games tell the story of the purple dragon named Spyro and his dragonfly named Sparx and both are restoring the peace in different worlds of the dragon universe. The games are basically action-adventure platform games with different charcacters and stories added in each game. The graphics are a lot better compared to the original games and I was really happy to see the games updated with better and more colorful graphics. The controls are smoothly done and I do recommend playing them with a gamepad. Even the soundtracks received a well done upgrade. Overall, the developers made a great remaster of all 3 games and they all made me feel nostalgic about the original games I used to play on the PSX. If you'd like to explore nostalgic games and you want to play well done remastered versions, you might enjoy playing this trilogy.

If the Gnorcs are gems turned into warriors, then what are all the other civilizations we torch? Are we just robbing them in our adventure? If spirit particles can be used to activate magic powerup gates, do the orbs that activate portals also contain souls on an equivalent level to dragons being born? Why is Spyro the only purple dragon? What makes him so special? Where is Spyro 4? I want to over analyse another fun game's silly lore.

Playing this felt like stepping into a time machine straight back to the early 2000s, when I was convinced my biggest life skill was breathing fire and collecting gems. The colours pop, the animations are silky smooth, and every dragon roar hits me right in the childhood feels. It’s exactly the Spyro I remembered—except way prettier and with fewer awkward camera angles that used to make me question my life choices. I spent hours chasing dragonflies, smashing crates, and trying desperately not to fall off every cliff (still failed). The remaster nailed that sweet spot between “aww, this is exactly how I remember it” and “wow, this looks way better than I ever expected.” If you grew up hopping through Dragon Realms on a PlayStation, this is the perfect excuse to revisit your past and finally figure out what the heck you were doing with all those gems.
